  1. When was that? Sure hope it's not another pointless psycho Sith villain like Jadus, like we didn't have enough of those...

Jadus would actually be pretty cool but my money would be on Malgus. Kira could definitely be interesting as well but my JK would by enraged.

  2. I'm not so sure about that. There are some gold armor sets though that are so ugly or strange that you can barely give them away to other players.

And since there is actually a range of drop rate % in each range (silver, gold, platinum), I would be willing to bet that after people start opening these crates there are going to be complaints about "junk" drops of some unpopular gold and silver items.

That has been an ongoing problem since release, nevermind the pack drops.

  3. Whatever floats your boat I say. I recently re-subbed to play KotET myself. I enjoyed the story, a little irritated at the RNG aspect of GC though.

As far as class specific stories, sadly, I think that ship has sailed and it isn't happening.

  4. They'd make money by selling a value for money product that people are happy to spend their leisure funds on.

Increasing the chances of getting ripped off by a Cartel Crate, and then upscaling the "color" quality of items so players get ripped off a bit more on Unlock prices will do more harm than good if the intent is to increase revenue streams.

Everything in the Gambling Crates should be on the Cartel Market at a fixed price.

I'll pay a reasonable amount of RL cash to buy what I want from the Cartel Market.

I'll not pay an unreasonable amount of RL cash to buy a 95% chance of NOT getting what I want - I ain't that daft.

This last week I bought Cartel Coins to buy Satele Shan's Armour - I had one piece from a Crate (purchased with the CC I got from being subbed) months ago, but saw no hope of completing the set so gave up, until this week.

In the same week I have bough a Mount (Ashfall Tauntaun), and spent close on 1000 Crowns buying specific decorations I wanted for my Stronghold.

I would have spent Zero CC for those things had they only been available via Gambling Crates.

    All The Best

I wouldn't have a problem if the packs die and everything went direct purchase. I've always thought that would be the best approach for the customers but it probably isn't favorable to business. With these changes to the packs, direct purchase might be the better business move. Will have to wait and see how the packs sell I guess.

  5. This is why I've stopped buying gamble packs. You get fewer items with worse odds practically with every shipment. Compare current packs with the first few shipments. Back then, you had SEVEN slots as opposed to the four we have now, they had Cartel Market certificates and rep items for vendors to buy other stuff, and many decorations dropped in groups of two or four. Now EAWare is pulling this anti-consumer removal of the item quality cheapest to unlock again, in a way to try to squeeze even more real money transactions out of people. Shame on them.

A business trying to make as much money as possible. Oh the humanity.

Seriously though, they need to make money to keep the game running and continue development.

Who knows why they think this is the way to go. My speculation is that they are not hitting financial goals with Subscriptions or CM sales. Will this change help? Doubtful but it might drive down price of GCCs which are ridiculously overpriced on the GTN right now.

  6. Well I found some challenge. Vaylin's Spirit with a Madness Assassin going along with screwing up and releasing old boy locked in the box. Good times. :D

Err. Not sure where I got Madness from, it was Deception. Either way a lot of kiting finally took her down.

  7. As much as I wouldn't like to agree, it's pretty difficult to continue the actual characters storyline from this point. Once you're on Iokath, you're basically on the path to becoming a Eternal God, of course they'll release the full operation soon, but story wise.. I don't see one happening.

I see the game coming to a close by 6.0 at the latest, because like I mentioned I don't see any continuing story after we become fully Gods.

Unless they decide to revive Kephess that is.

I don't know about that. I believe there is quite a few places they could go with the story. Ultimately I think it will go back towards republic vs empire but something major would have to happen to shatter the alliance unless they go with a 3 way struggle. There are plenty of options there in my opinion.
