  1. So....I see many negative posts about this update, I have tried to keep an open mind....just play and see how it is.....try to accept it and get used to it.....I am not thrilled by any means with some of the changes but am trying to accept them and get used to them and just play and not complain, But there is one change I find absolutely ridiculous! 320+ weapons have no barrels, mods or enhancements and are not customizable?! For a chestpiece, legs, armguards, wrist, etc. not as big of deal, we can switch our outfits to a look we like, but.....we all have to use weapons and weapon designs (blasters, sabers, sniper rifle's, etc) that are the same? I just want to get this straight.....Bioware has had us buying customizable weapons, with different looks, and different sounds from both the Cartel Market and GTN for years, and now I can not use ANY of these weapons???!!! Are you kidding me??!! THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! I would go back to the way it was but since that will not happen....simple fix, let us equip weapon, tuning, crystal in 'Outfitter' to what we want, like the armor pieces.
  2. Completely agree, we used to be able to Que for every FP and now only 7-9? We have to play FP's we hate? Or the longest ones? This is a complete downgrade, who thought this was a good idea and approved this? Especially for those of us who have been playing for years. Bioware please listen to your consumer and fix it or change it back!
  3. I agree with everyone, Inventory and character screen UI's are horrible and annoying, I mean you have the same UI's for 10 years which were fine and all the sudden they need to be changed to something worse? This is a classic case of 'If it ain't broke don't fix it!'. Seriously Bioware listen to your consumers for once and fix it or change it back.
  4. AP PT dps is great for any kind of PvP, it has weak armor, have to mitigate incoming dmg, but the burst dmg can be brutal as mentioned above, know the rotation and defensive/healing cd's timed just right, you will put up big dmg everytime, I play AP PT for pvp all the time
  5. Just saw on server status that all the east coast servers are offline, all the west coast and European servers are online.
  6. I've been getting the same 'Server full/In Que' message, been trying to log on for over 90 minutes. In forums there are other posts about this same problem happening on multiple servers. Now it's saying there are multiple servers offline.
  7. I've been getting the same 'Server full/In Que' message also, been trying to log on for 90 minutes. Seems to be happening on multiple servers. And now the game and server status are saying 5 different servers offline. In system alerts it says 'no system alerts', grrrrr:confused:
  8. I'm an AP PT, been playing the game since launch, so experienced and not new to the game and play both pvp and pve equally and like and do well in both. Just downloaded new content and been playing/practicing the new abilities for AP PT the last few hours. I don't want to completely bash the new changes right off until I've had enough time to acclimate myself to them, because I've experienced this before and there can be an adjustment period to getting used to new abilities. I had gotten fairly adept at using Flamethrower, it can be very effective when used properly and correctly and in certain situations (especially and more so in pve, and dealing with mobs). Practiced on training dummy and played EV HM op right away with some guildmates to try it out. So they replace Flamethrower with this new ability Searing Wave just for PT's, and here is what I've what I noticed right off the bat. Searing Wave does about 1/2 the dmg of Flamethrower, the cooldown is twice as long as Flamethrower, and it generates more heat. I simply don't understand this change, unless of course I am doing something wrong and not using it correctly or haven't adjusted my utility points correctly. Any thoughts, input, advice or comments, positive or negative welcome.
  9. I'm a PT AP dps and I want Unload returned also if for no other reason then to have at least 1 ability where I can actually use the blaster and color crystal I worked so hard for to get (instead of basic rapid shots). As you said I wish they would have just reduced the damage instead of taking it completely away. I play about 60% pvp and 40% pve, I admit I didn't use Unload that much in pvp (standing still for even 3 secs is a death sentence in pvp), but it did come in handy at certain times. But in pve I used it more often and it was a great filler ability to use when other abilities were on CD, and I'm finding that I miss using it in pve. BW reduce the dmg if you want, that's fine, just bring it back.
  10. Ok, I've read all the posts on here, opinion seems to be split 50/50. People make good points for both sides of the argument, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and own type of play style. I'm a PT dps and I am not pleased that they eliminated it entirely and wish they'd bring it back, it's more of the 'principle' of the thing. Granted I rarely used Unload in pvp, you want to be moving and mobile and being a sitting duck for 3 secs certainly isn't ideal, although it was useful at times to counter the sin shroud as people have mentioned, and in a few other situations like helping a team mate finish off an opponent quickly with super low health at range. But in pve, where you don't have to be as mobile in certain fights it came in handy, especially as a filler when waiting for other abilities to come off CD. Also I liked the flexibility in pve to be able to switch between melee and ranged attacks and to at least have Unload available as an option if it was warranted or needed, and it did decent dmg, especially if 1-3 of the 'ticks' were crit hits. Like I said it's more of the principle of the thing, although PT is melee, a 'blaster/gun' in it's nature is a ranged weapon, and it was nice to have at least 1 ranged blaster attack, especially from a role playing perspective. A PT's 'main hand weapon' is a blaster yet now we only have 1 basic blaster attack, rapid shots. I completely agree with the above comment, it's an ability that's been around since day 1, it was a good filler/backup ability for pve, they didn't replace it with another type of ability which sucks, and they are hurting themselves because now there is no reason for a PT to equip a cool looking/sounding blaster or a nice looking color crystal. They might as well get rid of the blaster as PT's main hand weapon and let PT's carry a prehistoric club or a claw hammer, lol.
  11. As much as I love Mako, Treek is the better healer, although her talking can be annoying, lol. I'm lvl 55, I have both Treek and Mako in all 168/old elite gear, as people have mentioned Treek can use your hand me down gear with Aim as her main attribute, so she's easier to gear. Stat wise- Treek has a little better healing, Treek has slightly more crit (about 2%), also Treek wears heavy armor, has about 29% dmg reduction, and 36,500 hp, while Mako wears medium armor, has about 22% dmg reduction, and has 35,000 hp, so Treek a little more durable.
  12. I'm a lvl 55 PT and I haven't played in about a month, just got on for the first time since 3.0 update to try out the new discipline system, and I was 'pyro' spec before the update. I'm trying the new 'pyro' now, and I've only just been practicing with it on my ship training dummy and dueling with a bud of mine. It seems with addition of Flaming Fist that I never use Rocket Punch anymore. Reasons- they share a cooldown, my FF does 3427 dmg and additional 1033 elemental dmg, my RP does 3235 dmg, FF 'roots" the target for 2 seconds and RP does not, FF makes next Railshot automatic critical hit, Rain of Fire makes FF do 10% dmg to burning targets, and Firebug increases FF crit bonus dmg by 30%. I've quickly noticed I simply don't use RP at all, I just use FF instead. Is there something I'm missing about RP? Any opinions/feedback from more experienced PT's would be greatly appreciated. My other question, from what I've read on here the new AP spec plays more like the old pyro spec. I gotta admit I miss Thermal Detonator and I read it has increased range. Again would like opinions/feedback from experienced PT's on whether they prefer new AP spec or new Pyro spec for both PvP and PvE, I normally do about 65% PvP and 35% PvE.
  13. First off, excellent guide! read most of the posts and there is a ton of useful info from yourself and other players. I've tried all 3 specs for PT for both pvp and pve and like pyro the best. I'm no expert, but a decent pvper, (prefer pvp over pve) and have learned a lot simply by trial and error, but have some comments and a question and would like some feedback/opinions. I have the 4/6/36 spec even before reading this guide, my ranged crit a bit over 25% and my tech crit around 32%. 1) I've heard some people say pyro is 'squishy', I somewhat disagree, I have 34k hp (getting all endurance datacrons really helps), between chaff flare (rocks!), shield, kolto, carbonize, electrodart, and the 2 wz adrenals, I'm fairly durable and I can confidently guard a node solo against 2-3 attackers and at the very least hold on long enough to prevent cap and get help from team mates. as you mentioned just have to space out defensive abilities and healing correctly. 2) Absolutely luv shoulder cannon, have killed attackers who are low on health many times while I'm actually stunned/immobilized (I try to save determination for when I absolutely need it) with 4 quick shots, especially if explosive fuel is used before I'm stunned. and it's great for heat management. 3) I read post about this earlier but missile blast can be very effective at certain times on low health targets at range 25-30m away, either snipers/slingers or people running to a heal up, to finish them off. It does generate a lot of heat, but it is 'instant' and 2-4 quick shots with a crit hit or 2 can do the trick especially if your relics kick in. I've also heard the comment, 'can't believe you killed me with a missile blast', lol. 4) Also read about people having problems with heat management as pyro, as long as you get used to using vent heat and shoulder cannon at the right times and sprinkle in some rapid shots in between high heat abilities heat buildup can be fairly well managed. 5) I agree with your assessment of volatile igniter and flame sweep in pvp, it generates a ton of heat and does mainly 'fluff' damage. just an opinion. Ironically I like volatile igniter and flame sweep for quickly clearing mobs in pve after they've been engaged by a tank, just gotta keep an eye on the heat. 6) my main question is this, I saw you wrote that you didn't like Unload that much if I'm not mistaken, do you use it all? and if so when? my unload actually does decent damage and the CGC always kicks in when I use it, I mainly use it on people attacking a team mate, when I'm not being targeted, and at range 20-30m away and follow up with an explosive dart and railshot. what I don't like about unload (and also flamethrower) is that you have to stand still and you become a sitting duck for a few seconds. Again, great guide and thanks for all the information you provided.
  14. I like pyro for both pvp and pve, although it is true pyro more for single target, AP better for mobs. but in pve as pyro, flamethrower and flame sweep with volatile igniter are great for killing mobs quick, (as well as death from above), drawback is the heat buildup, just gotta keep an eye on it. ironically that is not the case in pvp, even if you torch 5 people with flamethrower, you are standing still and an easy target for enemies, and flame sweep with volatile igniter not great for pvp either, you need sweltering heat instead for flame sweep in pvp for the 40% movement reduction.
  15. I had trouble also the first couple times I did this but now I luv this FP and this particular boss fight. what everyone has said is basically correct, if all 4 people know what to do it's not that bad. if you're a healer stay out of water completely, the groups I've been in have done this with success--- the tank needs to stay on the boss and keep his attention the entire time, the 2 dps need to STUN and kill the adds IMMEDIATELY, 1 dps kills the adds on the left, 1 dps kills the adds on the right. the healer stays back and heals his/her butt off, focusing on the tank.
