  1. We all know that Daniel Erickson claimed that there hasn't been any drops from the subscriber base and we know that EA announced some days later something completely different. I don't wanna talk about the above. Instead I wanna talk about this http://tor-talk.com/storm-preparation/ and especially this : "The Old Republic is in EA’s top 10 franchises in terms of profitability, “but it’s not in our top five”. “So it’s a business contributor, while important, is not as important as Medal of Honor or Battlefield or FIFA or Madden or The Sims or SimCity, but it’s more important than Tiger Woods PGA Golf.” “So while I understand there’s an enormous amount of interest, I don’t know that it warrants as much as what we’re seeing right now. But we love the franchise, we’re going to grow the franchise and just like we want to see Tiger Woods Golf grow or SSX grow, or Madden for that matter, we’re going to drive this one for growth.”" When this happens, it means that "**** just got serious" (sry for that phrase) for SWTOR We 've been talking about it with my guild mates, but after reading this article I decided to post my honest opinion. Here it goes: SWTOR had an amazing launch, which is something awesome of course. However so far it lost a core part of the subscriber base and let's face it's gonna lose more. The only hopeful thing for SWTOR right now is to stabilize the subscriber base. The thing is that stabilizing the base the way that SWTOR runs right now is impossible imho. I know that there are casual players and fans who love the game and they keep making alts and more alts, watching the story and enjoying the game, which is sth great. However these people cannot be considered part of the "subscriber base" because at some point the story will stop. Inevitably it will stop. The real subscriber base (MMO/PvP/PvE players) right now is being let down (Let me clear sth up here. I respect these people and I am one of em in a way However these people are not viewing SWTOR as an MMO or at least as the current MMO model). Even Star Wars/ Kotor/ Bioware fans of that base are being let down. Not because the game is bad, but because they want to play more and there aren't many fun stuff to do. How can these people keep their subscription active ? Here is my suggestion in bold: Change your behaviour. Stop acting like SWTOR is the next big thing in the Gaming Industry and start telling the truth. Whenever a Bug appears in the game, you gotta admit it as mistakes. You gotta announce all the ideas you 've been working on , and whenever some1 asks you stuff in the Q&A you gotta stop answering with "it's a suprise/secret" etc. You gotta announce exactly what 1.3/1.4/1.5 is and when they are "Supposed" and "Wanted" to be launched. Give people reasons to support you and continue playing this game. People can't keep paying/supporting blindly. We love this game and we want to support it. But in order to do that, we need the guyz behind the game to support us also. There is a big gap between the community and the devs and that's really bad. That is my honest opinion and suggestion and I felt like posting it. Thnx for ur time.
  2. As I declared in my first post, I'm not writing these stuff for conspiracy theories. I'm making these posts so that these people can get their refund. I don't care if it's a scam or not. As for why renew the sub before the patch, another reason some1 would do that is to change his battlemaster gear back to what it is supposed to be, since many people made lot of changes.
  3. Just so we clear sth up. I have a 6 month sub on SWTOR, so I'm not one of those guyz. Hardcore PvPers would sub before the patch so that when patch hits live, they can QUEUE for Ranked WZs immediately. That's why.
  4. I'm starting to wonder if the un-professionalism that they showed us today is what we really deserve. Again, it's not about how many people paid to see the Ranked Warzones, it's about their existence. It's the same thing like going out for lunch, paying for your food and in the end having no lunch.
  5. It's not about how many they are, it's that these people exist and they must get a refund.
  6. I don't want to discourage you from posting your feelings, but the main point of this thread is not to find out if the cancellation is a good or bad thing. Obviously it's a good thing if they were gonna release a faulty feature. The problem here is the way/time it was announced, which is what will cost them more subs. Not because we won't get the Ranked Warzones yet, but because of how unprofessional the way/time of the announcement was. People paid for a product (sub 1 month) and they won't get it if they don't pay more (sub the next month).
  7. I will enjoy the patch, that's for sure but that's not the point. Some people paid to experience that feature for 1 month and they are not going to. If we're into justice at all, these people have to get their money back or get another kind of refund. *I'm not that into spam quoting, but I think the situation here requires me to.
  8. Yeah it may also require major guts, but what about those people who paid for that feature ? Shouldn't they get a "refund" in a way ?
  9. I understand more than anything how big a decision was it. However, if the decision WAS made at the last moment and announced immediately then, I don't think that we would have a patch today. It's not that simple of a click to remove those Ranked Warzones from the patch.
  10. So I'm not a hardcore PvPer and my main excitement for 1.2 wasn't the Ranked WZs. However since the moment I read the blog entry about the cancellation, I've beginning to wonder why was it announced at the last second, after Ranked WZs being advertised so heavily for 1.2 launch. As I understand a lot of people renewed their subscription a couple of days ago just to check the new content. A part of those people (maybe the minority but that doesn't matter) did this for Ranked Warzones. As a result, these people paid money to experience those ranked warzones and they are not gonna get them. If you apply this situtation into other "Real Life" stuff, replacing the Ranked Warzones with another product, I think the guy who claimed to sell that product would be accused of deceit. I'm not accusing the developpers/Bioware/EA for anything. All I care is an answer to why did you wait for the last second to announce it and what are you gonna do for those people who subbed for these Ranked WZs?
