i am a level 26 smuggler but i cant see how it is pssible to defeat hixan in his hideout. need help

I`m level10 so still a newb and i need help otherwise i`m giving up the game. ican`t get my client to respond in combat situations. all i get is a message "you are not controlled."

what does "you are not controlled mean?"
