  1. As for plots, Trooper is my favorite story followed by Smuggler. In fact, none of the Sith storylines do a thing for me. Granted I've only played BH and IA (will never play a Sith). But the stories seemed boring. So welcome aboard and enjoy the drama of Havoc Squad! There is a bit of it.
  2. Most who complain about Trooper either: 1. Dont know how to play them. 2. Want Trooper to be a tank/dps/healer, which they are not. Choose a role. There are some valid(ish) arguments though: 1. Full Auto vs. Unload. Full Auto's animation "appears" to make it slower. Playing a Merc, Vanguard, and Commando, I can see why people think this. The ability however does x damage over 3 seconds. Whether that damage happens in the first 1.5 seconds (Unload) or the last 1.5 seconds (Full Auto) is mostly inconsequential as it is still true to x damage over 3 seconds. I believe the devs said they were looking into this to match the abilities up. 2. Same as #1, is Mortar Volley vs DFA. DFA definitely fires up smoother and quicker, but damage wise I see no difference. 3. Bounty Hunters "feel" more refined, more "Bounty Hunter". Again, I play both sides and I agree. Bounty Hunter feels like the class they designed first, then took that design, changed some names, and called it Trooper. On the flipside, I like Trooper more for: 1. Shockstrike. Rocket Punch is just stupid imo. Shockstrike gives that subtle attack that packs a punch and doesnt look like Ryu from Street Fighter. 2. Pulse Cannon "appears" to have a wider cone than Flamethrower. 3. While Mortar Volley does seem to take longer than DFA to activate, its radius also appears to be much larger. So imo this nullifies the timing problem. MV might take longer but it hits more targets. DFA is quicker but hits less. Take your pick. Overall, both classes are great imo. Just different playstyles. Although my Merc has Tracers, I hate this and cannot wait to see the changes the devs have in store to it. People are right, too many 3 button PvP'ers out there. And the game is 3 months old? People jumping ship or jumping down Bioware's back need to remember the game is still new. It will get better, things will be refined. No other game I have played was as smooth as this one at launch. Trooper is a great class (I lean towards Vanguard) that will only get better when the devs refine the little things for us.
  3. Yea I wondered the same thing even with the story. Why oh why cant Jaxo and Elara switch places? Jaxo would be awesome. Elara... well cant say with the spoiler but it would be an easy decision for me.
  4. I'm gonna check it out. Moved to Harbinger for the pop sizes but being East Coast myself the times arent working well with me. Sounds like a blast too. How are the pops? You think it would be decent long-term?
  5. Yea unfortunately Commando has become a "2 button" class. Sure there are arguments on both sides, but both arguments include those 2 buttons. Whether that is our fault as players for exploiting (overusing) a combo, or the devs' faults for overlooking how powerful it is, is up for debate. I use it myself, but would love to give up both if for nothing else than to break the "cookie cutter" mentality. Commando overall needs tweaking to give players a reason NOT to use Grav/Dem almost exclusively. Need... more... toys.
  6. Awesome video if for nothing else than the SWG tribute at the beginning. Such a great game, great community, mature "RP" guilds, good times all around. Even if you guys were Imps.
  7. I missed it but man if it does I would love it. I loved Metroid back in the day.
  8. I've only played with Elara and Mako but can agree just on that. Mako "seems" smarter. She dps's when she should, heals when she should. I dont think any of the healers are "better" than any of the others ability-wise. I just think Elara's AI could use some refining. She often forgets about healing, even when you need it, to stand there or keep attacking. Mako hardly ever makes that mistake in my experience. I like Elara but the AI seems off a bit.
  9. I agree as far as the videos are concerned. In the Progression and Hope videos Commandos look bada**. In game, not so much. I think more than anything the "special effects", or lack thereof in game, is what makes this class feel ehhh. I love my Merc. He feels like a Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Commando feels... lacking. 1. As has been stated many times, why do we have assault cannons with 2+ barrels that shoot ONE laser? 2. We use assault cannons that pack about the same punch as a BB gun. My Gunslinger's and Merc's pistols pack tons more punch. Assault cannon vs. pistols... in sci-fi I wonder which one devastates more? In SWTOR its pistols I guess. 3. Sound effects as you said are lacking. Where are the Commando sound effects? 4. Full auto is just lackluster. I dont mind the lightning attacks, would prefer the animations to be more "assault cannons" and less lightning and fire. I think its funny when my Vanguard fires lightning from his rifle. Or better yet, mortar shots. All in all, Bounty Hunter "feels" like a Bounty Hunter. All their specials have animations that correspond to an iconic Bounty Hunter (flamethrower, missiles, laser pistols, carbonite). Commando feels like a last minute and badly thought-out class as far as animations go.
  10. Not a chance. They may offer shoddy service, but they won't refund anyone for being disgruntled with that shoddy service.
  11. WoW did have queues in the beginning, but they quickly fixed the problems (by opening up so many servers you got lost in the server list). And their queues were rarely more than 10 minutes.
  12. This may be the only solution they have. By forcing guilds onto pre-chosen servers they screwed guilds. Now if they let entire guilds transfer, maybe they will. Better option than just free transfer overall.
  13. Yea Im not sure why Aussies are playing on the West Coast servers and not on their own servers. Australia has a big gaming community. Did Bioware not consider that and put them on American servers?
  14. Yea I started on Harbinger. Have not logged into that toon in 2 days. 1 guild on Jek Jek Tarr. I play here most as the queues are smallest. Another guild on Dark Reaper. I created toons but havent played due to the >1 hr queues. Total insanity.
  15. Yea I agree. Maybe the worst start Ive experienced. Even WoW at first never really surpassed 10 minute queues. No matter how good your game is, customer service has to be your #1 quality. And so far it's not.
  16. I would agree and look into it except I have fios, and the group said they spiked also. Otherwise I would fully check my end first. It's only been happening on Coruscant and only tonight.
  17. Increasing it would be great. Did they not see this coming with the amount of preorders they got? Did they not think to open the servers up? Lock servers? Im wondering what the server cap right now really is. 50k? Or 5k?
  18. I say they quit letting new accounts play on these full servers. The queues are outrageous at >60 mins waits. The lag spikes of 10k+ latency is ridiculous. (I hit 36k latency early and stopped the entire party dead) Do you guys know how to lock servers and make newer accounts go to other servers? Some servers should have been locked days ago. You cannot spread the population to all the servers if you allow players to play on any server they want. Most will pick overpopulated servers like Harbinger and the experience will be horrible. And those of us with pre-launch guilds suffer when we didnt even have a choice, we got put on these servers.
