  1. After spending a lot of time leveling all the different classes and many of the advanced specializations, I find myself wondering why SWTOR adopted the rage mechanic (also called focus on Republic side). After using ammo, heat, and force I just keep wondering why. I'm guessing it's because so many are used to this horrible mechanic from WoW and other games. It should be gone. Rage starts you off with 0 resources and keeps you working the bottom of the pile, always an inch away from screwing up and being back at 0, making many of the skills unusable. In contrast, a mechanic like heat or energy cells will start you off with all your resources and abilities and requires you to screw up a number of times before you find yourself at the bottom. I know some people will say "I have no problems with rage"; these people are generally resigned to including an unhealthy dose of the lousy free attack in their rotations. This rage mechanic is still a stinker after all these years and adding a +6 button to it and making a number of abilities free of charge to crutch it still doesn't make it a good idea. For newer players it has to be the most difficult mechanic to use, I've been struggling with warriors using rage for like 10 years now and it still annoys me routinely. It only takes one or two slip-ups in a fight and you find yourself with 0 resources. Even experienced players can hit the wrong button at the wrong time on accident every once in awhile. Do this game a favor and get rid of rage as a mechanic and replace it with something like the bounty hunter's heat. That is all.
