  1. Well I found all the parts, spent at least and hour trying to find people who would help. (So those of you who say "ask in the fleet" are full of it) Though I did eventually have some help from one other person. It was a pain, and even after doing it the hard was, I would argue that it should be made easier, if only for the sanity of others.
  2. I am by no means suggesting that the missions are dumbed down in any way, but the "easiest" part of the quest line relatively speaking, is actually the most difficult. I understand the parts are supposed to be rare, but the fact that the reliability of the excavator is in question as well as the size of the areas you are scanning being a significant factor. I mean the mission details don't even hint at a set of coordinates or location to at least start looking. Take Taris for instance, the area around the Endar Spire is actually very large, I spent two hours of my time just running around both sides of it, back and forth, scanning and scanning without a single bit of luck. To me that's two hours wasted I could have used accomplishing anything else.
  3. So pray the RNG god smiles upon ye or be damned despite the fact you paid good money to take part in this content? Yeh that seems legit.
  4. Sorry to necro, but this quest series was fine when it was going at a steady pace, now that I'm spending hours just plopping down a scanner that for all I know can't actually pick up the part anymore, it makes me wonder if something isn't actually broken with the quest. I don't play this religiously enough to warrant being in a guild, nor do I have the luxury or the luck to be able to acquire a group to go searching for this. Some folks like me have no choice, no option but to search around solo, and as it is currently, the mission requires searching an extremely large area with a tool that takes a long time to power up, and only covers a small radius. I guess what I'm saying is that the quest where you're searching for parts needs a little reworking. If I wanted to play the grind game with random number generator (because all these parts are randomly placed) I'd go and play Lineage, Lineage II, or some other god forsaken Korean grind game.
  5. To be fair, I just played the Beta and the game, I never took an active stance on these forums... like ever.
  6. Would it help to say I've been playing on and off for the past two years? I'm not a religious or devout player of this game.
  7. Need I sign in and display my Beta access titles, seriously? Sure it took me two years to mention it, I figured that I wasn't the only one incredibly disappointed, and that I wouldn't be the only one furious enough with it to mention it. It is something worth mentioning. Yes I do know that Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors have access to an "advanced class" but once that choice is made you are stuck with it, it does not allow for compromise in any fashion.
  8. I wouldn't begin to think that I would speak for a "majority" like you yourself are doing. That said removing weapons restrictions would hardly be a misstep as it would open up a whole new world of personalization and freedom to the playerbase, something this game is sorely lacking. Also to the gentleman attempting to troll me, I have only this to say. "You have no power here." On a side note, would it not even be a fair compromise to allow for "vanity" items in lightsaber styles? To allow that these be equipped and displayed to better personalize our characters without them actually affecting combat?
  9. It's an MMORPG, Just like World of Warcraft or City of Heroes, or Ultima Online. All MMORPG means Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game, so to say that this is "just an MMO" means to say it is just Massively Multiplayer Online, and that grammatically and syntax wise does not make any sense. The game features some character personalization, character progression and development, in essence it is an RPG. What is a great shame is that LucasArts pulled SOE's license for Star Wars Galaxies just for this garbage.
  10. "insanely OP" You know back in Star Wars Galaxies we had plenty of simply fixes to things like saberstaffes, how they had a high damage output but low accuracy, two handed sabers had a higher damage than one handed, but they would swing slower and had higher accuracy (two-handed is not dual wielding). The point is that you over complicate things by thinking "oh is this op, or is that op" Meh.. can't believe they shut down Star Wars Galaxies for this garbage.
  11. It is written and shown that Jedi and Sith alike have chosen their lightsaber(s) based on their personal preferences, and I've noticed there is not a whole lot of personalization in this area in Star Wars: The Old Republic, especially when it concerns what kind of lightsaber combat styles a player wants to have. It was a huge disappointment to me when I found that as a Jedi Knight or a Sith Warrior I was not allowed to dual wield or even use a double-bladed saber staff as I saw fit, it eliminated so many options for myself as a player. I think it should be taken under heavy consideration to allow players to use whatever lightsaber styles they want, rather than to limit our combat styles to classes and sub-classes.
