  1. Dear Bioware, do us all a favor and let us download the expansion as early as possible, it doesn't have to be active till its due, but many of us might have slower connections or caps, you're not announcing the size sadly but it's safe to assume its beyond 1gig. We've gotten the early access therefore I'd rather not waste 2-3 days downloading the patch!

8 hours wont be long enough for a large download for many people.

Make it available as soon as possible so we can start enjoying the content on April 9, that isnt too much to ask!

  2. How is this different from anything else on the cartel market?

Who says you have to pay real money? I'm almost hero rep status and didnt pay a single cartel coin.

You dont mind grinding, grind some dailies and buy Enforcer Catel packs on GTN, earn your rep, simple and free.

In the simplest of terms.. As a subscriber.. I should not need to spend an extra dime to acquire rep, to purchase goods, to enjoy this game.. That is why I am a subscriber..

I don't mind playing the game and grinding to earn rep.. I do mind using cartel coins, which is essentially money, as a means to buy rep..

    Thanks..

  3. To be honest I'd boot you in a second and /ignore you. I expect most gamers to react the same.

Like someone said this is common courtesy, you're playing with others, you want all for yourself play a single player game.

First Roll is always for actual need by the character that is currently playing in the group.

You can roll for Alts and Comps if no one actually needs it. In case of need/greed, if your char doesn't need then you all greed and a random will get it.

This is a rule you have to live by in society as a human being.

Came across two flashpoints yesterday where I was verbally talked down to by a gamer each time for winning loot for my companion. I dont understand the big deal. Why the sense of entitlement over another gamer? If I see an item that would be needed for my companion to equip im going to roll for it. If someone else wins it, cool, good for them as far as im concerned. If i win it f, suddenly there are problems.

First flashpoint came across an item, i passed as neither i nor my companions needed it, Second one selected need for my tank. Got it. Third one, great for my tank, selected need, got it again. Then got told I was scum and voted off.

Second one, passed on two items, third one great for my tank, selected need and was told I had no right if it was for my companion and that I cant select need. I say why not? Out of 13 loot drops in that flashpoint i chose need on 2. How is that greedy?

As far as im concerned, im a paid subscriber. Why should some other gamer dictate to me what I can or cannot do to benefit them? If someone wants help on a mission or flashpoint and asks me, ill have no problem helping them but if i see something my tank needs, im selecting need. Im certainly not going to cry over it if someone else wins it. This sense of entitlement over someone else is baffling. There is no rulebook in the game that states that you cant do it and everyone who rolls for it has an equal chance

  4. Some people here make some valid points others not so much, but there's one thing that I don't get.

    What exactly is the problem?

You like to grind? You don't want to pay real money?

Then grind dailies for credits and buy the contraband packs on GTN. Problem solved.

you will get rep and probably some goodies inside that you can sell and buy more packs with etc.

Really don't see an issue here. you're not locked out of anything, there's another way to get it all.

On the other hand, for those who don't mind paying, they can buy them with real money.

Same goes for anything on the cartel market don't see how this is different.

  5. you and icebergy totally missed the point.

Nobody said I want it for me, if you want to compare it to a football game, I might not be able to be home on time, but ill have my tivo record it and watch it when im there.

what I am saying is that EVERYONE should be able to take advantage of double XP equally. Not me or you, everyone.

If there is a some sort of buff, then you can continue playing on weekends while i and those like me, take advantage during the week. Everyone wins, yes it is far simpler and logical that way.

So?? I am assuming that all professional sports should be on hold until a day when you will not be heading home from work??

Special perks should not be held or made to work on day that YOU will be playing.. Just saying..

I missed my state fair last year because I was out to town for work.. I demand that they run it for an extra week when I am home so that I may enjoy it.. Isn't entitlement grand??? :p

  6. Many people might play on weekends but a ton of us cannot log in on weekends, we have things such as a family, friends, girlfriends, wives, kids, lunches dinners trips and other things.

I for one have 3 alts id love to push from mid 30s to 50 but will not be able to play on a single of those weekends.

As is the case with numerous others in my guild and in game.

How about you give everyone an equal opportunity and make a 48hr or 72hr double XP buff that lasts while you're logged in and that resets on tuesdays like everything else!

its far simpler and gives an equal opportunity to all gamers.

Its in everyone's interest that we level up most alts, so give us a chance to do so.

if other MMOs do doubel XP weekends, that doesnt mean you have to follow and can't be positively innovative.

  7. Speeder racing is something that is deeply rooted within the starwars universe and movies.

I would like more than anything to see a PVP speeder racing instance(s). Where you'd have 10 players racing around a track(s) with gameplay mechanics similar to Mario Kart. Where you'd have various obstacles on the track, and multiple weapons, to slow down, destroy, or hamper other players.

Those weapons or ammo could be craftable items, like say goo that slows a player crafted by biochem, or heat seeking missiles by armstech etc. Which would boost the economy incredibly.

The speeders themselves could be moddable, be it looks or upgrade items, like its done with the ship.

Characters could even ride their own speeders outside of the instances, without the weapons etc obviously.

Add to that speeder comms and various vanity items and upgrades related to such an event, to use comms for (speeder pets and rare speeders for winners), and you got a guaranteed winner.

I can only imagine all the different mechanics of such races and the incredible amount of fun and excitement they would bring.

Im surprised this wasnt a main thing on the to-do list form the get go. You cant miss such an opportunity, and we cant wait to play something like that. It would be terribly addictive and incredibly fun, not to mention original and perfectly fitting to this game.

    Fingers crossed.

  8. And I dont mean as an active mount, I mean make it Legacy bound so that when we purchase the Gree mount with a char we can send it to an alt of choice before activating it.

As I mentioned in a comment on another post, I've spent my helixes on weapons on my two main chars, and even if I were to get all helixes for the next two weeks it would amount to 42 not 48.

I only have leftover helixes on my GS that I never play, I could buy it with him, but I'd like to be able to send the speeder over to my main before activating it on him. Don't see why that can't be done. Pretty logical and essential.

  9. Every person I know and have spoken to all guildies included where totally bummed by the fact that the mount cant be sent to an alt before its activated. I for one have used all my helixes with my two main character for weapons, now even if I want to go from scratch and complete everything (which I cant anyway, I have a job) I still wont be able to buy the mount, however I still have 42 helixes from last event with my GS that I never play in general. I do not want him to have the mount, I should be able to buy it with him and send it to my main to activate!

Or at the very least make the helixes BTL so i can send them. but this way its screws everyone up for one reason or another. I sincerely hope you will fix this, I cannot think of any logical reason not to make the mount BTL like the weapons, then it can be activated with whichever alt we want!

  10. yeah I sure hope u will nerf repair bills you introduced in 1.7 in fact was hoping that was going to be done in todays patch but patch notes make no mention of this. in the past 2 days since patch 1.7 I paid around 420k of repair bills, a single repair on my commando cost me 107k after finishing daily, that's more than I earned form daily itself!.

Either boost credit rewards in ops and dailies by 3 or 4x or u need to nerf repair costs asap.

  11. No but I see the flaws in your thinking process.

Why would anyone leave the game at 50 if they liked it, logic says they would want to sub to experience endgame content and get all the advantages of being a subscriber. IF they didn't like it, then they may even leave at level 20'. They'll stay for the same reason you did.

And preferred status is not a slightly degraded version it is a much degraded version.

Personally? I'll pay 15$ a month because it is the most ridiculously cheap price for a month of entertainment I have ever seen. It's the cost of a 2hour movie ticket or a valet tip ffs.

What is to stop people from leaving after level 50?

This addage applies here: "If you are giving the milk away for free, why would they buy the cow?" :p

So basically everyone that ever had an account will be Preffered Status and anyone who ONLY pays the minimum of ~$5 US. FOREVER? It is not stipulated. If one only has to pay for a slightly degraded subscription for a one time fee of ~$5 US. Why would they ever subscribe?

Anyone else see the flaws in this plan?

  12. Well in a way they are already implementing what I suggested but they do it manually. That is, every few months they will create additional rewards for certain things in the game. For example as of recently FP HM don't just give u columni and tionese comms they started giving you BH comms and later daily comms as well. With latest patch they doubled comms from weeklies.

So this system is already in effect. I was talking about refining it by making it automated.

One might think that he'd rather wait for the new belsavis daily that will most probably have much better rewards than current ones, and stick to BH as it is quicker and gives u BH comms for the weekly. All the while slowly dropping belsavis and ilum that are harder longer and where the outcome isn't worthwhile.

Those instances depopulate and lose value. Whereas if the outcomes were automated and incremental this would not happen.

Another thing is, many people might need dailies for comms or cash so will force themselves to do them, but on a psychological level when the outcome of an activity is set, it is automatically very boring and grindy, it becomes a chore. Wi time many ppl might just associate the game itself to a chore for the most part.

The element of reward and surprise both alleviate that feeling greatly and bring excitement to a place that doesn't necessarily have any.

An example of this is the lost island FP, many guildies , myself included will do that one over easier ones, and will repeat it rather than have variation, only because they are excited about a possible pet drop.

This element of surprise and special reward will really counter the feeling of running a chore.

I suggested adding this element to other grindy elements of the game and suddenly nothing will feel so repetitive when u have more to look forward to.

GW2 which I totally disliked has an amazing dailies system going for it, something similar to what I spoke of, and it truly changes the concept and improves the game. It's the one element I'm jealous we don't have.

The game would benefit greatly from such a touch.

  13. Not sure how you play the game, but regardless of that, MMO is all about loot and reward. It is not only a factor but the most important one. Of course people don't play dailies because it's boring, I couldn't make too much sense of that sentence or the rest of your post tbh its a bit off subject, the point is we do daily mainly for credits and the 7k missions arent what they used to be. My 5 million cant buy me much nowadays, and doing the dailies is very time consuming and not as rewarding considering inflation. If it gave you better loot and more creds then it would be worthwhile to do them.

So loot needs to be dynamic to solve this issue. in Fact I beleive that is a main issue in most MMO that would be partially resolved that way.

As for daily FPs most of us do them for the Blackhole Commendations, of course it gets dull that it the point I tried to make in the first place... A dynamic reward system would push people to do them more often in order to get better loot as a result.

´People dont run daylies because they are boring. The reward isn´t a factor. With a bigger reward i would probably run even fewer daylies. Same goes to some extend for hard mode FP. I dont even do my daily most days. When you got columi+ gear then daylies gets dull. It´s just too easy. I wish there was nightmare mode FP outside groupfinder with rakata or maybe even campaign gear.

Most people have black hole com. gear anyways, so putting campaign gear in nightmare mode FP would be too bad. Maybe put a lockout on nightmare mode. If your worried it will be a pug-killer. well it should be. For that gear level it should be hard to get. Also many of us want more challenging group content. Just dont put nightmare mode FP in groupfinder if your too worried about your pugs..

  14. While the financial rewards were quite high for doing dailies back in the day, I believe rewards should be updated to match the inflation. When everything costs 10 times more than it used to, the incentive to do dailies isn't as high and buying becomes something only veterans can do.

My suggestion of a partial solution for this is a dynamic reward system, where for example, doing a certain daily over 15 times will start rewarding you with tier 2 daily rewards, 14k credits vs the usual 7. Another 10 times and you reach tier 3 rewards that'll triple the financial outcome for you, and so on.

This would keep people invested in doing their dailies more often and the rewards would be worthwhile for everyone based on the effort they put.

I believe that a Tiered reward system can be applicable to all daily events rewarding players for their efforts and pushing others to be more active doing them. For Flashpoints for example, reaching 20 completed hard modes rewards tier 2 rewards which would maybe include some mats or better items; 100 times and you get very rare drops including special pets and so forth.

These are in large part reward based games, and any improved or rare surprises would encourage people to be more involved and excited about doing otherwise grindy and boring activities.

  15. You know what came first to me, wth this game is going!? I've played 2 hours of Guild Wars 2 and got hooked and then there is this ***** of **** in the "star wars" universe. I'm one die hard Star Wars fan but it seems it wasnt enough

Cant argue personal opinions, but the way I see it, it''s the other way around. I tried GW2 played 40hours and really wanted to finish story but was totally unable to, while the engine is good and graphics crisp, the gameplay is a diablo ripoff and totally boring, spamming 3-4 buttons hoping ull get a good result at the end of the total mayhem on screen. no life no immersion no connection to people no strategy nothing really. People are starting to quit it in mass. SWTOR with all its early flaws is by far the best MMO and keeps getting better, if it continues like this within 6 months it'll be virtually perfect and will quadruple the subs base. I couldn't care less about starwars and its universe, but I am totally addicted to this game regardless.

  16. I am glad to see little improvements to the game and improvements at all, this is one of the most fun games and best MMO in my opinion with the best days to come. Don't know why people got discouraged so early, with so much potential it can only be amazing in the years to come and people will flock back.

I'm sure the devs are also working on multiple different things at the same time to please gamers.

That being said I only worry about one thing and that is the hero engine. I'm afraid this might be the only problem going forward, I do not share the negative view of the past. its normal for gamers to leave in mass today most if not all games experience this then go back up.

What I'd like to know is whether it is even possible to change the engine in the future, I see hero is slowing down progress that can otherwise be made on the game. One such thing is the improved fps you were working on, but when seeing how jittery NPCs are at a distance it point to a graphic cheat or gimmick rather than a fix, this is a little worrisome imo as it tells me there are no final solutions with Hero but only patches so to speak.

Again can and will the Hero engine be replaced in the future?
