  1. Good info, thanks! I would really love to hear from other PvP tanks about defensive stats versus power/crit/surge. I know as a non-lethality sniper I was doing pretty much only white damage. Im not sure about other classes.
  2. Thanks for the reply Froops. From what I have been reading, stats like Defence, shield, absorption, etc do not offer much if anything in PvP. They are PvE stats. Could anyone confirm this please? Also, I have 5500 commendations in total, because I have been turning my regular commendations in for ranked ones (3 to 1 exhange - you dont need to be 50 to do this). Once I got 3500 ranked ones, I then collected the final 2000 regular ones. So when I hit 50, Ill spend the 2k regular ones, and then transfer my 3.5k ranked ones over to regular ones at 1 to 1. So with 5500 in total I can buy about 5 pieces of BM gear. Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone, Im nearly level 50 and have almost racked up the full amount of commendations (3500 ranked and 2000 regular). I play as Immortal. I find gearing in the game a little confusing with all the options out there. I was wondering what kind of pieces I should be getting with my commendations to fulfill my role as a PvP tank? I think with all the commendations I can get about 5 pieces of BM gear and the rest will be recruit. Thanks!
  4. Hi Schwarzwald, Thanks for the great post to start this thread off. A question. I just dinged level 40 and bought all the Savagery gear. I levelled Vengeance, but run a regular PvP group with my work mates. Obviously I want to help them as best I can, and your philosophy about being viable by locking players down makes a lot of sense. Will a partial version of your spec, say if I put the full 31 points I currently have into Immortal, give me enough of the viability of the tanking juggernaut you describe? Or until I reach 50 am I better off just smashing people's faces with rage? I love the idea of being a prot warrior, but I also dont want to be useless if Ive specced into this too early. Thanks!
  5. Ok that's embarassing! Of course the same vendor would be selling Marauder gear! LOL, sorry for my noobness. That would be the OTHER fundamental difference. But the other question still stands. Go all out crit/surge/power, or stack defence for a non-tank spec? Cheers!
  6. Thanks guys! This makes a lot of sense. One last question. Im collecting my level 40 PvP armor now. Under the assumption that I go with a dps spec in soresu form, would I want to get the gear that has defence and absorption on it, or go for the savagery gear that has crit/accuracy/power? One thing that I find mind boggling is the fact that there are two sets of identical level 40 pvp gear called Savagery and Furious, from the same vendor for the same prices. But the only difference I can see if the Furious gear has less armor on every piece. Am I missing something, but it seems like Furious is inferior and yet in almost all respects the exact same as Savagery. Thanks!
  7. Hey fellow Juggs! I am only level 32 and having a pretty hard time feeling tough with my Jugg. Ive tried all specs a few different times and in terms of my squishiness, I have to admit I haven't noticed much difference between any of them. I am very confused about how PvP armor/stats get balanced in SWTOR. Currently, if I encounter a couple of level 13 dps classes, they pretty much chew me up and spit me out. I thought the immortal Jugg was supposed to be a hell of a lot more durable than this. But I imagine this all has to do with my level or my gear? But when I jump into PvP I notice I have about 13K HP, but then again so does everyone else. So my question is where and when does the actual durability and defensive toughness of the Immortal Jugg come into play? Do I need to gear differently, or does none of it matter until I hit level 50? Does the level 40 Jugg have more survivability than the level 30 Jugg, and if so why even though both may have the same HP? Thanks!
