  1. Aight. I'm back to inform ya'll that Dawn is no longer recruiting on Begeren Colony. After spending a couple of weeks comparing the APAC/Oceanic population of BC to the APAC/Oceanic population of the Harbinger, we have decided there is no point struggling to run content on a destitute server when we can be doing the same thing with ease on another. So Dawn as a guild is slowly transferring it's members over to the Harbinger with only a token force left to f*ck around on BC. On that note, in line with our desire to get as many APAC players in one place as possible, I encourage relevant parties to transfer to the Harbinger. Unlike Begeren Colony, 55 PvP lasts all night, the groupfinder pops frequently, and during 9pm-12am AEST there seems to be 150-200 people on fleet (as opposed to the 10-40 on Begeren Colony). It's basically the Promised Land in comparison. So to all those reading this, this will most likely be the last Dawn update in this thread. Enjoy.
  2. ^ With the release of ESO we lost quite a few veteran players, so right now we're accepting all rolls to prolong Ops happening during APAC times on this server. Considering the imminent release of Wildstar (which has already shown it's going to steal a lot of players fro the server) the remaining Dawn players may be migrating to our sister guild on the Harbinger if the population doesn't continue to support the running of content during APAC times. So if you're in our timezone, and you want to run Ops or PvP during APAC times, sign up. The dwindling Australian population on this server is making group content veeerrrryyy difficult to organize.
  3. Shameless self-bump skillfully masquerading as another status update. RP: F*ck RP (note; this view may not be shared by all guild members). PvE: It's been rough. Getting a time that works for everyone is proving to be challenging, so most of our Ops lately have been spur-of-the-moment whenever there's enough interested people online. We're still in the gearing phase for our newer players so that we can once again put together a 'progression' team. PvP: We kinda gave up on Friday nights. There isn't a high enough APAC population on this server to support consistent PvP games during our prime time hours. So instead we've been grouping up for PvP on Saturday/Sunday during the day (which is Friday/Saturday night for Americans) and it's been a lot of fun. With the release of Elder Scrolls Online, Dawn is going to be losing a couple more of its veterans as regular players. So we are contemplating starting from the ground up (SM TFB/SnV) in gearing for PvE, with 1 or 2 experienced and ridiculously over-geared players making the ride a little easier for everyone else. This means it's the perfect time to jump on board for anyone who is looking to learn about and experience endgame raiding. It should be noted though, that the 'experienced' and 'ridiculously over-geared' players are just as likely to want to bring in alts who actually /need/ the gear. So be prepared to earn your spot. We don't carry people unless we're paid for our trouble :3
  4. Welp since we've entirely derailed the subject based on what appeared to be a discussion about an 8v8 game... Despite evidence to the contrary brought up previously in the thread, I've been solo queueing for regs the past month or so and: - It's rarely one-sided, and if it is it isn't for long. Premades are often comfortably countered by 3-4 good players who aren't queueing together but end up in the same game. - I've seen little-to-no trash talk in ops chat, much less in /say (discounting that one time an assassin literally pulled me into range to interrupt a game-winning cap, and that was his own team trashing him... and well... fair game). - It's... fun. Casual. Whereas this thread alone would lead me to believe 55 PvP on this server could be nothing but a rage-inspiring experience. I'm seeing a lot of anger. Ya'll need to remember while we may be the majority of people who bother posting about PvP on the forums, we're the minority of people queueing for games, talking about only the games we've seen, heard about, or been in. What's said here is by no means the be-all-end-all of what goes in PvP on this server. So, calm your t*ts, and solo cue for some regs once or twice a night. oh wut, this is a ranked thread?
  5. So, as an innocent bystander, what I gather from this thread is; on Harby, the pretentious d*cks who stroll around with big e-peens thinking they're the gods of PvP rather than rolling to Pot5 or Bastion where they can face real competition, are primarily on repside rather than impside? That'll be a change of pace.
  6. Hnnngg. That's half of what I wanted to hear, but I'm generally a repside player. Does it tend to regress into only ImpvImp games late at night? EDIT: Nevermind xD From browsing the Harbinger forums a little it's become pretty obvious that the reps are dominant PvP faction here rather than the imps. Gonna transfer my Sorc over instead of my GS.
  7. I feel like I can sum the last few pages up fairly easily; 1) Congrats are due to DoA for server first Styrak, regardless of taking some of the meaning out of calling it 'progression' by doing it decked out in next-tier gear. It's unfortunate Ascensions self-imposed handicap held them back, but I guess we'll never know who'd have done it first if both teams were on even footing. 2) People who are bad at PvP, telling people who are proven to be good at both PvP AND PvE, that they're bad at PvP, in a PvE thread. 3) Scyn, Jballa and Zuhara have ego's so large we can only stand in awe and hope we are not emotionally crushed before their might. You think you're scared now? They're not even in their final form. Now we can all untwist our panties and go back to grinding for NiM DF/DP.
  8. Howdy. I'm a player from BC, thinking about transferring a 55 over to Harby for sh*ts n giggles in PvP. I was just wondering if 55 PvP on the Harbinger is still active between 9-11pm AEST? Because on Begeren it tends to get slow around 9pm and completely dies around 10pm.
  9. This. Although, gonna have to level my Sniper and beg Eclipse to let me join them in warzones. Right now Dawn has a mighty 2 or 3 people who regularly PvP in 55's, and only 1 of them has any PvP gear. Alternatively.... if there are any aussie 4-mans on repside who need a dps... *hinthint*
  10. Continuing to do it on American Friday night sounds like a plan. ... That way the Aussies queueing on a Saturday afternoon can crush you
  11. Considering everything's been done except NiM Styrak, which is only because Ascension was held back by a scrubby Balance Sage like myself which is no longer the case. I hardly see how it's going to effect BC's 'progression'. But hey, more faces to roll in PvP. Sounds like fun.
  12. <3 As a matter of fact, we do. We even have a separate guild where we store them for our pleasure. Not even joking. Keep an eye out for the 'Ryloth Syndicate' in sub30 PvP. They're all Scoundrels or 'Slingers and they're all Twilek females.
  13. Fix'd. As you can see, they are an exemplary guild who everyone should desire to join. Truly setting the standard for the server.
  14. Don't worry. That statement alone is enough to make it clear that we're not talking about the same kind of PvP. I no longer feel it necessary to ague with you.
  15. So I was just informed of this in a completely different thread;
  16. You're completely wrong. I've never seen anybody go into a warzone, rag on everybody else for being bad - which they're obviously the perfect judge of because they're a Battlemaster and the best <their class> on the server - while not actually contributing to teamwork or the game at all... o wait.
  17. Fixed. 'Cept for the last line that was just irredeemable beyond deletion. If knowing your class and knowing how bolster works was enough to make you 'the best at PvP no matter how you play', I could theoretically be the best Sage healer on the server by going into a warzone and staring at a wall all game.
  18. If you're wearing full purple 66 gear, and augmented, then you shouldn't have an issue jumping into SM 55 ops anyway. The 69 gear is a safety-net if you don't have the skill to back it up, but it's not necessary. Those ops drop 69 gear. So you aren't strictly meant to be wearing 69 gear while you're doing it. If you're really worried about it I'd suggest buying a 69 mainhand hilt/barrel from Czerka, and being fully augmented. And if anyone tells you you're not geared enough, tell them they've clearly been rolling with people who're carried by gear rather than skill.
  19. As the poster above has alluded to. There are multiple versions for the mods in your gear. Examples follow; Armouring: - Advanced Resolve Armouring 31, +74 Endurance, +88 Willpower - Advanced Force Wielder Armouring 31, +84 Endurance, +79 Willpower Mod: - Advanced Aptitude Mod 31, +52 Endurance, +69 Willpower, +57 Power - Advanced Aptitude Mod 31A, +57 Endurance, +84 Willpower, +32 Power - Advanced Aptitude Mod 31B, +74 Endurance, +57 Willpower, +46 Power Enhancement (well there are many, but in this case you're probably looking for): - Advanced Adept Enhancement 31, +46 Endurance, +52 Power, +79 Surge Rating - Advanced Initiative Enhancement, +46 Endurance, +79 Accuracy Rating, +52 Power The game is designed so that those best in slot components are harder to get and take more time to obtain. While the Aptitude Mods can be obtained from the Elite/Ultimate comm vendor, the correct enhancements cannot be, the same can be said for some of the armourings. But as you can see from the above, pieces that provide the superior willpower you're looking for are available, generally in pieces of gear dropped from Operations.
  20. In case anyone was wondering. Dawn is still recruiting. As for the state of the guild at the moment: - RP. I really don't know, as I'm not an RPer, but it seems to be flourishing. Someone else get in here and discuss it. - PvE. After successfully integrating a few new members we've been regularly running SM DF/DP on Sunday/Monday nights to gear people up for tackling harder content. It's likely that that will continue for a while, but some HM SnV/DF is planned as soon as we notice that everyone's gear is up to scratch. We still don't have enough regulars for a 16 man, so there is still plenty of space for new people to join in. -PvP... what PvP? I kid. Some of our members PvP regularly, and we've been running Friday nights as a designated 'PvP night'. Albeit a bit unsuccessfully because people have lives and would prefer to be out drinking and socialising rather than stomping pugs. Weak. I know. But the interest is there so we hope it'll start taking off soon.
  21. Paz for best Sentinel. And double points for not jumping on the lolsmash train. Mydian for best Sage DPS. Because, I am the greatest, and **** you that's why. Only other players who've particularly stuck out to me are Ursh (Scoundrel heals) and Flux (Guardian tank) who are both of a calibur that clearly transcends the rest of the scrubs on this server. #shotsfired
  22. /swallow sadness /send some faxes /call a sex line /cry deeply /demand a refund Kinda pisses me of that this: a) was unplanned maintenance. No warning whatsoever. b) Was reported to be 30 minutes of downtime. Lies. All lies. c) Due to the above, is now cutting into APAC prime-time. Was supposed to be starting a guild run of DP right now. All of the impotent rage.
  23. On that note. It's unlikely we'll get the whole raid group's achievements for Dash and Titan, since opinions on this thread are divided xD But. A few of the achievement screens have been posted, and I took these two recently: Dash - http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/2416540/pics/original/2330943.jpg Titan - http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/2416540/pics/original/2330944.jpg Which contain the whole raid group, the bosses corpses, and a raid member in the chat box receiving the <Survived [bossname] Nightmare Mode> achievement, to prove it is indeed NiM. I'm not sure if that's sufficient, but I figured it's worth a shot. We're obviously not trying to claim the first, just proving that we have indeed done them without skipping via switching to hard mode.
  24. This. If you were on Dalborra, your characters will have been moved to Harbinger. If you were on Gav Daragon, your characters will have been moved to Begeren Colony. If you were on... the PvP server, your characters will have been moved to the Bastion.
  25. As you could guess from the title, <Dawn> is now recruiting. While it's an open recruitment, we are primarily searching for skilled and mature players who're happy to use our guild forums and jump in vent to do Operations repside between 7-10pm AEST (2-5am PDT). Oldschool players from the APAC RP server will probably recognise us; we are the same Dawn, same players, as the guild back on the Gav Daragon. As such, you know how we roll. Focused primarily on RP and end-game PvE, we derp around doing our thing our way. For anyone who hasn't heard of us; We're an Australian based guild that's been focused on RP and end-game PvE since launch. That's not to say we don't run flashpoints or do PvP, just that when it happens it's more spur of the moment than a planned thing. While we do have an alt guild Impside, we are primarily Republic players, so that is where the vast majority of our guild-run events take place. Being a bunch of people who've been playing together and with new people across multiple games for the past year or two (swtor, LoL, GW2, FFXIV, and a couple of steam games) we are rocking a pretty friendly and comfortable atmosphere that's easy to become a part of. As mentioned above, while it is an open recruitment, the main reason behind this is because between now and when the Oceanic servers were closed we retained more than enough members to RP and run ops on a regular basis. But due to the release of multiple other games, RL circumstances, and people simply losing interest in the game, we have been struggling for numbers lately. With this recruitment we hope to bring in some new blood to bump our current regular ops team up from an 8 man to a 16 man, find some new faces to RP with if that's your thing, or even potentially find a new PvP Officer as all our current guild leaders are pretty casual about the PvP side of things. The only things we expect from our members are: 1. Everybody likes to dick around, talk sh*t, and have fun, but at the end of the day you will treat your fellow guildies with the respect everyone deserves as equals. 2. The guild forums are used primarily for messing around, but also for organising ops times and other events. So if you want to be in the know about guild events, you'll have to keep an eye on them. 3. We use the voice-chat program Ventrilo to communicate during Operations. Anyone who participates in guild runs is also expected to use it. You don't have to talk if you're not comfortable with it, but you do have to be able to listen. So, if you're an oldschool player looking for some familiar faces, a fresh player looking for people in the same timezone, or even just someone who's curious about the guild; feel free to reply to this thread, or check us out at: http://azurewingsofdawn.enjin.com EDIT: Also, please sent messages about invites or information to; this thread, the aforementioned guild forums, or Dawn players in-game. Don't send private messages to me via these forums as I generally review this without logging in, so your messages won't get replies because I don't log in to receive them.
