  1. I'm new to this server and to RP. I'm looking for a group of people that are willing to take on a noob to RP and teach them how to do it properly. I've looked at that old website, it's like reading novels, very interesting and so well done. I'm also looking for a guild that does both pvp and pve moderate-heavy. But I think with the knowledge that I'm totally new to RP, a light RP guild would be preferable. Side doesn't matter as I like both. Classes I tend to stick with are anything with guns. I'm not much of a glowstick person. I like the community on the server so far, just need to find my place in it. Thanks! Lili
  2. Another new post requesting 12x XP: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=788521 Again, trying to keep this all in one spot for easy reading should Devs decide to take a look. Thanks!
  3. LadyVix, I am glad that someone gets my points. I am, apparently to the other jerk, too stupid and incapable of stating what I mean and "understanding" his point of view. So again, I'm glad that you were able to put those thoughts into words. I will state again that I am strongly for 12x XP not just because I want "easy mode" questing--yes, some of us do, we're tired of the old content and want to get alts to the new stuff, and yes, to do that new stuff repetitively because we like the new content...., but I also would like to see it come back because I haven't seen all the class stories yet and I know lots of other people haven't either. As LadyVix stated, there were only a couple of things I experienced negatively during the 12x XP event, which was that I had to constantly buy gear to be able to kill the mobs needed for those quests, which caused me to spend literal millions by the time i was done. The second thing was that I could not keep up with professions (crew skills). Even if I went pure gathering, I couldn't keep up with the skill level required on each planet because I was leveling so fast. I have this problem on WoW, too, with all the speed leveling that can be done there, also. Which brings me to a thought I had: BioWare isn't the only company to implement ways to level faster... This has been done on several MMOs but most notably, WoW. WoW has BoA gear (bind on account) that provides not just 10% or 5% XP bonus to all forms of XP, but also increases in stats as you level. If some people are so opposed to 12x XP, why not suggest BW provide a type of BoA gear too, then? Adaptive armor and dropping mods into it are NOT BoA gear. It costs money/mats to upgrade it each time you can. If you're speed leveling, you aren't getting a lot of cash, mats, comms. So what if each starting planet had a vendor that sold "BoA" gear for significant amounts of credits? I'm not talking 1mil for 1 piece, but like 200k for a chest, legs, helm, 100k for boots, gloves, belt, and bracers. Everything else would have to be purchased or gained thru quests. This gear would increase in stats as you level and can be given to alts but must adhere to armor types (heavy, medium, light, as well as main stats such as willpower, cunning, etc). This would mean that people would have to buy a set of 6 pieces for each main class. The armor appearance could take on the lvl 50 PvE sets that a lot of people would like to see return to the game as Adaptive armor. Let's even say you could purchase some of that gear with WZ comms, so you have something to spend those extra comms on. This is obviously not a new concept, WoW has had this in place for several years and it has not destroyed their econ. People that play the AH do that just fine. If each "main" piece of gear (helm, chest, legs) were 10% and each other piece of gear were 5% each (boots, gloves, belt, bracers), that would be 50% xp gain from the gear. Add in the 25% boost you get from quests and cartel (if you buy any), and any legacy unlocks you choose to purchase, and you would end up AROUND the 120% xp gain which is similar to 2x XP (also including the maximum 10% guild boost). The idea behind this type of system is that people would have several different ranges of XP gains. Not everyone is going to be able to afford to buy this "BoA" gear, just like not everyone can afford to unlock all the legacy perks or even just a couple of them. So your xp gains would range from 10% and 25% (guild and boosts) to about 120% total between having EVERYTHING. So there's your money sink to add to the money sinks (BoA gear and legacy perks), but also allows people that would like to level faster, to level faster. As I'm sure a certain person will pick this apart and tell me how stupid I am and how terrible this idea is, I'm going to leave it at that and not feed him further. Thank you to everyone else who has stated their positions on this.
  4. For the most part, the OP is actually correct: get in their face and force them to have to move, which stops around 50% of the use of their abilities. Sure they still have access to instant cast abilities, but those are usually on timers and not as strong as the cast abilities. Also, every WZ I'm in I see people allowing these Sorcs/sages to stand in the back as the OP stated, free casting. I always feel like I'm the only one going after them, marking a healer, etc.
  5. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=787652 New post requesting 12x XP. Trying to keep them all in one spot, ty
  6. This is true. Even in WoW I noticed a certain personality of players flocked to one side or the other, and that, in my experience, the Horde was better at casual pvp than the Alliance. In arenas, it was anyone's game. Being a psychology major I can't help but notice the strange things like that. It DOES seem like Imps really like to pvp a lot, vs the pubs. Just my thoughts, tho.
  7. Join the dark side. We don't have Wookies but we have Cookies! Actually, I kind of hear what you mean; when I was leveling on the pub side recently, I noticed that it felt as if the Imps won a lot, however, if you play on the Imp side, you will suddenly feel the opposite. It's the nature of the game. It also depends on what times of the day/night you play as to who wins the most. I used to actually keep a tally and pvp all day (on the pub side!), where I kept track of the time, which WZ it was, if it was pubs v imps or pubs v pubs, if we lost or won, and if it was a roflstomp or a good game or whatever. I haven't actually done this in like, a year or so since I took some time off for WoW (again). Maybe you could do something similar and provide some sort of evidence for BW? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm suggesting giving them something to look at.
  8. Having to actually play the game? You're another person that didn't read much. Several of us have posted all the toons we've leveled to 50-60 and all the little lowbies we have besides. It really amazes me how so many people cannot grasp the idea that many other people are tired of seeing the same stuff over and over and over just to level alts. I guess it really is that hard to understand wanting to get a new toon to max level and the new content.
  9. I miss this ability more in pve than pvp. I feel there are too many people (those sorcs!) using aoe in pvp as it is, but for questing, I have had so many encounters where having that ability back would have been so much more helpful than focusing down targets one at a time in a big group of targets. I also use the frag grenade but like you said, it has a CD and it doesn't do what I would call "good" aoe dmg. I realize that the orbital strike ability also has a CD but at least it did good dmg. My concealment ops is lvl 30; I know sorcs/sages get their aoes early on. Why not give everyone their aoes at the same level? And of course, bring back OS for Ops. Certainly would make questing a lot easier.
  10. You must feel pretty highly of yourself to speak for everyone by saying the rest of us have poor skill levels in this game. "Disastrously low"..... well then, please tutor the rest of us on how to be awesome. In regards to being selfish, see my previous post. Don't read the first post in a multi-page thread and then make a fool of yourself by making statements like this. So you are going to tell people what to say in favor of how YOU feel and call the rest of us that want it selfish? Again, you should read more than the original post. I provided a link and a brief summary of a developer talking to a fan regarding the 12x XP and it was well liked by the devs. It's fine that you don't agree with having the 12x XP back, that is your opinion. Those of us that want it are asking that it be an option to those that do. I've said that in every post I've made, which again suggests that you didn't actually read anything. Looked at the title and then said your (rather selfish) piece. So many of us are "vocal" about it because we liked it and would like to see it back. You seem to think there is something wrong with that. I'm sure then, that whenever there was something you felt strongly about you never said a word, right? Oh except for your little post here, of course.
  11. Delusional? What are my "delusions"? I've leveled up a lvl 60, a few 55s, 2 50s and countless lowbies the "hard way". I got ONE character done thru the 12x XP (my fault for not taking better advantage, as I mentioned before, I was playing WoW's new content). People that are opposed to this idea seem to have the same finger pointing argument: you all seem to think we're lazy, but I just proved (as have a few others that stated so) that I'm not. I've been a sub since day 1 with this game, and once the 12x XP left, I stayed. So your theory that once we got what we wanted we'd leave is incorrect. As to those that think we're selfish in wanting faster leveling.... wake up. PLEASE. Blizzard slashed the required amount of XP needed to level each time a new expansion came out after BC. Why? Because they KNEW that the players would continue to make alts (over and over it seems), and would rather just get thru the old stuff fast and get to the new stuff--which is what holds the interest of the gamer, btw...the NEW stuff. Another person made a ridiculously long-winded post about how selfish those of us that want the 12x XP are and how we want to exclude any new players... I personally disagree with making ridiculous requirements to having the 12x XP, I think it should be available to all SUBS. If you wish to "flame" me about Sub vs F2P, please read an earlier post I made where I clearly state I have nothing against anyone's chosen form of play. I just felt that it being a Sub only option would create more subs. To the person that thinks I'm suggesting Subs are greater than all...LoL at you for putting words in my mouth. I don't discredit anyone by how they choose to play the game. I just would like to see more OPTIONS. I don't get why for some people, it is so hard to see that people should want to quickly get thru the old content with alts so they can get to the new content, where the real interest is. I find myself feeling very burnt out on drudging through all that old stuff. I honestly do not know what the people are referring to that claim the game is already fast enough at leveling. If you have some magic wand that makes it faster, please share. I have maxed out legacy on the things I do the most: WZs, exploration (since you do that as you quest), and class quest XP, plus I buy the XP boosts from cartel or GTN and use the ones I get from quests and I STILL feel like only getting 5 or 6 levels in an ENTIRE DAY and NIGHT of leveling is just way too slow. If you don't want to agree to 12x XP being an OPTION (which means you don't have to do it...), than please at LEAST agree to the idea of slashing the required amt of XP needed by a large margin from levels 1-55. Those of you that continue to call us selfish...I call YOU selfish, for only wanting the elitist snobs at level 60 enjoying the endgame content. Shame on you for not sharing and not thinking of the other people that would like to get to the endgame content as well.
  12. @EnkiduNineEight Congrats on turning something that was supposed to be a considerate thread into a giant argument. I'd give you a cookie but I didn't make any for you. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but you still choose to make it fact and force feed it on others. There are obviously plenty of people that wouldn't use such a boost if made as an option, so therefore your preferred playstyle would not be compromised. And since there are plenty of people that would LIKE to have the boost, they too, would get something they want. As stated many times before, you still have to level in class stoylines so you still have to learn your character's skills; so stating that it makes people less able to play their class is not true. It is up to the individual if they want to level faster or not. If you like going through the same quests and planets over and over and over again for each class/spec you want, that's your choice. If you decided that you've seen it enough and would rather just do your class story and get to level cap so you can play the endgame with all your buddies, that's your choice. I support the 12x XP because it actually made leveling a lot more fun for me (and for many others that have responded in several of the links provided, not just this one). Stop trying to turn this into an argument and pick on people for wanting something that the game has already provided once as if that alone broke everything. I am now going to go on record (again) as saying that I support 12x XP, as is my right to choose to do so. So... YES
  13. Your statement is of course, your opinion, now learn to stated not as fact. Because the FACT of the matter is, tons of people have seen all this content over and over and over and tons of us know how to play the game at least at an intermediate level (AKA, non-beginners). It is of the opinion of SEVERAL people that this should be an OPTION (I'm getting real tired of having to state that because people are too lazy to read). If you don't want to use it...DON'T. There's no reason to have a very high legacy requirement, as that would make it a ridiculous requirement to skipping the content you had to do over and over and over just to NOT have to do the content over and over and over. Read the link I provided where a developer talks to a fan, it wasn't used JUST to get up to speed in character skill mechanic changes, because those changes take affect early on in levels.
  14. In your opinion, which isn't fact for everyone. I personally found it fun to "walk behind the droid and loot". Oh yeah, I helped out tho... Sounds to me like you want an unfair, overly difficult game. Try Wildstar. Lots of elitists like you there. Oricon was the last added area. You're comparing the end of one expansion to the start of another. Not apples to apples here. So you're saying that looting gear in the solo flash points (or even doing it as a group because you can...) means that people suddenly become stupid and suddenly forget how to play the game? Hmm. Wonder what happened? I seem to remember how to play still. I must be broken. Feel free to join their team and do better? Race? It takes ages compared to WoW to level. You seem to have an issue with entry level. I suppose you didn't accept those "presented on a silver platter" pieces of gear and went with your greens into HM FPs and also didn't give your companions any of that gear either? How about you also only allow yourself to gain 100 comms per day NOTHING MORE, and grind up gear the hard way? And while you're at it, go find a server (or make one) that is elitists only and do everything with those people only (if you can stand it)? That's what it sounds like you want. Because reading between the lines, you're saying that elitists know everything and people that accept the game as it is and the gear they get know nothing. No? You're asking that we don't compare MMO's to MMO's. All MMOs are created around a basic format: quests, story, mobs, gear, pvp, dungeons, etc. BTW, WoW doesn't "hand out" gear, you still have to do dungeons and raids for that. Too bad you don't have to do that for better gear on SWTOR. Oh wait... One more thing: can I have your credits and stuff before you go? Thanks!
  15. Which side? I have been guildless since I've played this game lol. I started at launch but was only off and on playing since WoW was my main focus but WoD isn't holding my attention so of late, I've focused solely on SWTOR. I have characters on both sides but I'm looking for a good community. I've raided on WoW for 8 years, played it for 9, mostly as a healer. I've also done a lot of pvp on both games, but more serious on wow with arenas (as a healer). I only have 1 lvl 60 on this game as it takes ages to level, but have the notion that I want more than 1. The character I'm focused on right now is named Liliornin on the pub side, or Ani'ka on the imps if you wanted to send any in-game tells/mail. Thanks.
