  1. I personally play for fun more so than to complete a daily. Yes most times I'm with a premade we stomp, but its boring. The best matches are the close ones. even just spreading the healers across both teams would be awesome. it is incredibly boring as a healer to be on a team with 3 healers and incredibly frustrating to be tank / DPS on a team with zero healers vs a team with 3 healers.
  2. F2Ps goal was to have more players around so subs would have people to play with, not to be a trail. I have never seen a Bioware rep state F2P is a trial, do you have a source for that? The reality is you need lots of people around for the MMO part of MMORPG. To give a real world example of why F2P players important, I discussed coming back to play with a friend who, left the game around 5 years ago. We were going to level and do some PvP to see if we wanted to play long term. I came to check out things first, found out about the 5 pvp matches limit per week for preferred. He decided that if that's how they are treating players he didn't want to play. My temp sub run outs in ~30 days. I won't be renewing it. There are those who will be happy to see people like me go because I won't deal with EA / Bioware's stupidity but you need more people than the hardcore fanboys if you want to avoid another server merge.
  3. A major issue isn't being on a losing team, its map choice. A real simple solution to this would be to show you the map that your going to enter when the queue pops and then if you don't like that map you leave queue and re-queue in a few minutes. it accomplishes the same thing as leaving to avoid a map.
  4. I'm not sure of how you define bad guys, but imho Bioware fits the typical bad guy description here way better than the thread starter. No insults were said to against Bioware, only a simple demand. Give us the service we pay you for or we will not pay you. If that is going hurt the Dev's feelings maybe they should find a new line of work?
  5. Hard games are fine, huttball for the 5th time in a row isn't. I don't mind losing on a map I enjoy, I played enough huttball at launch to last a lifetime.
  6. As for why there are less pub players, at launch the Devs admitted they mostly played imp and had not noticed several issues with pub classes that their imp counterparts did not suffer from. I imagine thats still the case today as the pub story line is a Disney storyline and the imp one is more realistic (comparing trooper to BH in this case).
  7. You don't contemplate putting a product end of life without a reason, also I imagine Bioware has dedicated very little forum moderation resources to this game. Frankly I'm not spending any more money until I know I won't be throwing it away. Kotaku has more credibility than EA / Bioware in my eyes especially after the all the Mass Effect issues. Kotaku called EA on Mass Effect, EA denied it and later on they did exactly as Kotaku said they were going to do.
  8. More people read the article in a day then I bet visit these forums in a week. If you think people don't make decisions based off this stuff, look at the stock market.
  9. I came back because of the server merges after leaving roughly 5 years ago. I've subbed for 2 months and I'm on star forge right now which isn't bad, but I based off being back 3 weeks I sense its starting to die down again pvp wise like it did at launch. Any thoughts on what server will have the most PvP longevity? I'm not really anticipating the current burst of activity to last more then 3 months so I just want to transfer my legacy and enjoy PvPing there until it dies down again. I have my Imp and Rep chars, but my Imp ones are geared so i'd be playing PvP for that faction. Also, please make all maps cross faction, just give those who don't want to play a play cross faction an option to opt out of it and they can play when there is enough people on their side. The rest of us having matches more often and ones with less predictable outcomes.
  10. All the hardcore pvpers talk about how they want competitive game play. the sports world is the epitome of competitive play so yes it does compare. that being said i'm not a huge proponent of being hugely competitive, but the comparison is apt imho.
  11. - So the random bag thing is out the window for both sides - One side gets 2x to 3x the comms the other does per match - one side has more pre-mades by a long shot who do you think is going to gear up faster? if they had done this change without the random bags being gone it would still be a problem. there is nothing more competitive than professional sports. and the team that went to the superbowl last year doesn't get 2x more than the rest of the NFL the next year. They get a BONUS.
  12. I guess getting highest dps and protection on your team isn't doing much. I'm not the best in the world but i normally get 1-3 highest dps and 1-3 highest protection. The sports world doesn't just pay who wins the superbowl / world series / etc. if they did you'd see ALOT less teams. The old system was good because on servers like mine the imperials outnumber us 3 to 1 and we often start out down 1-2 players. also the imps have more premades and the lower repub pop makes it hard to be in a premade. now there are less people to play with. They should have just put more effort into cross server queues than these changes. in response to...... - roll a new character on a another server - use chat more often - L2P and teach your team while your in the WZ - find a pre-made on your under-populated faction BIOWARE DO YOUR JOB.
