  1. interesting how you hit guys grouped up on you when you cannot hit within a certain distance of you. Not to mention, I'm not powertech so I can't grapple them in.
  2. I find reading this pretty humorous concidering dead center placement between 3 mobs I hit none of them yesterday. Simply not possible to hit more then 2 of many groups unless somehow you have a larger area being covered. We all know you have the same area as the rest of us, so that leaves one possibility. I'm done reading big claims of the same capability for today. can only handle so much of people making stuff up. If you have to resort to lying in order to say it's not a nerf, don't post.
  3. exact same total to fewer targets, and if you are not in PVP, knocks most if not all targets out of the area with the first tic. So no, not the "same EXACT TOTAL damage as before" If they wanted to nerf it, they should have lowered the overall damage, not made it so you cannot hit 1/2 as many targets. I can't say for myself, but have heard it was OP in PVP, but that requires people to stand there and take the damage instead of taking 3 steps to get out of it. They made the change to balance PVP, and in the process made it pointless in PVE.
  4. From my understanding, it can, just isn't likely. However, I have not seen proof one way or the other.
  5. I'm not positive, have not tried it myself, but if you put low level mods (all slots) into the orange item, you can then RE the item, but for less matts then the cost of even level one mods.
  6. my only real complaint comes from the fact, as I've stated before, agent and inquisitor AOEs have been bigger and more powerful then DFA from the start, yet the weaker DFA is the one that got nerfed. I kill 3-4 members of a group of 5 standard mobs on my agent who has not even run a single heroic FP, and has to one shot the 1-2 remaining mobs and take almost no damage. On my BH, who is in all purple gear, has been on a few raids, etc, I damage 1 of those same mobs significantly, scratch 1-2 of them before knocking them out of the radius, and take 50-70% damage before all 5 are dead. So in my PURPLE HEAVY armor I'm taking way more damage in the same fights as in my GREEN and ORANGE medium armor. That makes no sense. Both are DPS spec.
  7. And what about those like me who don't do PVP and now have an ability that used to be usefull, but now without it take more then tripple the damage just doing dailies. I have to heal myself up after every fight instead of 4-5 pulls before stopping to heal. With full columni set, and every other slot a purple item as well, this isn't OP. I know a few people who do all of Ilum without ever stopping to heal who are less geared then I am. My suggestion would be to give us the radius back but nerf the damage if you need to. at least we'd be able to hit more then 2 or 3 mobs, and wouldn't knock all but one of them out of the radius with the first tic. I guess warriors have less AOE capability, but agent and inquisitor both have bigger AOEs that do more damage. DFA is now a fluf ability, I've stopped using it, and only run dailies now to farm money for my other toons. Won't play any FP or OP on my BH until we have a usable DFA again. Not to mention, the repair bills are now much higher because I'm fighting with no AOEs and have to one by one kill each target in a pull where I used to hit the full group, then 1 or 2 shots on each of the remaining targets. Instead of NERFING BH PVE, try to find a way to make things work better in PVP without affecting PVE.
  8. This is exactly why I have abandoned my second BH. I was going to make him a powertech tank because I enjoyed playing my merc, however, DFA was the best pull ability for a BH, and it now does almost nothing. Can't gain agro on a group if you can't hit most of them. Yes there are other abilities for the powertech tank, but none of them had the agro capability needed to start a fight.
  9. made up math? so the fact that it's hitting 39.0some percent of the origional area and is not capable of hitting the same number of mobs means you're still hitting the same number of mobs? I don't think we're the ones with screwed up logic... not to mention a little experiment I ran last night. I just hit 50 on my agent, so I dismissed my companion, went to ilum, and used orbital strike on trash mob groups of 5. Only paid attention on those groups since they are the largest found. my agent does not have a single purple item, all orange and green. I would have to hit 1 or 2 of the 5 mobs once to finish them off. I then did the same thing with my BH (full columni set and the rest also purple) and never hit more then 3 targets, and never had more then 1 of the targets take more then 1 tick off DfA because they were knocked out of the radius.
  10. so the fact that we hit 1/2 as many targets, and knock them out of the area with the first tick means we're still doing the same damage? I guess my math needs some work.
  11. The radius nerf gives us a total area about 40% the size it used to be. This is simple math (8m radius = 201 meters square, 5m radius = 78.5 meters square, 78.5 = 39% of 201) So we hit 40% of the area we used to hit, and knock everyone out of the area (in PVE) with the first tick. If it is centered on a target, that single target will take all the hits, I've yet to see more then 1 target take the full damage from it, the others take almost nothing. Also, with the total diameter being 10m (5m radius x 2) instead of 16m (8m radius x 2) we hit fewer mobs then any other AOE I've seen. I haven't played a sith warrior yet, but the other imperial classes have much larger AOEs that do more damage. On my agent, I clear a group of trash mobs in one use of orbital bombardment, or at minimum, bring them down to one hit kills. I never did that much with my BH's DfA, and he is in much better gear. DfA is now barely more usefull then walking away from the keyboard during a fight. When trying to pull groups of trash mobs while doing dailies, I am now finding myself often laying down a rain of missles that damages not a single mob because I place it between them like I always have. The MOST mobs I've hit on a pull now is 2. That's hardly an AOE.
  12. There are some addons I would like to see, like a DPS meter, to see how changes you make affect your overall damage output. Other addons like WoW's deadly boss mods, just tell you what you would learn by fighting the boss a few times anyway, so I don't see a point in them beyond not wanting to learn anything. Another addon, I believe it was called HealBot was good. I used on my priest in WoW, all it did is put a secondary UI component you could turn on and off that made it easier to keep track of which person needed healing, and put the healing buttons directly on their panels so it would target and cast with one click. This made dungeons and raids a lot easier on a healer.
  13. I've seen a lot of really extreme reactions on here... Yes, BH got a big nerf, no it's not the end of the world, but I'm shelving my BH until there is another update because I find going from taking 5% to 10% damage per battle doing ilum dailies to taking 70% damage per battle a little extreme. Am I the only one who's seeing a huge increase in damage taken?
  14. Personally I haven't seen any complaints about it not being done already. I've only seen discussions about how people think it should be done. However, as for not making such a change soon, I don't think it'll take as long as you seem to think. This content was planned before the game was released, just like legacy was planned, but so far gives nothing more then a last name. From what I've read, it looks like some legacy benefits will be available with the next patch, which is slated for early next month. From what they've officially announced, it's already a major content patch. Even if they do NOT include SGR in that patch, it's not going to be far behind.
  15. That doesn't take into account bisexuality. A bisexual would engage in courtship with a man, or a woman. Not to mention that this is a game with a limited number of companions. do you suggest making entirely new companions for same sex relationships? And when do those companions become available? Do people who want SGRs have to wait till level 50 to get a new SGR companion? Hardly seems fair to me. Also, there are thousands of "copies" of each companion around. What's to say one is strait but another isn't? What's to say they just haven't had the chance before? There are many real life people who partake in straight relationships even though they are not. I know a woman who was married to a man before he came clean and admited that he was gay. That was NOT a unique case. It happens all the time because social norms make them feel there is something wrong with themselves for being themselves.
