  1. Hello. Quick question. I re-subbed and looks like I should get the new content (and expansions?) with a sub so I am asking do I need to download something or will it just unlock once my launcher updates the game since it has been awhile for me?

    Thanks!

  2. All I am saying why couldn't they just keep the core game alone for those who bought it. Like not trying to nickle and dime them with features they had when they bought the game. Like Interface options, access to all the races they had on day one.

Ahhh so you mean why didn't they keep it pay to play and not go f2p? The core game as a sub is exactly what it is always been. All of those you just mentioned come with a sub. If you are thinking of going preferred status and have to purchase those unlocks, well that is tough. You are playing the game for free.

So now to answer the question again now that I understand a little better at what you are getting at, I still don't feel like I got screwed over at all. I continue to pay $15 and I continue to get everything I did then.

  3. Nope. I pre-ordered the CE and never regretted once. I didn't buy it for the in-game fluff and vendor. I purchased it for all the other things that came with it. It was a one time purchase. Why should I feel entitled to more stuff now when I bought it 2 years ago?

To add, and not trying to be rude so hopefully it won't come off that way, but I have no idea what you are really trying to say. Your paragraphs were hard for me to understand the way you worded things along with grammar issues which I was trying to figure out. So I replied off what I thought you were trying to get at. Again, English may not be your first language and everyone has typos or grammar issues, but I just had a hard time trying to get what you wanted to say.

  4. there's a urge to add new classes. 2 would be a good start, 4 will earn them our respect.

    4 classes=

    -4 new stories

    -8 new advanced classes

-20 new companions to hang out with

    -2 or 4 new ships

-maybe 2 or 4 new starting planets (4 can be done easily, considering how small some are)

-at least 2 new makeb quests *

that would be rewarding your subscribers the good way, not with cheap fireworks and paintings

*they could put half of the new classes in Republic and the other one in Empire,or , better, create a new faction with the 4 new classes

Please don't speak for me. They already have my respect because I love the game and I respect the job they have done so far. If they don't make anymore classes I would still love the game and be fine with that.

I love all these armchair developers who think they know what's best for everyone and what everyone wants and what everyone should have. I especially love how this poster says they don't have "our" respect (since they are posting for all of us I guess) unless they create 4 new classes. LMAO

  5. And I would like to see more than one planet, smaller ones. Reason being that Makeb easily managed to outdo Alderaan, Voss and Corellia in loading time and general lagginess (thankfully it did not in travel times thanks to its teleporting shuttles and numerous taxi points).

I agree some, but I guess I am one of the only ones but I never really felt any laginess on any of the planets you mentioned along with load times which I never really noticed or took long enough to notice. That's why I would like to see more in depth planets again. Those felt more like a planet to me then Makeb did. But I am fine with any route they go.

  6. I don't think they will release a full blown expansion imo. It will likely be how RotHC was as I am sure it showed success. I would like to see a more in depth planet though in the next one like how one of the original planets were with a couple operations, new flashpoints and wz.

Heck, maybe they are working on a full blown expansion too which would have a couple planets and a 10 lvl increase. Who knows though. I wouldn't hold my breath on a big expansion though. Not that it is a bad thing but just saying.

  7. To be honest, I believe EA made the 1st large mistake by killing SWG (via LA raising their IP fees which EA asked for and got) for no competition for this game. That very situation caused a boat-load of hate and discontent at the start of this game via the fans EA/Bioware needed for this game. And, as many are probably aware, SWG vets can hold a grudge for years upon years, post about their discontent on EVERY forum that will let them, keep the "word of mouth" advertising going years after, and really not tire of any of it. I still see comments here about CU/NGE/C6CD (the changes that SWG went thru via bad management from SOE) in this very thread.

The above didn't surprise me one bit tho. Dallas Dickerson et al (up to his elbows in the NGE and worked for SOE Austin, in fact I remember him well from his old SOE days - how could any1 forget) was one of the top decision makers at Bioware and his/their bad decisions continue up to this date. They also got a few of the "better developers" from SWG/SOE as well. Adept-strain is over here also and he has got to be one of Bioware's best assets. The problem is, they need a Bioware version of T-2 (and Adept could probably fill this position) as producer running the place that actually listens, developes for, and talks to the playerbase with more than the SOE dev speak of "tinfoil hat" remarks or the SOE adage of "ignore them, they'll go away" attitudes. Dickerson wasn't around SOE the last 2 years and didn't see the partnership between the playerbase and what was left of the SOE Austin that was actually working on SWG. So he never learned how to do it. Adept did tho and Bioware would be smart to include this resume on their decision makers now.

I'm on a 7 day free sub deal and I really doubt that 7 days will convince me to sub to TOR again. I've kinda kept up with the additions they have made to TOR since launch and it all looks like more of the same design, to me anyway. I left shortly after launch and I have to admit I'm still a little ticked off about the way EA handled SOE/SWG still, as well. I don't wish this game to die, just really couldn't care less, to be honest. I'm still very familiar with losing a game that you played for years and years and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

You should actually do some research first instead of posting through the SWG rose tinted goggles.

First of all, SWG at its peak couldn't pass 300k subs and there wasn't even WoW out then. Didn't have tons of competition except mostly from UO, EQ and a couple others.

Secondly, SWG was a sandbox box. It has nothing to do with BioWare and their version of SW. Completely different games other then both had lightsabers. Why not compare WoW to CoD?

SOE did NOT make a mistake in pulling the plug on SWG. It did it for a reason. Maybe the 10-20k people left, if that and didn't feel the upkeep was worth it due to not making money. That was a smart business move. People seem to think that SWG was the almighty and had a strong player base when in fact it didn't.

The majority of the people prefer theme parks vs sandbox games. If you don't believe me then how many active ones are there along with the active accounts? ToR at it's lowest still was way above SWG at its highest. Let's see how The Repopulation does as it is a full sandbox game along with EQ Next which may do okay because of its fan base but I bet Eq1 and EQ2 would still do better then EQ Next. The majority of the people want to see rewards for their efforts and completely hard end game bosses for gear is one way vs getting excited over farming gas with your harvester cluttering up the area and crafting a gun.

Don't get me wrong I loved SWG because it was SW but mostly because it was my first mmo (other then UO which I only played for like a couple weeks because I didn't like it). But what made me love it so much was the community. Without them I may not have stayed as long as I did. I look back now and all I did in SWG was defending our guilds or allies bases during vulnerability, sit in a cantina and socialize, or go out and level new skills since you could change your skills in a matter of a couple days.

  8. ^this... but i would preffer if those patches weren't always pro-yank time ;) it's the middle of the day in here and i have a free day. Why not screwing with american players? It's early morning now in there. Maybe for ONCE bw could implement patch in american prime time? I'm not troling, just wanted to know why they preffer americans? Does us of a have more subs?

So if let's say England, had a big name mmo. Do you really think they would cater to everyone else's time or be on their own time? I would say the latter.

Also I would bet money that the majority of the active accounts are from players in North America vs Europe or Australia.

  9. I hear you. I just finished typing an email because I didn't win MegaMillions last night.

    I hear ya on that.

I just wrote a letter to Topps and cc'ed the BBB, Michelle Obama, and the parking attendant at Knott's Berry Farm because I purchased 40 packs of baseball cards and didn't get the one I wanted along with a few packs had broken gum sticks. Such BS!!!!!!!

  10. You have to realize.. some people don't even know stickyed posts exist (or they flat out don't read them)...even though they are right there.

These same people are likely unable or uninclined to follow links in a summary thread.... either because they are link averse....OR.. because they never see the summary thread because it is stickyed in plain sight.

Heh, it doesn't matter if they are stickyed or not. People seem to not see any thread right in front of them or there wouldn't be so many identical topics a lot of times. (Not just ToR but all other mmo forums this happens too)

  11. I'd rather someone make a new SW MMO then keep this one going. SWTOR is a good game and people like to play it, but that's primarily because it's "Star Wars" imo.

There is sooo much potential for a SW MMO. Real open space. Large living open worlds. Vehicle usage in PvP.

SWTOR was a good attempt and I'm glad the game was made. A lot of lessons were learned.

You are talking about a sandbox version of SW which I know you are hinting at SWG. Already been done and bombed. They couldn't even get 300k active subs and this was before WoW and all the other mmo's after. No thanks to another sandbox SW. For me anyways.

  12. /Agree with Rafaman's assessment.

PvP will always be a disappointment IF PvP is why you play MMOs. That's just the nature of the beast here. PvP is a side game, it's not why most of us are here. We are here for more then that.

The Missions and the stories associated with them have made this MMO one of the most pleasant to level characters in. Even running new alts is pleasant and offers sufficient variety in leveling so as to not feel the need to take an ice pick to your forehead.

What is funny is even pvp based mmo's (claim to be) their pvp is even worse. Warhammer, Aion and GW2 were all supposed to be pvp focused and they all were horrible. Heck, GW2 is more about pve now then pvp. You would think the title alone Guild Wars would actually have some great pvp going on.

So yeah, I have yet to see any hard core pvpers really happy with pvp in any mmo.

  13. just splendid

good old day of the mmoRPG and SWG

RP is up to the people not the game. In all honesty, I didn't see much of the RP in SWG. On our server, everyone just was themselves and chillin with everyone having fun. Sure some rp'ed and there were wedding events etc., but as far as rp their character, I have seen more here and in WoW then on SWG.

  14. I dunno, maybe the tiny amount of servers that have been condensed resulting in name loss etc..

Maybe the pitiful amount of views and comments on YT promotional vids they release?

Maybe the tiny following this game has for a SW franchise, this was expected and funded to be the next big thing, just check the stockprice fall from pre-launch to now?

I will admit there is a chance it could halt the clusterduck of fails with the SSSP but it's not looking likely with the way they are dealing with it. Of course any BW drone or fanboi would not admit this, their delusion is strong.

I see you completely ignored the actual press from the actual company (EA/Bioware) stating that they are making more money and it is up overall and growing. But yeah the game is really dying because of what you think not actual facts presented by the actual company who sees the actual numbers.

Seems more like your delusion is strong.

  15. I find it hilarious that just because some tard doesn't like an idea someone has or a desire for something to be in-game, then it must be a low percentage of people who want it. People have been wanting personal housing and the ability to decorate and place outdated gear and such in their housing since launch of this game and SEVERAL HUNDRED people have quit because of the endless rinse and repeat grind that is SWTOR. There are a **** ton of people who would love this game if there was more than a combat option for this game. This is not to say that people don't love it now but only that this game is far from well rounded.

Player housing in general, if done to work with the game, I don't mind. But there are some here wanting player housing like SWG which is just ridiculous. If it was an instanced type thing where it wouldn't destroy the ambiance of the planets then fine. I haven't checked out Rift's player housing but I heard it wasn't too bad. At least I think it was Rift.

  16. It amazes me people still have no clue what the difference between a sandbox mmo and a theme park mmo. Especially those posts I just read where they think that SWG type player housing would be good in this game. NO it wouldn't. It would actually ruin the game. I don't want the nice scenery cluttered with a bunch of ugly houses with no where to move.

A Sandbox mmo is basically a wide open terrain where the community creates the content and is the type of game where you do build houses, guild halls, towns, etc. Check out The Repopulation if you need this type of stuff. That is a going to be a sandbox mmo along with Everquest Next I believe.

Also, please stop comparing SWG to ToR. Who cares if SWG had certain things you wanted. They have no place in here in ToR. Hey let's compare Zelda to Call of Duty. Basically the same thing as comparing swg to tor.

  17. Yeah, I would queue for PvP a lot more often if I was about to queue for certain matches.

I love the 4 on 4...but I hate Huttball. I also do not like the 8vs8...but that's my computers fault.

Anyways, this is why I very rarely queue for PvP.

If I was able to queue for only 4 on 4...I would most definitely be queuing all the time.

Definitely. I think others who might be on the fence of pvp or not really do it much because they don't have the option of choosing which one they want to do. I think it will bring more to queue and play some warzones or arenas.

  18. What part of Opt out do you not understand? Would you like it in another language?

I love when people say things like this. You should actually read all the replies as well, being I was also referring to one of the OP replies. Reading comprehension is an underrated skill.

  19. I seriously don't know why they never made pvp warzones/arenas to let you choose what you want to do and maybe offer intensives to queue for a random. I hate to bring it up but imo WoW does a great job of this. You can pick any bg you want to do or if you do it randomly you gain more honor and badges. They also offer a weekly BG that does this too which can help get people to join.

If one warzone gets queued so much and others don't well, that is when you offer bonus things then to do the less played ones. There could be some good warzone/arena matches that could take place, but people leave because they get tired of being in the same one they don't want.

We can queue for any flashpoints or operations we want. Not that hard to have done it for the pvp side also. I am not even a pvp player for the most part, but I do enjoy some warzones at times to mix it up a little.

  20. I can't wait for Double XP weekend. I haven't had time to level my other alts to 55 so hopefully I can get a couple more of them to it. I think this is a great feature they add here and there.

Sorry you don't like it and need to level without it for awhile extended weekend. Each person is open to their own opinion, but I will bet you are in the very minority on this. Calling others selfish for this pretty hypocritical being you are selfish in wanting no one to get something a lot of people want and enjoy.

  21. Now who's being a kid? You sound like a vindictive teenager. That's ok. Some people just don't have the collectors bug. It's sad that this thread turned into that considering I just wanted to have an awesome event back :(

You really don't fully read posts nor comprehend them do you? I have seen a few of your replies back to people who said similar things and you got all defensive and telling them things like you just replied back to me.

LMAO at you saying I sound like a vindictive teenager based off my reply. Funny stuff.

Oh, on a side note, you don't just want to have the event back. You said yourself you HAVE to have new items or you will quit. So obviously you want more then just the event. According to you that is.

  22. Same posts. Same replies for the most part. Someone is bored and doesn't like 1 small thing from the game out of the many things the game offers and gets frustrated because they can't get what they want asap. So they quit and feel the need to create a thread, which yes they have every right to, but one that has no criticism in it, no ideas on what Bioware can do to maybe improve something, just complaining and then gets mad when people don't type anything positive back to them nor agrees with them. Then those who also dislike the game will start ripping on those who post against the OP and feel the need to call them White Knights etc.

It is like watching Two Broke Girls where it is the same thing over and over again and even though it is a new episode, you know how it will go. Non stop 1 liner snappy comment sex jokes from everyone and cupcakes.

Personally, I just wish people would just quit instead of needing to leave a crying thread with no criticism or ideas to improve something so everyone can discuss it. Most of these people don't even quit anyways.
