  1. Focus waste. Leap + Zen + Zealous Strike = 13 Focus (that's assuming you had no Focus prior to starting the rotation). The next ability, Focused Burst, will consume no Focus (Koan) and meanwhile, you continue to 'build' more wasted Focus through Zen before you finally spend some with Force Exhaust.
  2. Sure, not to mention self-healing from DOTs, but I don't think that puts it in the running for the best DPS spec out there. The single target damage is quite lacking.
  3. Too late isn't it? The new abilities classes are getting with 4.0, along with most of the new utility choices, are pretty much for PVP. If you're not stunned or slowed, you'll be zipping along at the speed of sound and teleporting.
  4. I remember early on they implied it, but later on there were confusing and ambiguous statements about class companions that put serious doubts on this.
  5. For those saying 'yes' for existing companions, care to share where you got this information?
  6. I like my Sage more than my Sorc. The Sorc stuff, whether it be madness or lightning, it's all lightning and lightning and more lightning! It gets old fast. Project is infinitely more satisfying than Jolt or Bolt or whatever it's called. And the effects from Sage Telekenetics look and sound cool.
  7. No, I don't want my bubble time reduced, but I see no reason whatsoever to allow movement in the bubble.
  8. Oh? In PVP, single target burst typically matters a lot more than the slow and spread out damage that Balance/Madness provides.
  9. They're trying to make SWTOR more like TV with episodes every month and all. They're right on track for doing what so many TV shows do: sweep existing plotlines and developments under the rug and bring up new stuff out of nowhere.
  10. Yep, by design. One time my arena match was 5 vs 4. Now that's a bug.
  11. Ilum isn't proof of anything. They whipped up something quick for players to do stuff at level 50 while they worked on.. whatever it was. The team back in the day had grand plans. Class stories died some time in 2012 after the huge layoffs.
  12. You obviously don't do any PVP if you're never in melee range.
  13. I think they absolutely did plan on continuing class stories at one point, very early on, before launch and for a short while after. They, like everyone before and after, expected to be the ones to duplicate WoW's success.
  14. A more realistic change that would be very welcome and needed IMO would be to make it so that certain attacks reduce the cooldown time without having to spend a utility point.
  15. I had been having this problem for a few days. At first I could exit the launcher and try again and it would work. Then it got to the point that it would fail every time. Hopefully deleting the Bitraider folder is a permanent solution.
  16. Yes, these new abilities are PVP oriented, but that doesn't mean PVP is better for it. When they keep adding more stuff like this, they're just digging a deeper hole IMO. "Oh, those Knights and Juggs are having trouble staying within melee range, let's give them Mad Dash to help with that. Those scoundrels and Ops aren't slippery enough to get away for those other melee guys like Knights and Juggs with that awesome Mad Dash, let's give them yet another way to escape. Let's make all the PVPers waste utility points on dishing out various forms of CC or CC breaks. More gap closers and escapes for everyone!! PVP will be sooooo awesome with everyone zipping and teleporting around!!"

    Keyboard vs mouse

I have a Naga Hex mouse, which handles most of my core attacks, use keyboard for rest. I'm not buying another, so the day this mouse dies is the day I stop keybinding and go back to clicking on my Gunslinger.
  18. My Sent wants what the Gunslingers and Snipers get. I want an ability that resets the cooldown on Guarded by the Force, Force Camouflage, Saber Ward and Rebuke. I'll take that over the Mad Dash or whatever thanks.
  19. I was expecting a video when I clicked in here.
  20. Yes, and gets worse with every expansion. Seems to me the industry and even other Bioware teams are going in the other direction (DA:I, though too restrictive IMO) but someone at Bioware Austin is convinced that no matter what, more abilities = more fun.
  21. Stealthers, especially Assassins, are why I hate solo guarding.
  22. I like this kind of idea, but it'll never happen. The combat team doesn't think outside the box, they are set firm on the rails of the traditional MMO vertical leveling system.
  23. They could have simply made it so that the utility you pick at 65 is a lower tier (skillful) one, as just one alternative. It is pretty pathetic that the level cap increase removes one of our points and gives it back later. Especially when they redesigned the entire system with the last cap increase for the primary purpose of making scaling at later levels more manageable. The one thing I was looking forward to about the level cap increase was selecting another utility. Major failure. What do we get for this level increase? Higher gear: Oh yay, reset the gear grind again More utility choices: Who cares without more points. And at least for my Sent, these new ones aren't better than the existing ones I already have or want. More abilities: More ability bloat, quickbar clutter, mostly just more forms of gap closers and escapes that will make PVP even messier. I would have much preferred some passives on my existing abilities like lower cooldown on Force Leap. While the rest of the game is being made simpler (for better or for worse), the combat team wants to continue in the other direction. I guess they didn't get the memo.
