  1. I think people leave because they don't find the environment to their own particular liking. That's fine, it's a natural reaction. It's also a natural reaction for some to voice their displeasure about the environment and describe the cause for the exodus. Some do it politely, as did the OP of this thread, and some do it rudely. Everybody has their own idea of the environment based on their individual interactions and experiences. Their opinion is only that, an opinion, based on their unique perspective. As for myself I've had a very positive experience playing this game since a month or so after launch and continue to subscribe. I've mostly played with my brother and a friend or two. I haven't joined a guild because I wouldn't be able to con my brother into it mostly (he's a bit ... picky). I've noticed the odd discussions in general chat but there have also been good informational discussions. If all chat contained was the small tid-bits of "useful" things it would be sterile and dull. At least the weird bacon thread that never leaves gives some kind of filler while grinding. I've recently started using group finder to run flash-points. So far everyone I've been teamed up with have been helpful and reasonably polite. Even those who started snotty cooled off and started to be helpful once I explained that I've never played most of the FP missions before. Maybe it helped I play a tank most of the time but the end result is an absence of the nightmare being paraded about like it's an albatross around the communities neck. Bottom line, there are far more decent and helpful people playing this game than not. It's easy to see only the glaring negative when the positive is the majority of the background. Forest for the trees people. I hope to see you in game.
  2. Happened to me just now. Purchased $40 worth, purchased confirmed, email for purchase confirmation received but no additional coins showed up in my account. Not happy. I intend to call customer service during business hours tomorrow. ETA: It took a while but my coins finally showed up in my account. Strange.
  3. After getting the lvl 7 missions I ran through all of them to start the cycle. Got one weekly right away. Had to wait three days before the next one popped up (happened last night actually). I'm assuming that there is something to be sorted with the activation trigger for the weekly missions, I had also thought there would be a different one each day repeatable once per week.
  4. MSpectre, I whole-heartedly agree about the nature of people. It's one of the reasons I haven't bothered to try and find a guild until now. I've been running through playing the primary story and the dailies with my brother. However, other than the one black hole for 6 comms we were woefully undergeared for any of the hard modes and were looking to a very long slog to earn enough to get decent gear. Thanks to the recent update we were at last able to start gearing for some things but as a pair we just can't do the hard modes with our present gear. We've been toying with using the group finder (I probably will at least once for the group finder mission recently dropped) but my experience running with unknowns has been less than favorable. I agree with the original poster. Other than skipping through dialog that I've heard several times, I want to fight the mobs and mini bosses regardless of the possible rewards. I like to actually play the game not just rush to the final prize. But, too many are growing accustomed to seeking out the shortcuts for the fast reward in all things. It's not just in the gaming environment that it is having an effect on quality of life.
  5. I think one reason they made it complicated was to try and reduce the effect on the economy of the Galactic Trade Market. Think about it, right now an augmented item is far more expensive / valuable than an non-augmented piece. There are quite a few players (not me yet) who make quite a few credits taking advantage of the fact that they took the time to completely max out their crew skills. Obviously the crafting was meant to be more beneficial to other characters in your legacy. By the time you get a crew skill up to the point for it to be beneficial to your character you've already leveled up above where that item could be useful. Besides, you've probably received better from good drops. I was hoping the augment process would have been simpler but I can see why they didn't.
