Guild Rules
Be Excellent to each other.
We are more than a guild, we are a community of like-minded gamers seeking a positive environment. Our attitudes towards each other reflect our individual values. Therefore, keep in mind the following points in your interactions in-game, on the forums, and on Discord.
Be Honest. We are not here to police you, but we do ask that you try to be as honest as possible in all aspects of our interactions with you, including, but not limited to: your application, roleplay, and OOC chatter
Keep it PG. We are a family friendly guild. Keep the swearing to a minimum, topics clean, and personal issues out of public chat.
Religion, politics, satire aimed at serious topics, posts that attack marginalized communities, and other "hot topics" are banned from public chat. You are free to discuss these topics in private messages as long as both parties agree to discuss them.
Harassment, abuse, trolling, and other thoughtless behavior towards any player, whether they are in the guild or not, will not be tolerated.
ERP, abusive RP, and violent RP are strictly forbidden. Any who are caught engaging in these forms of roleplay on characters displaying our guild tag will immediately be escalated to Strike Three.
Real life comes first.
While active players are important to the health and vitality of any guild, real life should always, always, always come first. Things happen. You the player are more important than the pixelated character you’ve created. All we ask is that you let us know and keep us updated if and when possible. Also consider the following for your return:
Have a contingency plan. Either before you leave or when you come back, consider where your character has been and what they’ve been up to during your absence.
Think of ways your character can “catch up” to what’s going on, whether as a student needing to catch up on lessons or a Knight working to catch up on all that’s happened so far.
That said, remember that lack of communication will have consequences. If players have not been active or in contact for two weeks, officers will reach out privately. Continued absence and lack of communication could lead to being removed from the guild, so please ensure you are communicating your absence in Discord. Please note that brand new members will be treated a bit differently. For new members, a failure to remain active within the first two weeks after joining without communication with any officer or guild member will result in removal and the need for that member to reapply again.
Given the above, new applicants will be required to have their Discovery Event completed within 7 days of being accepted into the guild, or they forfeit their membership (barring extreme circumstances).
Stay true to Star Wars lore.
There is nothing more frustrating for a serious roleplayer than someone breaking lore. There is never ever a good reason to break lore in immersive roleplay. Therefore, please take any of the following actions before using something you’re not sure exists in Star Wars.
Check our FAQ. We post all good questions about the guild, lore, and anything else important and useful in there.
Ask. Literally. Ask in guild chat, in Discord, in-game. Ask an officer. One way or another, you’ll get a definitive answer.
Google it. Between Wookieepedia and other lore-friendly websites, you’re bound to find an answer.
Doing these helps the guild as a whole, not just you. We are all always learning something new, even veteran roleplayers. As people ask and answers are established, they’ll be added to our FAQ for other members to check up on.
Remember that IC actions have IC consequences. If your character breaks away from traditional Jedi training and mentality, then they will have to face the consequences. That may range from remedial training to being discharged to the Jedi Service Corps (not an RP rank - see FAQ) for failing to uphold the beliefs and values of the Jedi Order.
ANY FORM OF GOD-MODDING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Anyone accused of any god-moding (godmodding, powerplaying, metagaming, and/or retconning) will be pulled aside by the officers and an investigation into the situation will ensue. The accuser and accused, or any caught in the act of either, will be asked to take a breather while still maintaining contact with the officers (length of time determined on a case-by-case basis).
If accusations were found to be false or discredited, both parties will meet with the officers to discuss what happened and how best to move forward (as needed).
If actions were found to be accidental and unintended, the player in question will be allowed to remain in the guild after a discussion with the officers and the offended party.
If actions were found to be intentional, the player will be promptly escalated to Strike Three (see below).
If you don't know what god-moding, or any of its branches of bad RP, is then click here for explanations and examples. Agreeing to our Code of Conduct means you will do your absolute best to not participate in any form of god-moding.
WE WILL ENFORCE OUR THREE-STRIKE POLICY.
When you applied to the guild, you agreed to read and follow our Code of Conduct. Therefore, breaking our Code of Conduct has consequences, which are as follows:
Strike One - You will be given a stern warning.
Strike Two - You will be asked to take a break from the guild for x number of days as a “cool off” period. During this time we ask that you reflect on your actions and decisions.
Strike Three - You will be asked to politely and quietly remove yourself from the guild in the next 24 hours. If you don’t agree to do so, you will be promptly kicked from the guild and all guild resources (Discord, In-game, etc).
Every situation is unique and every story has two sides. The High Council will do their best to ensure everyone has a fair chance to present their side of the situation. Decisions and consequences will not be made lightly. There is also no hard reset for anyone. If you receive a Strike One, you will carry that strike against you for the remainder of your time in the guild.
Bear in mind that we all want to play the game and have fun. We're not here to babysit our players, and so we depend on you to uphold these Codes of Conduct in every aspect of our guild environment.
Guild Description
Nadill Jedi Academy is recruiting Initiates!
We are an intentionally small guild, with a focus on each individual member. We offer enriching, immersive, lore-abiding Jedi roleplay for those interested in developing their character as a traditional Jedi within the realm of known Star Wars lore.
Our members are expected to take part in Master-Padawan roleplay, have opportunities to engage in lessons, events, and missions, and will track their character progression through a system that holds leadership opportunities well after their Knight Trials. While small, our guild is a fully functioning, flourishing community in which each member's input and experiences are honored and utilized.
If you're interested in a niche community that focuses on pursuing the traditional Jedi experience, then you may have a place with us. We value dedication, thought-out characters, an open mind to learning and growing together, and a family-friendly environment.
Please keep in mind that due to our size, communication is essential. It takes collective effort from everyone (attending scheduled RP events, pinging others for RP, etc) to effectively participate in our guild.
