You won't lose any play time, there's the 2 day grace period now. What's the issue?

The FAQ on the website here says Has anyone with a physical pre-order been charged their final amount yet? I've called Origin CS the past 3 days and asked them about not getting charged yet and when I should get charged and the product shipped and have been told each time "The game isn't releasing until the 20th, but you should have Early Access now." Explained again what I was asking for, and was told that my order might not ship until the 20th and I would get charged when I sign for the package (pre-ordered on 7/21 at 6am EST). Quite odd it seems.

Well, would you rather have to suffer through a queue here at launch if it means your server will remain at a healthy population over the life of the game, or have no queue but have your server end up dead and merged into a different one?

It does exactly what they said it would do from the beginning. They've always said to expect queues, but the staggered access allows people to be more spread out onto different planets once the 20th hits. That was one of the main stated goals for Early Access. This way, come the 20th, there will be less and less masses on the starting planets.

I feel bad for the guild on Harbinger that has Wookiee spelled wrong in it's name

12 hours in to a game that you'll play for years? Not really all that much time. Would you rather play those 12 hours again, or look at a beard for years?

You've played for at most a day and a half, surely you can just reroll on a new server?

Fix or re-add the title from the Red Engine quest on Korriban (or take out the empty codex entry for it) Fix the codex entry discovery point for the Sith Academy on Korriban

Everyone who was following the game and the forums here in July should have known when they were opening up pre-orders, it was pretty common knowledge.
