  1. I don't care how good the DPS is, in most regs at least, if a team has 1-2 competent healers they win, period. Even if the DPS on their team is crap. And even if they do lose, the healers alone make what would have otherwise been a stomp into a competitive match.
  2. When a full 1/3 of the best ranked PVPers in the world are sorc/sages, I don't think stealthers are the classes that need adjusting, at least not first. Although I do think stealthers represent a disproportionate amount of top ranked classes, but still behind sorcs.
  3. When 1/3 of the top ranked pvpers play sage/sorc, I think you can tell which class is good for pvp. Truly elite pvpers will always look to play the strongest most effective class. Go Sorc.
  4. Say good bye to the 5 sorc/sages that run around every reg spamming storm on every node. People will actually miss that?
  5. How close is the sin burst to operative? Competitive or is operative burst significantly superior? If shadow can pump out 80-90% of an op's burst, I might stick with the sin thanks to the lower skillcap. And then when I get better at pvp, maybe switch to op. Although it depends on how "mediocre" deception burst is.
  6. Yeah. The one nice thing is it seems there are quite a few viable utilities to pick from.
  7. Did a search and couldn't fun any posts that lay out the consensus utility picks for a scrapper. What are the strongest utilities that should be taken?
  8. Not interested in other specs for the class. I am actually going to stick with infiltration or scrapper. Which is more fun in pvp? Here are my priorities: -I want to have fun -I don't want to die when the wind blows the wrong way -I want to strike fear in people when I get the jump on them. I don't need to top charts. I want to be as survivable as I can and scare people even if sustained isn't good. So basically burst + survivability. Which spec offers me the best package from these stealth classes?
  9. Just one? Man, the EU needs to get more diverse in its novels subjects. I also assume that they have not picked up on looking at anything Imperial side besides Sith, right? I mean, there is Thrawn, but are there any Imperial Intelligence novels, for instance?
  10. The Knight story is good. Clean, simple, by the numbers. It's a summer movie flick. Don't expect great literature here. The agent story is better written, but overrated. The story can come across as convoluted and while the dialogue can be nice, certain story threads seem slapped together (chain of conspiracies and shocks put together just because SPY!) and certain reveals can be seen coming from a mile away (all the class stories are like this, I would say, but the genre the agent story shoots for makes it a bit more annoying to have such easily guessed swerves.) Basically the Agent story gets a lot of praise, I think, because it covers an interesting angle, not because it is so much better in quality than the others. And that angle is: What would it be like as a cog in the Imperial machine dealing with the insanity of the Sith? The trooper story tries to do something similar, but since the Republic doesn't have the dysfunction of the Empire, it's not as interesting. I mean getting force choked by a crazy Sith is more appealing that appearing before a Senate hearing. They are both good in their own way. I do think the Agent story is enjoyable and better written than the knight, but don't get your hopes up for an amazing story.
  11. Hello, So I am rolling an agent or a scoundrel (DPS stealth spec) on a brand new server, there will be no money or support for this character. With the 12xp and the cheap mods, I'm not sure what crew skills would be best to level up with. Considering it will have no support, should I concentrate on the money making skills? I guess I also want to know if either class is reall good (+crit, +efficiency) in any skills. Please advise.
  12. Do any of the EU novels star shadow or assassin type jedi/sith? Force stealth, spying, infiltration, etc.?
  13. So when I played on this server a few years back near launch, the cantina on Voss was usually always busy with mixed imp/pub RP. Now with the expansions, Voss is deserted. Currently is there any place where imp and pub players intermingle and RP? Thanks!
  14. Yeah. I wanted to roleplay a tech savvy jedi who forgoes simple robes for a suit of power armor he designed himself. The force is great, but always have backup is the motto. That kind of cross trained skill seems to be better for a sentinel than a guardian.
  15. So KOTOR Jedi had guardians, sentinels, and consulars, right? But when you read wikis like http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Sentinel you realize that the SWTOR classes only loosely fit in some ways. If I wanted to RP my guardian game class as a sentinel or my sentinel as a consular, would this be story acceptable or are the in-game classes really what you are?
