  1. first time, got the patch, launched fine, played for a while, then got notification that the servers were going down for maintenance. I waited a while, then logged back in, the patch downloaded again. Was able to get to the character selection screen and it was full of programming placeholders all over the screen, and when I hit ESC, it crashed to desktop. Went back in. Boom, started to download the patch again. I am done for today, I will see if it pulls it's head out of its collective orifices' then.
  2. Everyones point is valid. I have 14 toons, and most went up single skill trees because they made sense, but my Sorcerer who was spread out across all three trees and very effective has become a totally useless character. Additionally, with my Juggernaut, an ability with the 40% reduction that I have had since level 25 is now a level 60 ability? Some improvements are good (taking out the cover requirement on almost everything for a Sniper, thank you), but balanced players are out of luck. The problems I am seeing is they did 3.0 and an expansion at the same time and phased it. Each launch has been a problem from initial launch 3 years ago, with issues with new areas and bugs and crap. I think if they launched 3.0 say in October, it would have given people a bit of time to get used to the new system before having to run up new bosses. I think the most outraged I am about the new system is having to repay for those talents that I already leveled up to 55. Why am I repaying for something I already paid for? I will continue to play out this expansion, because like many, I love the franchise, but not a big MMO player, and I have been on for more than 3 years (beta participant), and the skill trees are used pretty much the standard across the board with WoW, Everquest, etc. I asked around to see if anyone else had this new setup in any other MMO, the silence was deafening. People will leave because of this change, they always do. It is just a matter if they get bored with everything else that is out there and come back. The thing Bioware needs to again watch out for is apathy on the part of players, and those of us who have been in since the beginning, and heard from the leads and the devs about all the things that we were going to do (of course all of those people were laid off a month after launch) and there are some who remember the comment about having 500 worlds in 10 years. The first trip up was the laziness of Makeb (no class stories, even the shuttle rides are lazy). that made people become disenfranchised with their characters, since people love the individual story lines meant for that class, not something everyone does. Galactic Starfighter is a joke, and strongholds are cosmetic (except for the legacy bank, that is the best thing in a year I have seen). I understand that takes voice actors and money, but with all the streamlining, and lack of actually doing much other than patching issues that have been around since day one, why not actually show that you listen to players who want more story. That has been an issue since the beginning. This is the second expansion, and I have to wait until next week to start playing, but if the Revan storyline is a single line Imp/Pub story, then I guess there really is no effort on Bioware to make this game interesting enough to overlook the issues that have cropped up.
  3. Besides the lag and such, now I get an issue going to Riishi where it is telling me I have to purchase Shadow of Revan, which I did, back when it was first announced. Now I can't do anything with that, and the lag on the FP (Solo where?) is ridiculous. I'll come back later.
  4. And that isn't the only one you bought from us is it LOL.
  5. Was just discussing that with my best friend and I have a 32" LG 1080p that I used to use before the three and I think I might change it out again. Without the UI being moveable, makes it a pain to see the minimap and the companion stuff without actually physically turning my head. But with my eyesight starting to suck, the higher resolution is clearer.

  7. Well written and pretty much sums up the first 20 or so levels. You might want to add that you can visit all the worlds (faction and neutrals) once you get a ship, just nothing will happen there. You can ride the speeder in Illum or Hoth, just no missions, and probably stuff that will kill you very effectively. If you are PvP, prepare to be jumped when you get off your capital planet. Capital planets (unless the bug has not been fixed). Coruscant / Dromund Kaas - Faction only. You want to set foot on all the planets, you need a character on each faction. There is also an emergency fleet pass now. When you get to the first space station it shows up. If you are out there questing around say Tatooine, and your friends decide that they want to run the Hammer Flashpoint, this little gem will whisk you to the nearest republic/imperial fleet station so you can run the flashpoint, without having to run all the way back to spaceport, fly to the station and all. And yes, your ship transports with you. Cooldown is 18 hours, so use wisely. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
  8. until the 11.12 drivers, lower your shadow complexity and turn the bloom off. There is supposed to be a patch and APP (since Xfire is not supported, yet) for TOR in the next driver release.
  9. It isn't just aesthetics, you can go to a light/dark side vendor and get some pretty cool weapons and armor, but you have to be at least a LS/DS 1 or higher. If you are grey, it doesn't help.
  10. and if it is in box 1, it was binding to the right mouse button during the beta.
  11. Bring your machine back up, go to http://www.nvidia.com, download GeForce Drivers, GTX 400M series, GTX460M, select Windows 64 bit and download the driver and update it. The amount of time makes me wonder if you are not overheating your graphics chip. Do you have a notebook cooler under it, or is it very hot (it will be, its nvidia), that is a suggestion. If that doesn't correct it, either take it back to BB, or go through Asus RMA which is excellent for thier notebooks.
  12. You know the types, level cap as fast as possible. They are the same ones who buy a game for their console and beat it in a day, and complain it isn't hard. They hop from MMO to MMO, waiting for expansions. Plus a lot have no life (job, family, responsiblities). They are also the most vocal about a "lack of endgame". when they blow through 200 hours of scripted gameplay in a week. Heard them constantly in the forums, whining. I have been in beta for the past few months and have 4 toons that I am going to work on pretty much simultaneously with 3 other people in my family and I don't expect to see level cap anytime soon. there is just so much story to have to go through. Level cappers only believe in one thing, being first to the top (King of the Hill syndrome), where as the 99.99995% of the other players will simply enjoy the game. Take it easy and enjoy, and find a friend to level with, it is a blast.
  13. Ran Eyefinity for the past two months and it is the only way to play this game in my opinion. Can't do the 3D thing because of my eyes, but I agree a moveable UI would be a Godsend since to look at the minimap I have to look at thr far right corner. Looking to try and run my screens in portrait mode to check that out. System: AMD X6 3.2Ghz, 16GB DDR3, HD6870 1GB, Vrapter 10k for TOR, Win 7 64bit, Crosshair Formula IV, TT Level10 GT case. 3840x1024 @ 46FPS avg with everything turned up even in highly populate areas.
