  1. Yeah, how dare someone think that using the amount of damage to talk about their class (which is a DPS class) would make sense. You do realize that if you are at the top of the damage chart that means you had more DPS than anyone else in that war zone, right? What metric would you propose that we measure our class by? I suppose you're going to suggest we use something like how people feel or our "utility". Guess what, those aren't measurable and are cop-outs for people who can't show any actual data to support their claims.
  2. I'm not going to talk about every point you made but how is coming in second for overall damage not being an effectual player for a DPS spec? Your logic eludes me. If you are set up for DPS then by getting the second highest score that means you were doing exactly what your spec was made for. I'm getting tired of seeing scoundrels complain that our class is the worst but then saying they consistently take one of the top spots in a WZ.
  3. You need to ditch Shifty Eyed, that's a pure pvp skill and does nothing for you on Tatooine. Put one of those points into Scrappy and the other into Surprise Comeback. I would also suggest moving the points in Brawler's Grit and Fight or Flight into Round Two. The Fight or Flight change isn't necessary because you'll pick it back up within the next 3 levels but being able to proc Upper Hand as often as possible is HUGE for our damage output. If you are close to leveling then leave that one alone and just apply your next point to Round Two instead. With these changes, that is the exact build I ran with on Tatooine and had no problems with survivability. I was also using Bowdaar geared up but gearing Corso should have roughly the same success.
  4. You're lvl 26 and you're worried about matching gear? Quit worrying about style and worry more about stats. This is stuff that you might be wearing for 2-3 levels max so why worry about how it looks? If you want stuff that matches and is geared appropriately then you need to get some oranges and keep the slots up to date.
  5. What level is your brother's smuggler? If his level isn't high enough then he might not get the dialogue option.
  6. You could always get a medium armor headband...
  7. I would suggest trying to have a vital shot active as well depending on your energy level.
  8. You have to go through all of the story on Nar Shaddaa before you get Bowdaar. You do not get him the first (or even second) time you see him.
  9. That's odd, I'm leveling as scrapper spec and don't have any problem with Bowdaar's survivability. Of course, I'm doing the heavy lifting when it comes to damage production. Perhaps you'd be better off with either Risha or Akaavi? Bowdaar doesn't put out a lot of damage from what I have seen so it is possible that the fight is lasting too long because you lack DPS.
  10. You need to go to any vendor and select the repair all button at the bottom of the vendor items screen. Your stuff broke because you did not do this. The best general advice I can give you is to repair your gear whenever you find a vendor.
  11. Nice guide. One suggestion I would make is to use spoiler tags around each section. That way it cuts down on the huge amounts of text visible and makes it more reader friendly.
  12. Actually, you don't have to go into the Preferences to lock the hotbar. On the left side of the hotbars there is a little lock icon that you can click to lock and unlock your hotbars.
  13. I have to say that your response is a refreshing change from people like Binafus. I think I've found the issue. You are playing Scoundrel to be a solo class when really a stealth class should be used as support. Our job is to sneak in, find someone who is distracted, burn them down, and then fade away. I don't think the devs ever intended the Scoundrel to be a take-all-comers class. This works best if you find someone currently engaged in a battle and pounce on them. I think a lot of the people who are complaining about the class are confused about what the devs were intending our role to be or who want to play an OP'd class.
  14. I'd say the person who complains about the person who complains about the person who complains is the worst. Your leaving isn't going to be any major loss to the community, have a good day.
  15. Can you name me one MMO that hasn't gone through significant changes during the first year after release? The fact of the matter is that the limited scope of the beta can't accurately portray what is going to happen after release and it is ridiculous that you think the game would come out and require no balancing. Also, if you rely on other people to tell you what to play then you're going to miss out on a lot of good games because someone else didn't like it. People's opinions are just that, OPINIONS. They are as biased about games as anyone else for their own reasons and nobody is going to have exactly the same viewpoints.
  16. He has a bit of a fresh off the moisture farm outlook on life. He comes off as extremely naive and it gets irritating.
  17. Try reading the stickies before posting things like this, it'll save you and everyone else time. Edit: I'm referring to the stickies in the Scoundrel sub-forum.
  18. If you are referring to the datacrons then I would imagine it would be best to get them all but obviously the best for smugglers are cunning and endurance because they are our primary stats and presence to raise the health of your companion.
  19. ^this Also OP, if your buddy was updating his 1976 car and keeping it in top condition (like how WoW has been modified by it's designers), then your car will probably get spanked by his old one. Grow up and realize that cars and games have very little in common to even remotely compare the two. One is a depreciating asset while the other is a freaking game you play for fun.
