  1. Erm well the devs recently asked for feedback on all classes to answer your main question.

Sadly for anyone that doesn't play Pyro/Mara/Op healer it doesn't look like the attitude of the devs will change anytime soon even with Zoeller gone. Every statement they make has a subtext along the lines of "Our metrics disagree, you are playing the class wrong. L2P or reroll Mara/Pyro/OP healer with the rest of us. Balance will be easier with only 3 classes... you''ll see!"

It's way too early to ask for feedback, the game is so young they shouldn't have to ask the player community whats up? If they don't have statistics rolling from WZ they are bad, bad game developers.

Powertech/Vanguard needs to be toned down and way more challenging! Marauder are fine in one way but could use a toning down aswell.

Operatives, Sorcerers, Snipers, Deception Assassins, Madness in general, Carnage all need buffs. Jugg dps specs probably needs that aswell with the exeption of smash. Advanced Prototype is cool but needs some creativity (little more challenging than Pyro but not much).

Situational CD's are needed and the Devs SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ENQUIRE about this matter.

They name WoW as extremly balancede in comparison to other MMO's and I thought that was mega fail. Swtor needs this, I really dont think it is that hard.

All classes in general needs to be Creative, Inovative, Balanced and fill a nische.

  2. Change guild, don't warm the bench if you're not getting something in return. There is obviously no space for you and the best you might hope for is to fill in when someone does not feel like showing up.

edit: I took for granted that people actually know that you want to play and that is the reason you are there.

  3. I think it could be down to the grind. In 10-49 pvp, yes you have a grind for coms but the focus is more on xp and makes it worthwhile diving in.

lvl 50 is all about the gear grind. With this out of date format, is it any wonder players quit warzones because losing can yield small amounts of coms, winning only a max of 140 and if you join a wz a few minutes in - its a waste of time.

So the fun element has been removed.

All people want to do is kill the enemy and if Bioware looked at their beloved metrics they would see this. Remove the need to capture points and put the focus on kills and kill streams to win matches, remove the gear grind and bingo, you will have a winning pvp combination

You forgot the carrot - which usually is gear - which lead to what you just said.

    How to solve that?

  4. When I call out an inc Its not me that's defending I always keep my eyes on the other points as it bothers me when no one calls it out. I am not an idiot so I don't solo guard nodes as a healer I only do that on my main which is a tank.

People aren't that perceptive. Most guys wont even notice a whisper on imperial fleet, let alone some capslock screams in the /ops channel during combat (mainly cus they are so used to whine maybe?).

Un-perceptive players are part of the game, find the one's who arent and you can basically win the game 2 people if that is the given level of competition you are up against.

  5. I cannot stand 10-49 on my healers (have a 26 imp and 35 pub) mainly because when you call an inc the whole team leaves the node and you pretty much just swap nodes all game. All I see are maras/pts/snipers I think I have played one game this week with an actual tank who actually used his guard on me. Also my biggest issue is no one taunts or uses CC's or breaks them.

I love it on my Operative healer (lvl 24). You'd have to play more adaptive, you can't just sit your butt on a node, scream when people come then be dissapointed at your team.

Use your skills to heal them instead of solo guarding things and you'll win with pure muscle instead.

  6. I think you are on to something here, I also loved PvP up to the point 50. Now dont get me wrong Im far from horrible and my 50 is geared with 50% BH 50% WH fully augmented.

I still find doing WZ while levelling is much more fun.

  7. Indeed, people will kid themselves all day long that they want competition and to face tougher opposition, a challenge please !! In truth, we all know that's garbage.

People used to losing, want to win, they don't care how or against whom, a group of PVE noobs will do.

People winning want to carry on winning, they are not interested in having someone come along and knock them off their pedastals. Otherwise, already successful players from successful teams, would not be rolling the latest FoTM classes would they?

Although it is proven that the essence of winning > losing it's more complex than that.

Alot of people simply have a drive to improve, you know those who doesn't blame everyone else for losing. And when hard work start to pay off and you are going from losing to winning and improving in competition, thats a pretty good feeling compared to being handed a win from some PVE noobs.

    People are different though.

  8. Lol at people attacking the OP. He's reporting a rumour, most people get that, some just don't.

I also think he's trolling [the BW employee], he might not be, but then I think EA makes a stupid decision or at least ruins any chances this have to become great.

They are also stealing my money by not revealing their plans knowing many players will not subscribe when it is apparent they will go F2P (would this be true). There should be laws of responsibility against corporations doing that

  9. Because you get something out of that, am I correct? The FOTM overgeared get to ******** anyone that challenges them and it stays that way with only the illusion that there's some sort of hope of challenge, whereas world PvP has absolutely no discernible reward other than personal satisfaction that you can't wear on your shoulder like an epeen for the rest of the server to see?

Like I said, I don't have a problem with arenas, ladders and tournaments being put in AFTER all the other glaring issues in the game are fixed first.

Ofcourse you get something out of it, that's how MMO's work. There is not a single popular thing in MMO's where you do not get something out of it. People do OP's because of the gear - gear progression is the heart and soul of any MMO.

You can't make such a system for world PvP, it's either horrible or very easy to exploit.

I don't think you ever played WoW-Arena tbh. Had you done so on a more seriouse scale you'd know that anyone closing in on 500th ranked spot will be max geared. The only thing that would seem "OP" would be class setup - aka comp.

But if it turned out that class X dominates everything when paired together - then maybe that's a very good base for class tweaks for a coming patch - else that would go unnoticed.

Exactly how do you propose to change these glaring issues without some solid evidence to go on?

  10. ^^

And if all had counter-cool downs to those that existed and burning them at the wrong times would punish you against better players - would that be a bad thing?

Then your gear would carry less value.

A playground to test these skills would be needed - hence the suggestion.

A deathmatch playground with a league ladder and tournaments would be a good thing. The magic number would probably be from 2v2 -> 4v4, more then that has proven difficult to manage and is also proven by RWZ as it is.

When the chips are down, league RWZ will most likely result in a handful established teams fighting for the first spot and the eager players left out will have a real hard time finding a good, consistent team.

2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 could produce a massive amounts of competition and a very easy way to try out new tactics, comps and playstyles even without X-realm PvP. It is also very beginner friendly.

-- The game dev's need time, but they need to keep subs while buying this time. I think Arena based PvP would be a very viable solution to this.

  11. I don't want F2P because it equals cheap and the hope of change and development needs to be put in an expansion. WoW was succesful because it wasnt free and BW works harder with their patching than WoW ever did.

If it goes free to play I shall leave for something else.

And lol that you personally know 38 people who had to quit because they couldn't afford the monthly fee, how on earth did they afford a computer to begin with?

  12. WoW ----->

Very constructive of you, I guess we all should go play WoW instead since there are so many similarities?

Arguing that something similar exists in another game is a bad arguing point. I mean, why develope CoD, counter-strike already exists.

I am talking about a very popular nisch that isn't really explored in this game and I know for a fact it will have a great audience considering its track record. If you don't like it noone will hold a gun to your head and force you to play it. Alot of people will though.

  13. If the objective is killing the other guy, only PT's need apply then?

Im sure the PT's would need healers and Im sure healers would like guard. I am also sure that BW will continue class balance wether or not we have this which leads me to believe other dps might be buffed ;-)

PvP lacks situational CD's in either case.

  14. I dont give up.

I rather charge in and die, after a while I get a duel or two with spectators while my teammates are sitting on their butts waiting for the game to end - not all, but a good 5-6 out of 8. But they are all weak.

  15. Good job ;) My Chiss female Operative is still only lvl 24 but im owning it up ofc ;>

I've noticed people have a tendency to spoil me with MVP votes for most healing done compared to doing most damage on my first char.
