  1. In the end, it will always come down to how much the company with the two big vowel letters is willing to invest into what is (if we're honest) minor, feel-good nice2have stuff. That is why I originally had that thought about ingame mails. But having new mail conversations from companions that joined 8 chapters back suddenly popping up in your mailbox may already be to much to justify the expenses in manpower/programming time towards EA. However, how about this - your NSC companion John/Jane is flagged by the system as romanced love interest. Now imagine a pool of maybe 10-12 short messages (to avoid to much obvious repetition) that ingame mails are randomly choosen from and will appear in your character's inbox once a week, something like this maybe: 'Dearest [insert title like Commander, Mylord, Captain, Sir], while undercover last week on [insert planet name] I stumbled over this stuff! Thought you might be interested! Can't wait to see you again. Love you, [insert NSC name]' Attached to that message could be something like an artifact level companion gift (though no courting!!!). And suddenly the player will have something that actually rewards him/her for being in that relationship. Or how about giving romanced NSCs a significant bonus influence gain when taking them on daily missions? Anything that makes a romance more than a line of text in your companion overview...
  2. I honestly don't think any deeper interaction with various companions besides MAYBE some one-way text messages is about to happen ever again. To clarify my original post: Think of all the comps that, at one point, could have kicked the bucket, or the player might have not bothered to accept into the alliance. Each of the following (with voice actor parts) - - might be gone from a large number of players' stories... no way they can justify to the beancounters spending money for additional scenes. Ok, maybe I'm wrong, didn't expect there to be an Arcan romance! Keeping a char relevant to the upcoming story is just too much effort (time and moneywise) after he or she might have encountered the hot end of a lightsaber by enraged playerchar Sithlord. AtB RP
  3. Hey there, I'd like to write a few words about how (returning) companions are handled in regards of NPCs that already have joined the alliance in the past. Aside from very few cases (like that ingame mail about Aego and Jorgan hitting it of) the player almost never gets any feedback from reunions of old aquaintances. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect any voiced cutscenes (a matter of cost of course), but it would be great to see some of them hanging out randomly in the base's bar (non interactable), or maybe an mail of them commenting about another NPC (no great challenge for the writing staff, I'd assume). The most recent example was when you brought back Risha and Corso for the smuggler. I was kinda looking forward to see how Risha would react to: see her childhood friend Vette again / hear about her fate during the attack on Odessen. Just a message from her in either case would have made the whole experience more, well, alive. Or any of them commenting about Gus or Bowdaar (remember Corso and Bowie being a little at odds with each other during the smuggler story?). I admit I was somewhat disappointed when nothing at all happened... So, with the next companions who will be brought back according to the roadmap, I want to ask you to consider throwing out some mail after recruiting them. How do your new followers react to old faces, or about what happened to them (Mako/Torian)? And Iresso has a history with Jorgan. Qyzen once contacted Mako. Just sayin'. See you around RP
  4. How will the Legacy Storages be handled? I imagine most people who have chars on several servers also have their storage there filled up - crafting mats, companion gifts, so on. Should we players empty one of the storages, say the one on server B, into character inventories to avoid trouble there, the one on server A then being the 'Master Legacy Storage'? Or is there a background procedure planned when migrating to the new server that avoids problems with storage inventory? Sorry if this has already been cleared up, I checked and couldn't find this question already having been asked.
  5. I was thinking about the beancounter factor. I'm on T3 too, but can one honestly say there are any overcrowded instances there? Or merely well populated ones? Fleet around 70-80, CZ-198 at max 14, even with the CXP bug? The only thing that comes to my mind is the keypass-drop for H2 The Face Merchants... really people, group up, how hard... I digress. Right, beancounter, yeah. Imagine one of those happy people, paid by EA, made some cost/revenue analysis, and the French or German localisation were suddenly deemed not cost effective anymore? It wouldn't matter how real my €uros were.
  6. They don't forget. Honestly, I guess the german speaking part of the community is so small by now that we can feel lucky the new content still gets localized...
  7. How about giving out Complimentary Experience Boosts via ingame mail? Command XP for the LVL70, regular XP for those under that level, but ones that mirror the effect of the double XP event? Say, those boosts run 6 hours each per character, and give 150% more XP (since the event and regular boosts were cumulative) while active? Because, I really really do not need another pet or mount. And giving out blanket CC is likely just a pipedream...
  8. The way they work, and in context to the problem, yes. They make it way worse. I'd recommend against posting more of them.
  9. They still check the problem, like Eric told us. And seriously, if I were in their shoes right now I would most certainly avoid telling us a fixed time right now. What if they couldn't keep the timeline? Hmm... fire already here, how 'bout some gasoline?
  10. Really now people, could you please cut the devs and coders some slack? You know, I could imagine that some of them had some reallife related issues the last few days besides their job, maybe some little thing that starts with 'H' and ends with 'arvey'. Check your maps if you will, Austin is not that far from Houston. And now, today, they have to spend their time possibly until late in the night to find some bugs potentially resulting from some lines of code someone two years back and no longer part of their team wrote. Turn the vitriol down a notch, will you?
  11. Hmm, just a random thought here... A few weeks back Eric (I think) stated something like 'the drop rate for command crates is now app. one per hour, as initially promised, sometimes even higher'. According to metrics. Now I wonder - how much did players spamming those three activities contribute to get to that 1 per hour ratio? How will that particular metric - given the amount of CXP one needs to gain a rank after the first few levels - look like after nerfing Fractured and C1 & 2?
