  1. When / where is this supposed to take place? I'd love to shoot the **** with some of you, scheduling conflicts permitting.
  2. I was on the PTS... briefly. My thoughts echo those of Desii and Flux; I won't be transferring to a server where I'll have to support someone named xxIOWNZURMOMLOLZxx, while they spend every warzone chasing people around emoting, "u mad bro?" There're plenty of people making movies right now, with more entertainment potential in their fingernail clippings than these people, and I would never, ever go to see a single one of their films; so I'm not going to subject myself to that kind of crap, if I don't have to. This is a video game. I don't really care about overall skill level, or being better than anyone, or whatever, because none of that translates into anything tangible. If I care about anything, on that level, it's not playing poorly, and I say that self-consciously, as even that is just an ego thing. To my mind, video games are all about escapism, and, for me, that's largely affected by the community. I like the community that we have here, so I'll be staying, provided that the community remains.
  3. Maybe, but we Ascension healers are too egotistical to group together in a premade, so your chances of getting into a match w/o a second healer are higher than most
  4. Not really... the match hit the map's enrage timer. Most Novare's are nowhere close to thirty minutes long, so of course the numbers in that SS look absurdly high.
  5. The problem with this idea is that there're many people who change their gear in the downtime prior to warzones starting, not before taking queue pops. Locking gear on entry would essentially mean giving a big F-U to anyone who runs dailies / heroics, and Bioware's really encouraging that right now with the new achievement and reputation systems.
  6. Parses can easily be falsified by anyone with a plain text editor, e.g., anyone. I think we should just ditch the concept altogether. No sense providing a catalyst for more drama. You'd think that trusting people'd be the way to go, especially given the 'just for fun' nature of the thread, but the reality is that this forum is enough of a tinderbox as it is. Cheers for the time you've spent on its maintenance, but I think we should take the humane route and just put the dog down.
  7. LOL. Your guildie grieved a raid that I was running with Consular. Cons has it on tape. You asked me into your Vent, claiming that you wanted to discuss the matter with me. When I signed in, you lied to your guildies, telling them that I told you I wanted to quit ASB and DL, to join DJO, and that you were publicly rejecting the application that I never sent. When I laughed at you, you banned me with a message that it was because I "like dudes." The whole thing struck me as grossly hysterical. "Jock issues?" Why didn't you just tell me that you were still in high school... I wouldn't have wasted my breath. /edit No offense to jballa, or any of the other high schoolers who're magnitudes above you, in terms of both skill and maturity.
  8. I've been noticing this, especially in warzones, since the 2.0 patch. No idea why it'd just be in warzones, but I haven't noticed anything particularly out of the ordinary while going through Makeb. I haven't run an op, yet, so I can't speak on that, either way.
  9. Hey now. Accusing others of hacking is against the TOS. If someone happened to be using a poorly coded hack, and it made a bad system call, at the same time I was taking my screenshot, it has NOTHING to do with my post about armstech. Kthxbye.
  10. The problem with this analogy is that athletes are paid to do what they do
  11. I don't know if I agree with that or not (I haven't healed at 55 yet). From what I've learned, throwing HOTs on people provides a significant buffer for damage; as long as I keep HOTs up on people, they'll live long enough for me to use UWM, once they start taking damage. But, yeah, I do feel that there's significantly less gameplay freedom than there used to be. I used to be able to choose when and where to heal vs. throwing out damage; I don't feel that luxury anymore, I feel as if I have to be on top of the healing ball, full-time, and I'm not thrilled about it. "Broken" is an exaggeration, though.
  12. I'm on a RP server. Most of the players I've talked to on our server said that they rolled there for communal reasons. A little while back, we had some people come over from a PVP server, bragging about how they were going to set up shop, and own the place; they get steam-rolled on the regular. But we certainly welcome cross-server queueing
  13. Yeah, healing right now is amazingly difficult.
  14. Sure... but, then, so is Civil War.
  15. I wasn't playing-playing.... if I didn't craft during my downtime, I'd rarely craft at all >.>
  16. I'm told it takes about nine hours to level 50-55. By the time it's fixed (provided things go the way the QQers want), most EWH players will have probably already hit 55.
  17. I actually like the new bolster. It's awesome for people like me (my L26 slinger right now is still in a mix of L8-11 greens; my sentinel didn't get pants, headgear, ear or implants, and rocked non-reslotted lightsaber and sentinel's lightsaber until L32; and it goes on and on). The other half of your complaint is the most valid objection I've seen to the new state of PVP. My L26 sharpshooter is hitting 7-10k crits on incendiary round and aimed shot; if I crit, I can burn down non-tanks in a single rotation. Of course it goes both ways (I find it really annoying that who wins right now is often determined by who targets who first), but I imagine that most competent premades could probably burn someone 100%-0 hp in fewer than a handful of GCDs. At least, that's how it seems. I don't really recall premades being too much of an issue, while I was solo-queueing today, but I also think a lot of the more serious players who're more likely to roll premades are probably focused on leveling right now. As for healers... on my 50 sawbones, I put up 1.3m heals and 110k dmg in a fairly typical voidstar* earlier, and didn't really break a sweat. Not sure if I feel that healing's OP, or that it's working as intended to counter the damage going out. My feeling right now is that, if people are dying too quickly, it's probably the healer's fault. I mean, with energy management in its current state, I've had very little issue keeping two stacks of SRMP on most of my teammates at all times, and that's served as a fairly effective damage mitigator. It may also be that healers haven't gotten quite the buff that it might appear from the numbers, as more damage going out could mean less over-healing. Sometimes people forget that only damage that's healed through counts toward overall healing score. But still... who really cares much about lowbie pvp, anyway? I'm deliberately not solidifying any opinions about the state of PVP until I've played a good number of matches on multiple toons at 55. As a healer, I've had to change the way that I heal in order to compensate for the changes; I expect that'll hold true for most other players, as well. People other than healers will stop viewing tanks as the red-headed stepchildren of warzones, and tanks'll become a more prominent presence in warzones. Etc. At this point, I think it's pretty much just whatever... no sense screaming bloody murder until things settle down a little. * It was about 1:30 shorter than full-duration for the map
  18. This just isn't true. I compared BiS dreadguard to BiS EWH to naked, on my scoundrel. The difference between the three was more or less negligible, to the point where running BiS EWH probably still is superior to running naked, if only because of superior itemization and set bonuses (which for some builds are almost necessary to play effectively). Personally, I like the new bolster. One thing many folks are forgetting is that this is now LOWBIE pvp. 50s got dumped into the lowbie bracket, not the other way around. Frankly, I'd rather have everyone be doing warzones naked, and on the same playing field; it's more fun than dealing with the morons who re-twink their toons every two to three levels just to be able to spend every warzone emoting more frequently than colicky infants.
  19. Because that would make lowbie pvp unlivable for everyone who hadn't been pvp'ing regularly at 50 for at least a month prior to the patch The playing field is more or less even, right now, which IMHO is as it should be. And the people complaining loudest are some of the same people I saw saying things like "LOLZ, those lowbies suuuuuuuuure are going to have a GREAT time when we get dumped into their warzone queue LOLOLOL " So screw 'em. I have min-maxed EWH gear. Couldn't care less about it now being worthless.
  20. To be fair, none of that has anything to do with the xpac. You use group-finder as intended when you want to run an op in ScaryMode, not StoryMode.
  21. I used cool head once tonight. Once. And only then because I was spamming high-cost abilities for the sheer novelty of being able to do so. Energy management is a joke atm, and I don't even have alacrity on my gear yet.
