  1. The cost to make any craftable dye module is minuscule. You can gather most of the ingredients for free by farming nodes on planets or in your stronghold. All you have to pay for is the leveled crafting material and those are dirt cheap, along with running some Treasure Hunting missions for some blue quality gems (which you could also acquire for free in exchange for some of the Jawa junk that rains down from the sky via command crates). So it sounds like someone is mass gathering mats and pumping out a bunch of dyes for 99% pure profit. Just because they're listing the dyes lower than you want doesn't mean they're doing anything wrong. Sounds more like you've probably been overcharging for an item that costs virtual pennies to craft.

The gathered mats are not free, they have a value that you can sell them for. This value has to be included in your cost. For example, if the mats you gathered could be sold for 20k and the rest of the mats for the item you make only cost 5k, this gives you a cost to make of 25k. Sounds to me like your only thinking it cost you 5k to make, so say you double that and sell for 10k. You've lost the value of the mats you gather as you could have just sold them and made 20k.

  2. Hi Guys n Gals. Just returned to the game after 3-4 years away and Ive read that in the near future Im going to lose my companions and some wont be coming back. My main is a Sith Inq and I read that if I didnt side with Khem Val during the main story line I wont ever get him back. I remember why I had to make a choice but cant remember what choice I made. Is there any way I can find out before I spend a lot of effort getting him up to level 50. Id like to have a level 50 companion before I continue and he is the easiest to level.
  3. The way I remember the crafting window, when its open each line has 3 columns, 1st is the number of items you can make, 2nd is the name of the item and on the far right is the level of the item. If Im remembering right, why dos the first number say 0 when I can make a bunch of that item? Is this a bug or is there something else Im forgetting?
  4. Hi Guys n Gals, decided after a few years away Id have another look at this game. As I remember the game the crew skills were supposed to be self sufficient. One skill needed 2 harvesting type skills to support it. Seems this isnt the case anymore. I have Armormech as a skill but for support it needs Scavenging, Underworld Trading, Slicing, not to mention someone else to make the color crystals. This is just from a quick look at things. Im sure lots of other things have changed as well. Are all the other crafting skills like this now?
  5. I have been seeing this a lot more. Companions lag and then pull other mobs that aren't even close to you. On top of that, they lag to the point where they don't provide support. Example, my low level character uses Quinn as a healer, and I will charge into a fight. I expect heals, but when I turn around, he isn't doing nothing but standing at a distance. And with silvers ( Strongs ) hitting harder than normal, having a companion not helping isn't good. I was on Balmorra last night, and kept having bugs that weren't even close to me, aggro, and then come to find out, it was my companion that was lagging into those groups. It happened more than once. I seriously hope they fix all the bugs and lag issues in the game come Tuesday. I will always be a subscriber, because I believe in supporting a game that is awesome, instead of mooching.

Yes this is happening a lot to me as well. Mobs bouncing all over tha place, companions killing 1 mob then just standing there while the others pound on me etc. etc. As far as sub goes, soon as mine runs out I will stop supporting this game financially till they fix the lag.

  6. This expansion has been a complete debacle and the exploit just highlights this point. I am on the verge on permanently quitting this game due to the utter mess that this expansion has been; it has showed me Bioware cares about one thing and one thing only. (Should have known... classic EA).

Lets list out the things wrong so far:

    1) Lag: Everyone has dealt with this in some fashion and it manifests in multiple ways. Ability lag has been atrocious even on low-pop servers. FPS has HALVED on some players computers.... *** happened here? It's the same game yet operations and warzones have become completely unplayable for some.

    2) Balance: Melee in endgame content is simply inferior to ranged in every way, usually this is countered by boosting dummy dps in other MMOs but if we look at current DPS leaderboards this is obviously not the case. Also I don't PvP much but I've heard balance is absent here as well.

    3) Bots: Try to farm slicing on Yavin for a while and you'll notice the huge amount of bots collecting all of the nodes, many players have reported these bots but I don't think Bioware is too concerned with it.

    4) Buggy content: Underlurker is a waste of time some days. Cortanni was bugged in multiple ways and has since been kind of fixed (although a minor exploit exists). Hard mode Torque feels like a slap in the face some attempts. Hard mode Revan is seemingly only beatable with 6+ Bounty Hunters / Troopers (Not buggy but extremely unbalanced). Assault on Tython for the Republic side is not even worth attempting. I'm sure there's more.

    5) The complete lack of giving a s**t by Bioware. These problems have all existed for almost exactly a month now and the ONLY thing that was "fixed" was Cortanni being reverted to it's previously exploitable state instead of actually being fixed. Why was this released during the holiday season when none of the employees were going to be there to fix it? Why should we play this game when we care about it more than the developers themselves? 3 WEEKS to fix this exploit?

    What are your thoughts?

I think if you hadnt figured all this out long before this your deluding yourself. Ive been playing MMO's since the mid 90's and the only thing going for this game is the IP and the 1-50 stories(which are great). Without those it would have closed a long time ago.

  7. Has anyone else noticed in the last few weeks (Im assuming this is another 3.0 bug) that when you send out companions to do crew skills they come back empty, not even the failed message? Ive had this happen to me a few times. I will send them all out on missions and only one or 2 would come back with something. The rest I would get nothing, no message either. So far Ive only notice it happening with undergroud trading.
  8. This doesn't scan.

Your earlier post listed a cost of "37K - 40K for the purple mat". That's based on buying them on the GTN, not farming them yourself.

The average cost per purple mat from farming is 4k each.

Sorry but your also forgettng to add value to your time. If I can make (as an example) 200k in an hour doing dailies then that sets a price on my time of 200k an hour. Add that into your time of getting your mats and see what they are worth. The arguement of "well I have my companions do the work for me while I do dailies" doesnt work either. You wont get enough to make it worth your while. If you want to have a consistant supply of items to sell you have to buy from the GTN. You wont have enough purples otherwise.

  9. Again, an expansion is a great opportunity to draw players in to a game and this opportunity appears to have been wasted.

I agree with this totally. Id be very surprised( I know Im guessing you troll ) if they didnt lose a good percentage of the new/returned players because of this. As someone who plays a lot of MMO's and has since the mid 90's Ive seen MMO's come and go. I think the only reason this one is still here is the IP and the original 50 levels of story. I must say that from my experience it has the worse tech support of any MMO Ive played. Maybe they should go talk to Sony as at one point I felt EQ2 had the worse but over the years it has become much better.

  10. Am I the only one who finds people dont care anymore? Ive been leveling a healer the last few weeks and too many of the FP's Ive been doing people dont care about doing things right. Most of the tanks have been in dps gear, and end up blaming me cause I cant keep up with the damage they take. Also the dps just want to jump in and kill the big stuff, leaving me to die from the small. Even after I repeatedly tell them what the problems are they either blame me or ignore me. Even though I will admit Im pissed right now this is not meant to be a rant, I want peoples opinion on this.
  11. Ive always thought there was something wrong with group finder and now I know. I just spent half an hour sitting in group finder with my 35 healer and no group. So I immediatly changed to my 34 tank and Ive been sitting for another half an hour and still no group. You cant tell me that for an hour there hasnt been 2 dps in the 30-40 range On a late Saturday afternoon that want to do a FP??
  12. Hi all, returning player with a question about gaurdian tanks. Im lvl 30 with up to date blue mods. Ive been running a few FP's to get back into practice and Ive noticed every healer Ive been with has had a hard time keeping me alive with large groups. I might be wrong but I dont remember this being a problem before. Have gaurdians been nerfed armor wise in 3.0 or??
  13. I get tons in my stronghold and when Im questing but none when I do FP's. When I try and find something on the gtn while in my stronghold it will sometimes find the item right away. A lot of times Im pushing the button 3-4 times and it can take 10-20 seconds to do the search. While questing my combat delay is normally 2 seconds after I press the button and when I send in my companion a 5 - 10 second delay is normal before he/she moves. While the GTN delay has always been there (though not this bad) the combat delay is since 3.0
