  1. I have to say at first I was a die hard body type 3 guy no matter the class I picked. But something just always felt off. I left the game for well over a year (started at launch), and just came back this week. In doing so I rerolled some of my characters to work the rust off and take in the changes. I originally made this thread to get opinions of folks because I was struggling between 2 and 3. Well, I went ahead and bit the bullet - rolling my characters body type 2. Vanguard, Guardian, Scoundrel, and Shadow. Previously, everyone of them would of been body type 3, no questions asked. I have to say I'm loving it. At first I felt a bit small, but when I put on some Orange Quality Gear everything just fleshed out. My animations for both my Vanguard and Jedi Knight seem smoother as well. It's also nice to fit in with 95 % (made up guestimate) of the NPC's you run into around the world size wise. I feel now that body type 2 for males just works. Thanks everyone for your opinions. They are fun to read.
  2. Fishing for opinions. So torn between body type 2 vs 3 for a couple classes (males). Guardian / Juggernaut Vanguard / Powertech When I pick 3 I feel waaaay tooo "Hulky". When I pick 2 I fit in with NPC's better, but just feel a little small. Which do you guys prefer that have played both, and maybe spent a few cartel coins swapping around?
  3. Wow thank you for taking the time to post this. You have more experience than I do playing both sides since our returns. Your statements of the Empire side being easier to "break into" the pvp scene is exactly the impression I received from my brief time back. I have no doubt that both sides have quality pvp people, and people way better at pvp than I ever hope to be on both sides. I know the Empire has flashier animations, but my heart just keeps telling me the Republic. I always connect with the "good side" more in MMORPGS when multiple factions are involved. Yesterday while queued from both sides for lowbie pvp my Empire's wz pop was pretty fast, not so true on the Republic side. I gave up trying to get the Republic PvP wz pop after about 20 minutes. Does it stay like that queue wise all the way to 60 do to the Republic having less people queueing? If it changes later and evens out then that is great news, as I know lowbie pvp doesn't matter a whole lot - though it does to me, there was at least one warzone I have never played before - not sure if there are more. Thanks guys for taking the time to help answer my questions!
  4. Thank you. I love the links you added to spice things up in your reply!
  5. Greetings friends, I'm one of the players that played this game at launch, then after about 6 months left for other ventures. I have since returned do to the new expansion - and I have to say I'm loving the changes. I've been trying out both the Empire and the Republic the last week to get a feel for which side I want to play. The thing I've ran into is folks seem to be friendlier, chattier, and overall decent players on the Empire side. I even engaged in some great spontaneous Role play on Korriban with an Operative and Bounty Hunter trying to recruit me to spy on the Sith Lords. Me being a young sith apprentice, I declined of course! I've found my time on the Republic side running into way more silly names like Xxpunisherxxp, I-eat-babies, and such. Also, the few groups I have ran have been in seem to be filled with very new players (which isn't a bad thing, we were all new to MMO's once). What really got to me was when a heavy RP / PVP guild Republic side was recruiting on Ord Mantell. I politely whispered them with ( ) that I both love to rp, and mainly PvP...though I do enjoy running operations too. He replied back that he was sorry, but my name is not a RP name. I was O'shotty - smuggler soon to be scrapper, and my title read Captain O'shotty. Has a nice ring to it. I ask him how so? He replies what would we call you? I'm like, O'shotty? Then I even gave him a spontaneous Rp story to the name (I hadn't given it much though yet) that my first name is Orville, which is quite embarrassing, so I go by O'shotty - which is indeed the character's last name. He replies, sorry - doesn't work. It bothered me so bad I spent 1k credits to change my smuggler's name. Anyhow for those of you that have played here for a while, is it just easier for a stranger/new player to break into the scene on the Empire side? Also I really like to PVP. I have read that the Empire side has way more PvP'rs, but I was considering to try and PVP on the Pub side because it would be easier to get to know the smaller crowd. I was wondering if the queues for unranked PVP (all I'm concerned about for now since I'm a lowbie) are much longer on the Republic side do to the smaller PvP crowd. Sorry for the long post. I'm very glad to be back to Swtor. I hope everyone has a great day! P.S - no time to proof read - Heading out the door. =)
  6. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? -
  7. Hello, thinking of rolling a few republic characters on your server. Word on the street is the republic are outnumbered, so I don't want to add to the population imbalance. I've always played Imp side, but don't mind swapping. So I'm just curious on what the current queue times range for 10-49, and 50. Thank you!
  8. Wow thank you for all the encouraging replies. I love the class.
  9. I love my scrapper / off spec healer, but I find the rotation just clunky when I'm running scrapper. There's a gap after I do my initial opener at my level of back blast, blaster whip, sucker punch, and sabo charge. I usually follow up with tendon blast about this time -.. the next round of the rotation is where the clunkiness comes into play, since most likely back blast is still on cool down. Also it seems my dps is pretty low (PVP).. It takes me forever to take down even level 11-18 people when I go full force. I have my scrapper twinked out in all orange armor with up to date mods, armoring, and enhancements..2 +41 exp crystals ( my crit is at 28 % at level 28 )..and spec'd correctly . My level 26 shadow has a way smoother rotation at his level (Be it simpler)...and seems to take down folks much faster (PVP). I prefer my scrapper though because I like a complex rotation, a thinking man's class, and the Crowd control of him. So all and all I'm just wanting to hear from folks that love their scrapper...it gets better right? I love the class, I love the story, I love the republic, and I love Bowdaar!...at this moment though, at level 28 and twinked out... I just feel weak. What level can I expect to start maybe feeling the "wow" this class rocks feeling?? I've been playing mmorpgs non stop for 16 years..and pvping pretty extensively for 14 of those years. I know how to pvp. I know how to peel, use Line of sight, crowd control, not waste cooldowns, protect healers, and play to win. At the moment though. My poor scrapper just feels weak. Thanks!
