  1. BW has already said dual specs are on the way, don't worry.
  2. To the people that are saying you should just create the other AC as the other faction: I chose Republic because I believe in good, not evil. That's not a very good story if you can just switch between Republic and Empire at will without any work. I think that would be more broken than switching advanced classes with respecs. I'm not against getting to Dark V or Light V and being able to switch factions, but I don't feel like essentially switching at will between the factions(via two characters) is right. Nor do I want to play Empire because like I said, I don't believe in the morals or actions of many of the characters in their lore.
  3. Please please PLEASE don't say fact unless there is concrete evidence that you can link to. -There is always a valid reason as there is always an invalid reason to every argument. I don't think that could ever even be considered a fact -Unless you have forced every player of SWTOR to take a survey, which I highly doubt since many players don't even use the forums, then your "fact" is just an opinion -BW stated that they had NO PLANS to let you change your AC. Just by saying that, that means that unless they believe in possibly changing core classes(such as the infamous rogue to mage or vice versa argument) that an AC is not a core-class -I find it "funny" how you say that you're not entitled to your own facts when you fabricate these so-called "facts" without any concrete evidence whatsoever
  4. The Ferrari analogy is fine, you don't have to let your friends down. You worked for the Ferrari(most likely), and we're trying to work for dual AC. And btw a group never has to deal with a mediocre healer. If there's a consensus, you can kick them, and if you don't want to be with them, you can leave. And unless you're in hardmodes or ops, dungeons aren't very hard. If you ARE in an ops or hardmode, then you know how to play your class and are smart enough that you can easily figure out how to heal just by looking at the skill definitions. If you play multiple specs, you'll eventually learn them just as if you had one.
  5. That could also work, but people would complain about development time being taken away from things that they enjoy. A much less development intensive solution is allowing the respeccing of this classes.
  6. SWTOR doesn't have to bend to what the other games do. It can use new methods and still be successful. I'd have to say that being a story driven MMO means that you shouldn't have to experience the same story twice. It's also not the most important basis for class changing, IMO at least.
  7. Also in WoW, there are specs within a class that are melee and caster. Druid, paladin, and shaman, for example, can switch between all the roles, except for shaman, which has both melee and caster dps, as well as healer.
  8. In numerous posts of mine, I've already said that many people don't enjoy leveling, so therefore won't, which means no replayability. Replayability is supposed to include enjoyment, but if there's no enjoyment(such as grinding the same stuff over again) then it's not really replayability.
  9. Actually, it's quite possible now, even without Dual AC. I doubt that a Mercenary who's leveled from 1 to 50 as Arsenal will be any better equipped to be an end-game healer if they decide to re-spec to Bodyguard at level 50 prior to an Operation. Learning to play is completely separate from this conversation as long as Bioware allows Talent Tree respecs (two within an AC). Why not allow all four Talent Trees (within the CORE class)? Very organized and were similar to some of my ideas/pros, except much more clear. Liked this post a lot.
  10. First of all, you don't have to group with those players. If they don't have very good gear, it could represent that they rerolled AC and therefore you know that they may not know what they're doing. If they're however just new to 50, then they should be doing dungeons appropriate for that gear level, which aren't too challenging anyways. Also, there are healer/dps and tank/dps ACs, so people could still just as easily switch between those specs and have no idea what they're doing. You can still essentially do this as long as you spend more time miserably grinding through the same content twice for each class, experiencing the same exact story(which is supposed to be unique to your class). I do not believe that is replayability. People still play nonstop until they're bored regardless of switching ACs, and playing nonstop leveling to get the part you actually enjoy is worse than playing the part you enjoy until it's boring, especially when the former option can cause you to quit before you actually even reach the part you enjoy. If you don't enjoy a certain aspect of the game, but are forced to do it just so you can experience the aspects you DO enjoy, then you either spend less time playing, or spend the same/more time and foster contempt for the game based on that and quit earlier than you would had you been able to enjoy it more often. So essentially it reduces replayability and decreases your enjoyment, interest, and time in/on the game. I don't speak for everyone, nor the majority, but I'm sure many feel the same way I do.
  11. In SW lore, people choose a color based on personal preference. Their preference may be because a color represents something, but no more than that. Most Jedi chose a color because they LIKED it, not because it meant something story-wise. Also, what the OP was saying was that the color would be tied to LS/DS so that DS people could only get DS-only colors, such as red, which would mean LS couldn't get red. EDIT: I forgot to mention that I completely agree with this. /signed
  12. I still don't understand how giving people an option breaks the game for everyone else when that person would otherwise miserably grind through the same content again or just not play that AC at all, limiting their experience and enjoyment of the game.
  13. I play a few other MMOs, but they don't have nearly as much story or character progression(story-wise), nor do they have the feel of epicness that you get from just you and your companion being the heroes. This is probably the most enjoyable out of the other MMOs that I play atm, and I'd like to be able to devote more of my time to this rather than others, but I just feel like I can't because my character is limited by an unneeded barrier(my opinion). P.S. As I said, your other reasons are valid, but there are solutions to dealing with those types of people.
  14. I agree with this post. While part of all of your characters legacy, or family tree as some dubbed it(even BW?), may be good, as the legacy progresses, some may become evil, and vice versa. As for why I changed the font of that text to indigo, I think that applies to the possibility of somehow changing ACs... While this post has five stars, there are other posts about the same issue but with ACs that have one(Yes, mine)... I'm not trying to change the discussion anymore than pointing this out or go off-topic anymore than that, but I think that sentence relates to the other subject.
  15. The juggernaut has a different tanking playstyle than an assassin tank, although minor or major, I'm not sure. They also have different gear priorities and looks. I'm also not asking for pity, I'm merely suggesting/discussing reasons why I think the idea would be beneficial.
