  1. Well I just figured that they could 'bypass' the linking to the story choices and make them neutral companions. Sort of like they did with HK-55 (I won't put any spoilers here). Not a perfect example, since the wrote a story for that event. Maybe I am just too attached to some of the NPCs
  2. So I know this gets brought up from time to time in other threads, and this is probably a touchy subject given how this latest patch jazzed up companions. I would like the chance to buy some of the NPCs I have met form the original chapters and have them as companions. With all of the companions we got from KoTFE, and now pets and droids, I have all of these companions that I really have no feeling for, or attachment to. Instead of giving us more companions with a made up backstory, give us the ones we already lived the backstory with, Regardless of what happened to them in canon. I would pay serious cartel coins for Jaxxo and Watcher 2. To a lesser extent Former Minister of intelligence, Thana Vesh, Hesker, Crysta Markon, Darth Baras... I mean there could be quite a list. Take some of the wireframes from the cutscenes, slap on a generic companion rotation, and cut and paste of of their previous dialogue for their action quips. and start printing money. The don't need an update to the story or an explanation on how they ended up as my companion. I give you cartel coins, you give me the companions I want. No questions asked!
  3. I would like to offer <Pax Republica> as an option for you and your wife. We are a casual PvE/PvP/GSF guild and have been around since before the game has launched. Most of our members play evenings in the Eastern/Central US time zones. We have had a surge in new members returning to the game since November of last year, many of them are running KotFE and KotEE for the first time, or even re-doing the class stories again, so you would fit right in. As an example, tonight we are running the Oricon Operations so folks can get those off their mission lists. The best way to reach us is through our discord server, as that is where we coordinate all of our activities. Here is our address https://discordapp.com/invite/ePCae5V As a new person to the discord server, You will only be able to review our welcome page to see if we sound like what you both are looking for. If you message one of the officers, such as iolo'pax, we can change your discord role from stranger to a recruit so you can see all of our text channels, including our weekly calendar of activities, the history of some of the events we have run, as well as our silliness . That is really the 'meat and potatoes' of who we are. If like what you see, we can get you a /ginvite for your toons in-game. There is of course, no obligation to stay, but we do require the newest member to bring bagels to any guild meetings we have. (That encourages the new folks to find friends hehe j/k). I hope to see ya around the galaxy
  4. I offer <Pax Republica> as an option for you. We have been around since before the game launched, and are pretty casual. We do PvE/PvP/GSF, have a fully expanded and decorated Flagship, and of course the 10% XP bonus. We have had an influx of new guild members who are either returning to the game, or even discovering the game for the first time because of the movie. It has been pretty neat to experience the enthusiasm the people have for the game again. It's pretty contagious. All we ask is that you are polite to others in game, and be open to helping others find their way as well. Most of our activities are coordinated through our discord server https://discord.gg/ePCae5V Come check us out and lurk if you want to. If you think we would be a good fit, just message us and we will get you a /ginvite
  5. I would humbly submit <Pax Republica> for your consideration. We do casual PvE/PvP/GSF have a 10% XP bonus and a fully decked out Flagship. Most of our events are posted in our discord as opposed to our website, but you don't need do voice comms if you want to lurk. Come by and check us out to see if we are your flavor of ice cream. If you like what you see, message us and we can throw you a Ginvite!!! https://discord.gg/ePCae5V
  6. Pax Republica is looking to fill its ranks with nice folks who are enthusiastic about playing the game. We have been around since before the game launched and of course have the usual slew of perks... discord, 10% XP Bonus, punch and pie. Our flagship is fully expanded and decorated, as well as our stronghold, and we try to make the top 10 in Conquest each week. The largest portion of our player base is on in the evenings from 8pm - Midnight Eastern time, however we do have some West coast and European players who are always looking for more people to do things with. We have had a surge in players brand new to the game, as well as many folks who have returned to the game after not playing for many moons. We have a good contingent of people leveling their characters right now. Our Veterans are taking advantage of the rebirth of the server to chase after achievements. We run world boss groups each week, help each other when it comes time to finish the Shroud Quest (Macrobinoculars/Seeker Droid), as well as PvP and GSF regularly. Whether you are new to the game trying to figure things out, or a long time player looking to be rejuvenated. As long you are friendly, polite to others, and are looking for a guild to call home. We would love to hear from you!
  7. Lots of new members. We are having a good time and still looking for good folks to join us! Want to know more?
  8. Thank you very much for asking for feedback on this. I agree with much of what has been said so far. Being a new player is brutal. On our server the queues pop at a reasonable rate but there is almost always a pair of fully geared ships. If it is TDM, and they find a new player it is gut wrenching to watch. A fully geared ship can kill a new ship in 1-2 shots. A new player wouldn’t even have time to react. As others have said, a repeatable tutorial with scaling difficulty on targets could help bridge the learning curve. Maybe even through in some comms to get a few tier 1 upgrades. A tutorial on ship upgrades could help too. I dread starting over in a brand new ship on new characters. It would be nice if there was a character transferable benefit to help jumpstart things. Maybe if a ship is mastered it gets commendations to start out on a new toon throughout the legacy A possible ‘outside the box’ idea would be allowing ‘insta-pop’ queuing for a group. Think of it similar to a duel. Everyone in the group or ops group pops into the tutorial map as a free for all. . They are able to play with their actual ships and current upgrades, but NO XP / Comms are earned. It would give the opportunity to play with friends, learn the game, coach new players, and practice strategies. It would be great to have tiers based on legacy achievement but that would make the queue pops come to a grinding halt. Additionally it would be bad to penalized the most dedicated players with reduced pops because they have too many achievements. Balancing the group is awesome, but not at the expense of extended queuing times. This next suggestion is really off topic, but I am putting it out there in the hopes it spawns more outside the box thinking. I would LOVE to have a GSF/PVP combined mission, A map with two capital ships attempting to board one another. Round 1 GSF/TDM. Round 2 Voidstar with the GSF winners as the attackers. Doll it up with sidebar objectives. (GSF fighters have to knock out turrets before they can board or something) It may seem off the wall, but it would add a dimension to GSF with already existing maps. Again, I appreciate the opportunity for feedback!
  9. Hello Vert, and Welcome back to the game! I'd like to submit Pax Republica for your consideration. We are a Republic guild first and foremost. We have an alt Guild for Imp side (with a completely different name) but in full disclosure we rarely schedule events with it. We use it mostly for the XP bonus for raising imp toons or when there are Imperial only achievements we want to go after. Generally speaking our most active members are in evenings and late nights (on Friday/Saturday) and schedule our events split between Eastern and Central time. We do have a few European members who typically outside those hours, but we pride ourselves in the fact they they regularly participate in our schedule even though it is 3-5am for them. We tend to be a friendly guild and partner with others. We used to be more hard core towards Hard-Mode/Nightmare Mode OPs, but many folks got burned out. We recently started to recruit new members again and many of us have been revitalized by the enthusiasm of the new and returning players we have met. As an example here is this week's schedule which we post in our Discord channel. Events for Week of July 4th <-- PvP+FP-oriented Conquest Target: 20.000 per Char / Planet: Yavin 4 1) Tuesday FP-Night (all One-Time-Conquest-Points!) 4 PM / 7 PM (2 rounds) 2) Wednesday Ravagers GF-OP with Conquest-Bonus 7 PM (only Level 70) 3) Thursday Open-World-PvP-Conquest-Objectives and Yavin Walker-Boss 4) Friday BoTH PVP all night! 7+ PM (European player earlier) 5) Saturday Tyth GF-OP 6 PM (free for all) / 16-men-HM-OP with Guardians 7 PM (only if spare places) 6) Sunday Temple of Sacrifice GF-OP with Conquest-Bonus 7 PM (free for all) 7) Monday "Your wish is our command"-Day So be creative, dear members! Here is our formal recruitment thread. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=808935 We still maintain our website for now. http://pax-republica.guildlaunch.com/ If you want to poke around to see the type of peeps you are dealing with. However since the widespread use of Discord went mainstream, that has usurped our website as the best way to reach us. (Other than in game of course hehe) Whatever you decide, it pleases me to see another player returning to the game. I hope to see ya around the galaxy! iolo'Pax
  10. Hey All. Pax Republica is recruiting again! We dabble a little bit in all facets of the game. PVP, GSF, FP's, OP's, are run regularly and very casual. We recently recruited some new and returning players to the game. Their excitement has rejuvenated many our veteran members with their enthusiasm. It would be great to add more folks who are looking to enjoy the game.

  12. Well it has been one month to the day that I made this post. I am happy to say I am still truly enjoying my time with Pax Republica. Getting to know everyone has been really fun. I have learned SO much about playing my main toon from Pax that I am now starting to get my feet wet with HM raiding. That is something I couldn't imagine myself doing a year ago. In addition to my own improvement, I have taken amazement in some of the new recruits that have joined the ranks. Some had similar experience as me with MMO and guilds, others have been long time MMO vets. Interacting with them both in TeamSpeak and in game, and witnessing their enthusiasm for our guild has made me feel more confident that I am not just looking through 'rose-colored classes' when I game with Pax. Pax Republica has instilled a sense of pride in myself when I play my characters. Having that tag attached to my name has truly changed my gaming experience to something I didn't know it could be. I am instilled to try and share that enjoyment with others. To some players, that may sound lame, and that is okay, not everyone games for the same reasons. Odds are those players who wouldn't appreciate my sentiment wouldn't enjoy themselves with us, nor us with them. Our forums contain all the applications who both pass and fail their trials and why. It has also been great having people 'miss' me when I am not online for awhile. I can honestly say that is an MMO first for me. Additionally, I have become acquainted with Paxians from of course North America, but also Great Britain, Ecuador, Denmark, and ones deployed abroad. Just yesterday I raided with someone when the OP Started at 4am their time, and they were very disappointed when the sun came up and they knew it was time for bed. Wouldn't you know it, they signed up for another raid tonight that starts at the same time. Yes it is safe to say I found my Guild home for this game and beyond. I hope you will to.
