  1. By the way, I think this is probably the wrong forum, but can we just use Treek for the entire storyline? Just curious...
  2. Hey! Well, that's a really tough question to answer, as everyone is just gonna chime in with what they think is most enjoyable to them. So here's my 2 cents: I tried both, and frankly the Assassin is way more enjoyable to me, as I've found the Sorcerer's playstyle too stationary, which doesn't really work for me. I prefer to stealth around and be more mobile and adaptive. All 3 Assassin specs have these elements (nerf or no nerf), with the option for tanking. So basically, as far as my limited experience goes, Sorcerer if you want to heal or be further away from danger whilst unleashing your Force powers, Assassin if you want to tank or be moving around wreaking havoc with a combination of melee and Force powers. Oh and as an Assassin -> Double-bladed Lightsaber! That just looks cool, no matter who you are. P.S: Don't "listen" to posts saying Assassins are bad, just try it and if you enjoy it, then there you go!
  3. 1. How do you think your Assassin spec is perceived by other classes? My Deception Assassin is perceived as an underperforming one that no one in their right mind would take on a serious OP (in PVP there are some tweaks to be made), but it's my favorite and it's the one that makes the most sense my character would be (a sneaky, strike-from-the-shadows-and-run kind of character). 2. How do you perceive your own spec? As I said, it's my favorite spec, and I hate that in order to be viable I can't play as it. I think that if the spec is carefully and thoroughly looked into, it can be made quite viable and useful (and NOT overpowered); there's a lack of utility about it as well a lack of survivability, but the latter is understandable since this class is supposed to be a glass cannon. Just make it a cannon, though, it's all we ask.
  4. What's interesting is that it's stated that the spec is underperforming in team play because it's meant to be that way, and that Deceptisins (and mirror) have great burst... Well, yeah they do, at lower levels. I purposedly started a Shadow to further test this theory, and at level 12 I managed to land a 2.6k crit with mostly crap gear. I think this is one of the most iconic and fun-to-play classes out there and leveling is a truly enjoyable experience, especially in Deception spec. But then everything changes. I'm not much of an endgamer myself, but I really find it anti-climatic and unfair that the most fun spec and the one that clearly most of us want to play (it's the most fun, and its practically unanimous), is not as viable for team play as it should be. I mean what're we supposed to do? Play Deception/Infiltration solo only? Then either respec or log on another char? I hope the Devs will open their eyes and see that they should at least take a deeper look at the spec, that while awesome, needs some tweaks to make it more viable.
  5. Wow, couldn't believe he'd actually said that until I read it... So no love for Infil/Deception I guess... It's the only spec that makes the class look and feel shadowy/assassiny
  6. I say go Sharpshooter, and you should aim for something like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700rsrbbRsRuoZbfZh.1 (maybe change a few things if you want to) Use Corso or Bowdaar so you can dps without (much) interference
  7. Well, seeing as I'm also very casual, if I understood correctly, Immortal Juggernauts are getting a buff threat-wise, and there are some changes in the Rage tree and Vengeance also. I believe Rage is getting buffed in the survivability department and Vengeance is getting nerfed a bit. No idea, I never read patch notes in depth. I just love being Immortal and the damage I do (without pvp gear and other super duper epics, since I don't have time to farm them) is pretty darn good for tank spec, and I neeeeever get below 75% health with Quinn (his gear is better than my own). I mean the boss fights some people come here on the forums asking for advice and help (yes, I read the strategies/tactics etc), I was just like "Is this it?" xD Just enjoy the ride and make good use of your abilities and you'll have a blast.
  8. Being a Juggernaut player myself, I'm gonna go ahead and recommend it. To me it just feels more iconic than Marauder. I played both, and like the Juggernaut way better (the animations, the skills, the look). If you do go Jugger, then I suggest you go Immortal spec with DPS gear, and once you get Quinn (and get him geared up nicely) you will find you'll be very very hard to kill, and still capable of doing good damage (again, this if you gear yourself up as well; get the latest hilts and armorings, then just go upgrading the rest) It's not easy and sometimes it will feel like a grind, because sometimes you just cant get the best gear you can find and this is a very gear dependant class, but trust me you will have a blast (if you wanna make it easier, be sure to burn EVERY quest you can get your lightsaber on, bonus series, pvp etc, so that you're at least 2-3 levels above the current planet; if you do all this, it will be faceroll). But bottom line, just have fun, because the Sith Warrior Story is amazing! I keep trying to make alts but I just can't lol (Help me, I'm Juggerholic!), I keep coming back to Juggernaut, it's quite simply too awesome <3
  9. You mean in the loading screen when you log into your character? It still appears "Chapter 3"? That sucks then, because the same thing is happening on my Sith Warrior. Except it still says "Chapter 1"... I sent a ticket asking if this would prevent me from progressing with my class story (i.e. I had 2 class missions the whole game, one in Balmorra and 1 that actually progressed...), and was told that it wouldnt and that they were aware of this issue. I've completed the final chapter and class quest but it still shows "Chapter I - Balmorra"...
  10. Can't complete the class quest? And this is happening to everyone?
  11. "Your name - now!" "Would you rather I shoot you in the face?"
  12. I went Immortal with Quinn all the way, with some DPS talents thrown in and a mix of DPS and Tank gear/mods. It has been quite a ride, I leveled pretty darn fast (specially 40-49) and I never died while soloing (kept Quinn's gear better than my own). But having seen the patch notes, I'll be going Rage in 1.2. It's getting a much needed survivability boost and I've always been curious about the spec. Should be fun
  13. You get one of those in Hoth, after doing one of the heroics there. It's silver and black. If you want one like Revan's (reddish and black) I'm sure there are some out there. The level 35+/40ish ones are almost all like that.
  14. Awesome post! I would love to see a storyline where after the end of this one (maybe the Sith Order became more empowered because of your "career" as the Emperor's Wrath, killing Republic/Jedi forces all over the galaxy), you get sent off to some distant planet (one of the new ones they'll implement) to hunt down Master Satele Shan by order of the Emperor himself, and by doing that will cause other events to happen that would eventually culminate on the Sith Order being crippled almost permanently. But the twist is that this was all Master Satele's and Jedi Order's idea in order to divide the Sith by sending them to hunt down the Jedi and leading them into a trap. Maybe somehow they were able to get to the real Emperor via the Jedi Knight character and influenced/controlled him to do so (by killing the Emperor's Voice, he became weakened). Or maybe, one of the Sith Masters from the Dark Council betrays the Sith Order (or is a Jedi that was able to conceal himself) to turn every Sith against each other and was using you (the Sith Warrior) specifically as an agent to that effect. That would give the character some more depth as he/she would start deeling with guilt, regret, doubt, being deceived to kill your own kind and would make for some interesting choices regarding what to do/what has been done. Would be pretty cool if you, in the end of all this, became one of the last remaining Sith (furious if Dark Side, reluctant if Light Side), responsible for rebuilding or not the New Sith Order. I'll stop now lol, too many ideas blazing through my head
  15. Play one of the so called "underdog" classes, i.e., the ones people are always complaining are bad/useless/weak, but in fact are the most fun, and are in no way bad/useless/weak namely Operative/Sniper, Juggernaut, Marauder and their counterparts on the Republic side. In my experience, they're awesomely fun, have a great story and should definately be played:cool:
  16. Oh yeah Jaesa is awesome! Too bad she can't heal or I wouldn't be dragging Quinn along all the time xD
  17. He's not fat. He has a glandular problem. xD
  18. http://swtorclassguides.net/swtorclassguides/2012/02/21/the-definitive-concealment-operative-leveling-guide/ You're welcome
  19. People are gonna tell you many different things on this subject So here's me doing that: Immortal with DPS gear (mods included) and Quinn. I have yet to die (or reach less than 70% health after a fight) while questing, I can even solo Heroic 2+'s without breaking a sweat. My damage is pretty darn good for a tank spec, I basically completely obliterate normal and strong mobs, elites take a little longer, but there's no downtime at all P.S.: I have the most recent mods on all of mine and Quinn's gear, and the best gear I could get for my level. Also, I have Biochem, and basically with reusable Medpacs and Presence stims, me and Quinn can take on just about anything.
  20. If you want consistent damage, then Vengeance is the way to go. Try this build with any variation/changes you see fit: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1010MZIGMR0uddhRZG00M.1
  21. Well I too prefer leveling as Immortal (Invincible, Backhand and Sonic Barrier are awesome talents, you really feel like a ruthless, cruel and hard-to-kill Sith Lord) with some Vengeance talents to boost damage. I mean sure, damage isnt tremendous, but I'd rather have longer and more epic fights, specially against class quest bosses, and I do very very well with either Quinn or Vette (I prefer using Vette). Tanking is ok so far (some minor issues but nothing terrible) , PvP as Immortal is good, you get great control and utility, although rule no.1 is "you're not a hero, you're not gonna win against everyone 1v1 so learn to back away from a fight to help your team mates, you're not gonna top damage very often, you're a nuissance to all your enemies, you're gonna make it almost impossible for them to kill your team mates" (I'm still low level, average 5-6 medals but Im learning, never been much of a PvP'er), DPS I've heard is very good and consistent, havent tried it out, but if in a Immortal/Veng build like mine I do pretty good dps, I imagine in Vengeance it's a lot better
  22. You might wanna check this thread out too, this build offers more control and support: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=208529 I might give this a try, it seems like it gives you some more utility
