  1. I haven't attempted it yet.. just pretty unhappy with the entire chain, and how out of nowhere this heroic comes up.. I don't like heroics. If i want to do group content I'll do flashpoints and op's.. to stick a heroic in a chain after like 6-8 hours of pure quest grind it's pretty inconsiderate to the player. aka me, in this instance.. i've been doing this thing all day.. all night, and now right when I think i'm done this stupidity pops up. I really dislike putting a heroic at the end of an extremely long solo quest. It's pretty poor.
  2. I saw reference to a 1000 cartel bonus for collecters edition, not sure how much this was at launch, I believe 89.99? or around there? What about us people who bought the normal edition for 59.99 we only get as many as the people who are now paying 15 dollars for the game?

     

    just wondering, that doesn't really add up to me.. people who have subscriptions dating from january/february should get something for dropping 60 shouldn't we? maybe half of the cedition's 1000.. 500 would seem fair.. I bought this game january 11'th around 2 weeks or so after launch. Would seem reasonable for the people like me who paid full retail price get something for that.

  3. and then a marauder or jugg jumps on you and you are finished... or a powertech for that matter.... commandos are easy to kill they are always my first target when i play my loltech or lolganaught, why? because well commandos are free kills. simple as that.

     

    not 100 pct, while up front duel style 1 on 1, ya, jugg/ptech/mar is probably going to beat an assault, in actual pvp, if you have any idea of what you're doing, the second they leap in you knock back, incen, aplast, freeze, hammer shot, hib.. they unfreeze about there.. full auto, hib again.. and unless it's an annoying jug.. grr, theyre just about dead at that point.. and instead of running towards you.. they wanna get the f away :p idk, it works.. sometimes juggs will have the anti knockback.. idk wth that is skill.. and that sucks.. but shrug, i can still compete fairly well.

  4. Gear and skill being equal, gunnery will out dps assault. Gunnery has more sustained dps and more reliable burst. Assault is decent if you just want to run around dotting people and not necessarily killing them. ;)

     

    Assault has more a little more utility in huttball considering the slows and the increased mobility, but as a gunnery commando I can control mid and melt anyone trying to pick up a neutral ball.

     

    wrong, unless they have a healer, i smoke gunnery commando/mercs. there's one or two that have beaten me 1 on 1. besides that, commando's/merc's die when they see me.. haha.

     

    incen round + assault plast..hammer shot for the dot, hib, full auto, hib again. dead. and if u really wanna f'k their day up. start the rotation with a no cost, insta cast plasma grenade. that's mean though.. but fun. cuz plasma grenade.. omg. so nice.. if they are'nt dead after all that, a stockstrike will usually finish em off haha.

     

    the best part about assault is that 5/6 of that is on the move, you can run around them, los them, and all that fun stuff, and they can't do dick about it. the only skill in that rotation that makes you stop is full auto, and after the plast/hammer/incen/hib they're kinda dumbfounded.. i've found at least. try it, it's fun heh.

  5. my main spec for pvp, and.. honestly pve too now is assault on my commando. In my mind, it's the only viable choice, if played right, you can do almost... as much as vang/ptech aspec but you get heals, and heals are nice.. my highest wz with full battlemaster is 421 k damage. not too shabby considering aspec vang's top out at like 5-600 it's still less but it's the only spec that can pretty much, just about... almost keep up with them. I love it, it's the only class I play in pvp, it's fun, and quite viable.
  6. I think most of the F2Pers will play for the story, stop, and never play again.

    It's obvious that their plan is to sucker people in with this F2P demo while simultaneously nickeling and diming both the F2Ps and the subscribers.

    Meanwhile, scores of players are leaving because they see the writing on the wall. I seriously doubt that EA/Bioware will gain more subs than they lose from this decision.

     

    disagree, never played a game where i've leveled to max and then just stopped.. if it has end game, I want to check it out, if i've taken the time to level 1-50 I'm going to want to progress my character further, and that means end game operations and warzones, and I think most gamers are like that.

  7. 1- There's still a lot of benifit for subbing if you want to do stuff like operation, having multiple character, not paying for every new content etc.

     

    2- I know a lot of people who would not play league of legend if it wasnt free. I also know people spending money for skins.

     

    I think a lot of people will try this game because it is free and some of them will sub, some will buy stuff at the cartel shop and some will be a waste of space. But really who cares, as long as they get more money from this game to produce more content i'm fine with it. And as a bonus i get free cartel coin to spend at the shop with my subs, i always thought swtor lacked fluff.

     

    honestly.. couldn't agree more.. I can only see this helping SWTOR in the long run. And for us people that have been here since january, that's what we want.. I want this game to grow, and get better, it's a great game.

     

    I really hope it works, swtor is way too good of a game, and is hands down, so much better than either ddo/lotro.. hopefully some of the ppl that currently play there will see this and want to play.. anything that makes us grow is a + 1 for real.. here's to hope.

  8. Despite liking the game some of us choose to not be blind and act like BioWare is doing us a favor by letting us play. We're paying for certain services which they've promised to provide, but failed to do so. Besides that, they're ignoring all of the hot topics and things that truly worry the community, and choose to ignore us all week and then answer 5 random questions and expect us to be happy. If the game isn't finished they shouldn't have released it in dec. And to those saying it's an MMO and it needs to grow, fine, but as long as we're treated this way, it's not gonna happen on my dime.

     

    ^ What thousands of other people agreed with and have so caused the need for servers merges- Oh, I mean transfers, merges sounds like they did it because of low pops!

     

    what services are we paying for, that they've failed to provide? even with rpvp, which got pushed back (sucks, but still kinda glad it happened.) they havent promised us anything, they have'nt done.. please name some, because I for one can't think of any.

     

    It's their game, and we pay for the right to play it.. that's all. If you are'nt satisfied then shoot, go play wow, and then come back, because it's worse there.

  9. I asked when is this new planet and new companion thing coming out. They show us this stuff at E3 and we still have no idea when we will see it. I do not think it is too much to ask. You say $15 I have spent $150 + shipping + tax on the game itself plus paid every month since launch. I think I have a right to ask when this new content they teased us with is coming. How can they still not have any idea when this is coming out?

     

    you're asking too much. Sorry, you don't have a right to know :p. It's their game, would I like an in on when the next content patch is coming out? heck ya, but I don't feel like I'm entitled to it, just because i've paid the subscription..

     

    Are there certain things in this game that I wish were different? yes. Is it my right to have them change it to what I want it to be because I paid my part of the entry fee? no.

  10. see, i'm not sure, I used to feel the same way.. to an extent. But, honestlay man, after playing D3 and seeing their community support, I feel like for the size game this is, and for the amount of people that play here, the Dev's don't do that bad of a job.. idk man, it could be tons worse.
  11. so troopers, get a 5 second reduction on a one minute skill.. and bounty hunters get a 5 second reduction on a 30 second skill? what? Maybe i'm just not seeing things straight, but the merc getting a 25 sec knockback vs the commando getting a 55 second stun.. uhh? ya, that does not add up, why are these not the same? the 25 second knock back is soooooooo much better, than a 55 second stun.

  12. I took a couple month break, just came back a few days ago. What happened to my guns? Why do they sound like mercenaries? ugh it sounds like a cheap pop gun now, also, you changed the feel, rrk, why? it doesn't feel the same as it used to, my timing is all f'd up, give us back the big boom, I seriously don't ever see myself touching my, used to be main, gunslinger with how it feels/sounds now, it's awful.
  13. I can't believe I'm even wasting my time writing this but are you guys high? You picked one of the 3 healing classes and no matter what spec you want to run, every single healing class has base heals, ALWAYS. If you don't want them go play a different class. Seriously do you think sages or scoundrels base heals go away because they want to run dps so some utility just magically falls from the sky to fill those slots???? Think before you post guys

     

    no. but sage/sorcerers dps output, and general usability is so much better. full bubble, 1 second heal, hutt ball pull, i get a 25 pct shield.. 2, 2 second heals, and a 15 pct heal regen that's on a 3 minute timer.. oh and a cleanse.. meh..

  14. I don't want utility, if we're supposed to be this heavy armor glass cannon, then fine, but I need more dps to fulfill the job. I could care less if I had a stun. the heals are basically crappy med packs for me, that's the only way I use them, and i've never once used the cleanse, nor do i see myself ever using it. take those 3 away, and give us the dps that assault spec vanguards have and i'll be happy.

     

    just did a wz, this assault spec vang did 450 k damage.. 450 k! I worked my butt off to get 200.. got 10 medals.. for it.. cmon man.. The truth is, no, I don't want them to remove the utility we have, but gosh dangit, I want to be a dps, and I don't want to feel hindered because my, completely crappy heavy armor, and 2 second, useless heals are the reason why I can't match the dps of that guy.

     

    commando dps really needs help, you nerfed gunnery in 1.2 but you did nothing.. for assault spec.. I think you may have nerfed it as well.. don't remember.. pre 1.2 i was gunnery, because it was fun then. assault spec is the only viable option for pvp atm, The thing is, and I don't mean to toot my own horn, but i'm a fairly adept player at it, and I can't get past 230 k.. for anything, it's impossible.. what ranked teams ever going to want me on their team? I do sub par dps and oh wait.. i can stealth scan! .. 200 k extra damage vs stealth scan.. hmm... oh wait!.. vang's get stealth scan too.. haha.. so that's not the reason! then what is? what is the reason my dps is so sub par?

     

    remove the heals if that's what's needed for us to get dps.. on second thought.. haha, vanguards have an interrupt.. so they trump our crap 2 second useless heals to start..

     

    please fix my class bioware.. I really do enjoy it, but I'm not going to keep playing if I keep doing such subpar dps when I have nothing to say, hey, this is why, this is why my class has low dps, because of skill _______. it doesnt exist, we don't have a unique ability.

  15. doesn't make one bit of sense why i have these two skills that i hardly ever use. I don't want them, and if this is the reason that my dps and survivability is so lackluster then I say get rid of them. I want to be a dps, not an off healer, if I wanted to be a healer I would have picked it. But I didn't, I picked assault spec because gunnery just gets shut down and can't get skills off in pvp post 1.2. my main top tier skill in assault spec in pre 50 pvp hits for like 1-2 k less than what i'm seeing other classes hit me for. And this is a skill that has a 3-4 second pre tick before it even works.. ugh.

     

    This is silly, look at the boards, noone is happy with their dps spec commando, at least not in pvp, theyre awful compared to every other advanced class. Remove the 2 baby heals, and the crap cleanse that I never use if this is the hindrance for actually making our dps viable in pvp.

  16. 48 commando, currently Assault spec and have been since 43, pvp leveled 43-48:

     

    it's a fun spec, it has good movement, and interesting skills. But, the damage is sub par compared to vanguard/powertech same spec. I honestly could care less if you gave us an interrupt.. i'm fine without one, but give us some damage as return heh.. we need more damage.

     

    assault plastique is cool, but it needs to be something more than just a ramped up version of sticky grenade. There's nothing creative about a skill that does the same thing as another skill you already have, it's just lazy. give it some utility, or a dot, added on to the pre tick and that would make it fun.

  17. If they made the field respec free or inexpebsive to legacy 30 or above as a nod to their hard work and max out respec costs at somewhere in the ballpark of 10 k. I wouldn't keep asking about dual spec heh. It would be a nice easy feature to the players who've been going strong, like me, since December or January.

     

    Jan. 3rd myself, legacy 36, would love to get a bonus besides the completely unimpactful Founder title. This might be my choice as favorite, the free or cheap, 50 k tops field respec for legacy 30 + and max 10 k respec fee. You'd be showing some love to us people who've been with you from the beginning.

     

    The reason I'd like this so much is that I love dirty fighting for pvp but prefer sharpshooter for pve, and I do a lot of content per week so switching back and forth when the price tag is 99800 really hurts. I ended up spending around half a million credits two weeks ago, because I wanted to play the game the way I like, I highly dislike when cash sinks like this hinder the way I want to play the game, just a thought.

    The thing is there is no skill in gear based mmo's so maybe dont call them "bads" when they could easily have more skill than you.

  19. This is why I am avoiding 50+ content... Not everyone knows what they should and shouldn't have. I would hate to queue for ages for a HM FP and get turned away because my gear was not up to the elitist standards. I would love to do FP's and HM but I have not done barely any and I have played since beta.

     

    The highest FP I have done is colicoid war games. I wish it was different I would like to experience the whole game but people like this put me off..

     

    You have to remember there are a lot of people like myself who have never played an MMO before and are on a steep learning curve with a lot of things. To just exclude someone because they do not reach you level of expectation will make players feel they are not worthy and it will push more away from the game. Instead give a helping hand and advice... People complain about the community.. when they act like elitist snobs sitting on their pedal stool's looking down at us mere mortals in judgement.

    It's not an elitist standard, you can run normal level 50 flash points to get a couple blues then gear up columi armor doing every hard mode besides lost island. I'd suggest giving it a try and not branding people who've used this system of content to gear up elitist jerks.. We all were in greens at some time. I'm now in full rakata supplanted with two pieces of black hole gear.

     

    If you don't want to do the content don't, but don't brand people elitist jerks because they expect the people they group with to have gone through some of the effort at least they did while gearing up.

  20. Excellent idea, if this isn't part of the lfg tool make it so, post haste.

     

    Just to state, in experience with the content, both denova and lost island take better than average gear. You can try li hm with greens and 3/5 column but good luck. Minimum for hm denova is pretty much full rakata 18.5 k hps + it's not easy, if they have this as part of the lfg, which I hope they do there's going to have to be an item level check. The content demands it.

  21. Honestly, I don't see why commandos have so many issues. Plasma cell is the snare, it triggers off any weapon attack and applies a 50% snare, it refreshes every HIB. You've got a massive knockback and a 50% snare. Ever consider kiting? You don't need to do max DPS to beat someone you just need to do more than they do and outside of 10m a vanguard cannot reset HIB proc at all (and assault don't get a gap closer).

     

    In the gunnery tree you have two knockbacks and a slow on full auto - create gap and capitalize.

     

    It's not really that hard but the commandos and mercs I fight are still in pre-1.2 mode where they just slam the 1 button over and over again and expect to win while I've got 37 hotkeys to juggle.

    Have you played one? Not to off track my post but a 1 v 1 with assault spec commando vs assault spec vanguard, the vanguards going to win every time. Which sucks, they're supposed to be equal but they're not at all.

  22. bioware, you have to know, I can't see how you don't, melee in this game, in pvp at least, and in some ways pve, are vastly overpowered. just did 2 pvp matches in a row. I'm an assault commando, not gonna even talk about this, because I'm pretty sure, all the hate they've received from commando's over all the changes and differences between the effectiveness of vanguard/powertech assault spec, and commando/mercenary assault spec.

     

    That's an example though, but what I'm really talking about is marauders/sentinels, well honestly ya, powertech goes in here, because they as well are vastly overpowered, and assassin/shadow dps/tank. shoot, even jugg/guardian is usually too much for me to handle.

     

    I did two matches in a row as I said, with our team mainly consisting of ranged dps, vs an imp team of pretty much all marauders. We got trounced. Why? I know, all you marauder fans, with your L2P!! nonsense. sorry, I know how to play and it's still completely unbalanced, a ranged team, (minus maybe a sniper, because snipers vs commando = dead commando, not sure why, as we have heavy armor, and they have medium.. go figure.) , because melee attacks hit for more, and hit more often. Actually, it's less that they hit for more it's just that the amount of time it takes to dish out damage is so much less than any ranged.

     

    This has to be changed, it's a detriment to us commando's/mercs, sage/sorc's, there's no way we can keep up vs this kind of team, and that sucks, because pvp is supposed to be balanced, we need better tools to combat this kind of enemy, my slows are 2 seconds long.. how long's a marauders? it's 7 isn't it? 7 or 5.. it's so silly. melee as we speak is nowhere near balanced, this needs to be addressed before rated pvp comes out, becuase you're just going to see teams of sent/marauder, vang/powertech, just owning ranks for the sheer fact that they can do damage more quickly.

     

    as an addendum, i'm usually op's leader, and i usually average 6-10 medals a game, so I do, know how to play heh.
