  1. Use to play a ton first year of the game, enough so to have the best gear and was once considered one of the better players on the server. Now I'm fumbling over abilities and have no sense of direction with where to go, or what's what.

Hoping to find a guild to meet some people again and hopefully help me learn all the new.

  2. I'm a jedi sentinel, and i want the stats of the Jedi guardian vindicator gloves for one of my armor pieces. I have a couple questions. Can i purchase the guardian WH gloves and swap all the mods including the armor mod of the guardian gloves to my sentinel gloves?

Can i choose to swap all the guardian WH glove mods to my pants/legs if i choose?

If yes, do i still get Sentinel set bonus's if i do this or no?

Anyone who can answer these questions for me, thanks in advance.

  3. If you are a marauder/sentinel and lose to a pyro you are very bad. Im sorry that is the trouth of it. Its a simple DPS race and you have 4 abilities to prolong your life while they have 1 12 sec shield while you will have a full 30 sec rebuke due to dots+the 3 other defensive cooldowns.

No, i don't lose to a PT when i have all my cooldowns up 1vs1. But you add healers to the mix on both sides and all the encounters when my long CDs are down they will win. They have ridiculously high sustained damage that can't be avoided like a smash/sweep can be.

  4. I play a sentinel, and there were some changes, but some of the buffs we got we definitely did not need as the class overall was mostly fine before the patch, just needed a few tweaks to the trees.

But i don't understand why all the threads are nerf mara/sent? Sure they could revert some of our stuff back, but is no one else out there getting ***** by DPS powertechs? There is a premade on our server that is just 3 DPS power techs and a ops healer and they just obliterate everyone, even our premade. They seriously can burst any class down in seconds way faster than even a couple mara's can.

I'm fine if they revert a few of the buffs sents/maras got back to pre 1.2. But they better nerf power techs the same because right now they are dominating my whole server at max level.

  5. Ya, if you capture L and R, thats all well and great. But at the very beginning of the match the main concern is just getting two turrets. and at the very start when all nodes are neutral it is easier to cap L and M than it is L and R.

The R turret is further away from your faction and closer to the opposing faction. So not only might they cap it before you even get a chance to stop them, when players die on both sides and fly back, their reinforcements will come slightly quicker. On top of that their guys in mid can come quicker than your guys can from L.

  6. It's been how long since release now?

I assume this is a joke, if you got the game at release and haven't managed it (as a player who wants to pvp) then you must be the most casual of casuals.

    :edit:

My main is BM without trading a single kill (or camping a single enemy spawn).

i pvp a bunch and have been playing since launch i dont have full BM =(

    10 tokens/112 bags

  7. I pretty much cap surge (which isn't hard) as mines at +297 surge rating. After that its Power and then crit.

I think im sitting at +390 bonus damage, 27% crit, and 75.2% crit multiplier and 11.85% expertise buff in my full set of pvp gear. (self buff/power stim included)

And im Watchman spec and pvp gear so yes this is for pvp.

  8. Warzone heal/adrenal are better. Why? because if you pop it, yes it puts your bio heal/adrenal on CD too, but it only puts it on THEIR CD. So the bio medpac/adrenal will come back up and be ready for use sooner than the WZ adrenal/heal.

So i keep all 4 on my bar.

  9. WASDQE are all movement keys for me. 1-5,R, F, C, X are the only things i hit with my left hand (9 buttons). The other 10 or so i mouse click.

And sometimes i notice im slow at it, and sometimes this game makes your cursor disappear which doesn't help, and sometimes i get so locked up on paying attention to what is NOT on cooldown that i didn't notice my target moved on me.

But even with all that, i feel like if i play a few matches, get in a groove...then i am going just as smooth as a full keybinder player.

Also you just have to realize that for the most part, sent/maras have every ability possible to win any fight. Which means being a fraction of a second quicker (while helpful) USUALLY wont make the difference in the fight. What makes the difference in the fight is just using the right ability at the right time (within a 1-2 second gap).

So even if my clicking is .5-1 sec slower than a keybinder. If i saberward at the proper time, pacify at the right time, interrupt the right ability i will win the fight regardless if im slower.

  10. I like to stay on top of my target. So i will sometimes even use strike over it if im trying to stay right on a guys a**. But ya if some fool is going to stand there for a couple seconds i will use it for the first 2 tics and then depending on how much focus i have or what CDs im waiting for i might let it finish the 3rd hit. But the 3rd one takes forever...the first 2 are pretty quick.
  11. This is what i notice good powertechs do, and it make it a pain in the *** to beat them.

    1. They try to burst me down as fast as possible without conserving ammo to force me to pop saber ward as soon as possible

    2. As soon as they see me pop rebuke (early in the fight), they stun/kite me to wear it off (I have to save trinket for when they stun me to prevent guarded by the force/undying rage)

    3. I leap to them. They pop the shield which also removes snaring effect.

    4. They pop their shield + health regen to counter my saber ward. Usually at this point my hp is lower than his.

    5. They trinket my force choke

    6. When i get low, they use the second stun on me. I pop trinket + undying rage. At this point, the fight is decided with the winner ending with really really low hp. However, if somehow they didnt use their first stun yet...I lose. They can burst me down from 20% to 0% in a single stun.

This. My hardest 1vs1 fight ever was against a power tech. and i won the fight with only 340 hp left.

  12. The Focus spec is intended for slow players and mostly mouse clickers. It was designed so that bad players can enjoy the game too.

Enjoy the fun you are having with only the four buttons you mouseclick, but Focus is not the path of the advanced and capable Sentinel player.

Focus is what I would have my Dad play, if he wanted to play SWTOR, and only intended on playing through the quest story.

Well in his post he specifically said Watchman has more buttons and focus is easier to play because it has less buttons.

  13. 7.5k crit will never happen, especially after the surge nerf. I want video proof where you show your surge, and then getting that crit.

I have both BM weapons, implants, bracers, belt. The rest champion with even a couple T3 rakata mods in them and all the datacrons. I have like 75.2% surge, 390 power increase.

I can pop 15% expertise adrenal, with mara 15% dmg buff, and relic and my highest crit was an annihilate for 5.5k. Maybe a slam as rage specced would of done 6.5k on the same target but 7.5k i do not believe to be possible after surge nerf.

  14. Sents/Maras are beast 1vs1. But in group you do truly feel useless sometimes when you come across good opponents.

I had a civil war match against some imps that knockback/rooted me, stuned me, snared me, but no one actually attacked me. They killed my healers and range dps while i spent 20 seconds attacking an enemy and 50 seconds being CC'd and kited.

Like i said though, was a good team, anytime i touched their healer i got hit with a snare/root/stun. But did not feel so OP being shut down out of the fight for so long.

  15. When you guys say it cancels each other out, what do you mean by that exactly?

Like if you both have 12% expertise then neither of you receive a damage increase or damage mitigation against one another?

Because if the stat effects your hits vs his mitigation, then it doesn't cancel out expertise.

If i hit someone for 2,000+12%(+240 dmg). But his mitigation is added after that, then he would reduce the damage of the hit by 12%(268.8 dmg). Which would mean same expertise, the mitigation does more than the damage bonus.

But im not sure if that's accurate as i guess it would depend on the formula the game uses which i don't know it.

  16. Nice job on the damage.

Match was a tie, and other team had a 2nd healer and tanks while your team had zero tanks and 1 healer.

The guy who left obviously left at the start as he has zero in all stats. So it was an 8vs8.

As for damage being fluff, almost no damage is fluff. I play a sentinel, and that "fluff" damage gets targets down to 70-60% and makes them good targets to burst down before a healer knows what hit them. AoE damage does a good job of keeping the enemy healer very occupied and usually all those DoTs and AoE get a few guys missing 30% of there health, so me and my sent friend can annihilate them.

OP did his job, he did a ton of damage, got a ton of kills. Some shadow/mara/ops should of snuck past the fighting to cap the door. Though for all we know they tried that, and for all we know his team didn't have enough damage to burst through the other teams tanks taunt spams and the healers to cap a door before rezzers came back. But you don't do a million damage without helping in some way.

  17. ^^^^^ This is what i mean. My memory of original WoW is fuzzy on group numbers and if MC was in at launch or not, though i thought it was. And kiting drak lol i forgot how horrible that was as a noob pug at first.

But pretty much what above poster said, all of those things felt way more epic and this game does not have that feeling at all and the content is way too easy to skip(4 mans) or way too easy to do (ops raids) for rewards that are either not rewarding(unnecessary gear to progress) or too easy to acquire.

  18. i have a 2.4 quad core intel processor, 3 gigs of ram, and a nvidia 560 GTX(?) i think. i dont remember the 3 letters but its one of the new series ones, i bought it only a few months ago.

Either way ya mines not the best computer but its not incredibly old or anything either. And sadly anything more than 13vs13 in Ilum will cause my fps to drop to 1-5. if it gets to 30vs30 or more my game will ultimately freeze.

  19. i didn't need columi to get rakata, myself and most the raid just had champion gear. Which im pretty sure should be if its not already worse for raiding than tionese gear. and a bunch of people in T2 pvp (which again should be worse than t1 pve) should not be able to so easily walk through the HM ops raids. And we did easily walk through it.

While nightmare mode might be a different story...its irrelevant as you get no better gear stat wise or vanity looks wise.
