  1. I find it odd that I like it so much yet I never see anyone else dropping flames. Not only was the performance improved in 1.2 greatly but it's now just a plain ol' awesome looking power!

  3. I've always been against the constant criticism that we're weak but in fairness, I think more of the complaining was pre 1.2 where you couldn't get Recruit gear right out of the box like that. And recruit gear now is much better than previous iterations of PvP gear. But all said, I think sniper kicks ***. I love it compared to my BH which I leveled to 50 first. And I like it infinitely better than my healing Smuggler Scoundrel.
  4. I've only ever found the schematics at my trainer. Only 1 grenade is REALLY worth it to Cybertechs and that is the lvl 50 Sludge Grenade. It does -70% speed for 8 seconds. Kaliyo is great for Underworld. I believe Scorpio is good for Slicing, if that helps. Slicing is always a great money-maker. Getting purple underworld can bring in a pretty penny too, with Mando Iron and Promethium...
  5. Check his implants and earpiece. Some people are not having their stats applied. If so, remove it and then put it back on. I had to do this for my Lokin and his stats went from in the 900's to over 1100's after being reapplied.
  6. The MM Sniper I always played with in OPS (and who did just fine) would be interested in hearing this.

  8. I noticed this in the patch notes: Earpieces and implants now properly apply their stat bonuses when equipped on companions. Apparently, it only properly applies these stat bonuses if you remove the pieces and then put them back on your character. I was on Corellia running the dailies when I noticed Lokin could barely keep one of us healed, let alone both. So when i opened up my character sheet, I noticed his Cunning/Endurance were both in the low 900's. So I took off one implant and put it back on and his stats shot up. Did it for all 3 pieces and now he's back to 1168/1153... So if you notice your companions seem gimped, take a look at their stats...
  9. I don't have confirmation because the animation plays but I don't believe it damages. It's hard to tell, for certain. I'm leaning towards it NOT staying upon death. So I mainly try to sneak off if I drop it.
  10. Can you remind me which class got the 1.2 buff where they can wipe all 4 marauders out and keep along on their merry way?
  11. vs. acting like a troll who isn't aware of how to play a class and condemns the entire player base's choice of rolling sniper? Essentially, that's what you're doing by insinuating we're too stupid to figure out how bad it is. I'll take the former. And what does a 120hz LCD display have to do with the speed of your computer? As an IT guy, you should know it doesn't mean a thing.
  12. One thing to keep in mind as well is the new Recruit Armor gives as good a bonus as the best of the old stuff did, as well. Right? So now PvP gear makes all the difference whereas I was kinda - meh... regarding it before. I'd rather wear my Rakata/Columni...
  13. It's an MMO. Of course it'll be a grind - regardless of what they put out, and regardless of which game it is.
  14. My thoughts and ideas are that you will not be getting a redesigned class any time soon after 1.2 so this is a pointless exercise.
  15. You definitely want the Sniper Rifle due to higher min/max damage. You can go with Blaster Rifle if you want but you gain NOTHING from it. It's not like it gives you better mobility or anything of the sort.
  16. I feel full Engineering (31 points have been spent in that tree for me - likely to go up in 1.2) is great now. And seeing as every note for Engineering in 1.2 seems like a buff to me, I think it's going to be even more viable going forward. Anyone who says Engineering is no good is not only exaggerating but I think anyone in my guild that I raid/FP with would flat-out disagree with them. And people on my Voidstar/Alderaan teams really love my Engineering spec, seeing as I can protect doors and turrets with minimal help. As long as I don't die, they are NOT opening or turning. Let's not even discuss the fact that you have an almost endless supply of energy if played correctly. My MM guildie can't say the same thing.

  18. One great perk of Cybertech is your lvl 50 Sludge grenade. -70% speed for 8 seconds. Besides the obvious use of a big group in PvP (hits up to 5 targets), you can use it as a oh-****-type getaway power if someone gets up on you. With CD timer getting dropped (I was hoping for 2 minutes), it's going to be even more useful than it is now. I have definitely seen a -70% speed debuff lead to a score or two in huttball

I have Plasma Probe and without a combat log, it'd be hard to say precisely (look at the notes on the lethality fix for the reason I'm not going to say 100%), but I'd assume each 'pulse' should be able to affect 3 people. So if it's a different set each time, then the 3 new targets would take damage. Earlier in the thread, someone asked if it lasts through death and you know, I always assumed it did but I did notice one time after I died, someone capped even though it was pulsing. My guild even commented on it in raid and I wrote it off as possibly just not being close enough to the door on Voidstar. What I'm curious about is how they're going to have more of the damage front-loaded in 1.2. Anyone tried it? Does it pulse faster earlier on or does it start with higher damage and then have diminishing returns for each subsequent pulse?
  20. I don't necessarily try to cover both doors with my Eng. Sniper but I can have 6-7 on one door while I keep dropping Plasma Probe on my door. If I'm about to die, drop it and let team know. They have a sec to hold it... Eng is awesome in PvP. My build is 7/31/3 - but I may give up the 3 in Lethality and find a spot to work them back into Eng. now that the Lethality skill only gives 1% boost instead of 2% each point in 1.2
  21. Are you taking into considering that other sniper's gear compared to your BH?
  22. Exactly. He's basically saying "I don't want to do the same stuff from 1-49. It's repeating the lvl 50 stuff that's fun." To me, playing another class has been more fun than the gear grind after you get to 50...
  23. I don't know about 'drastic' but I'm almost certain I did hear the cooldown would be lessened. I'm hoping for 2 minutes (or less, but that's just being greedy).
  24. I thought we had 35m range on several of our sniper-ish attacks. 30m on all others...
