  1. the damage is quite a bit higher (60%?). but single target only, it makes for a good burst set up. TD->powershot->railshot will all hit at the same time basically.

I still use ED quite a bit (like on voidstar doors) when I need AOE, but most of the time I use TD for the higher burst capability.personally I wish it replaced ED, like tracer does for powershot :(

  2. currently have 11

one of them I was not able to be abandoned the moment I got it. talked to the guy said maybe i'll get around to it, saw what i needed to do and decided to abandon it right then and there...nope.

every quest except class ones should be able to be abandoned.

  3. That's a bug, not a wallhack. I've gotten knocked down there before, I was standing on the edge and hidden strike knocked me right into the box. I've been knocked into the nothingness below the Huttball arena before as well.

The person you are so publicly calling out is the victim of a bug. Worse, you're trying to get him banned in public and shameful manner.

    This.

sorry been stuck in there 3 times this week.

on a side note... worked out really well for my sniper :p

  4. I remember in beta when they added the hangers to fleet.

it was so nice before: click any of the "hanger doors" load right into your ship...

I must say I also enjoy the quests that send me to fleet to "talk" to someone. I click on them and then get to travel to another planet....really? I travel to fleet as a way-point? just to click on someone? for no reason?

more travel time sinks in this game than anything I have ever seen.

  5. when did BM gear start making you do 2x as much damage? 10% is a bonus but its not the end of the world. and it is definitely not a 2x damage increase. learn to quote numbers correctly

10% bonus is just from expertise. there is the matter of stats also. the difference between pieces is pretty staggering. a new 50 will have what? 12-13k health and 1k or so on the primary stat? a fully geared champ (not BM) will not only have the 10-12% expertise but also 1.3-1.5k on the primary stat.

so while he only hits 10% harder than you, his basic hits are harder anyways. you hit for 1k, he hits for 1.4k +10%, that difference adds up very fast. take your newbie lv 50 gear and add about 50+ total stats to it (12 surge, 20 end 10 aim 8 power whatever) and give that to each piece, that's a huge power improvement.he also probably has around 3k or so more health + armor and also takes 10% less damage right off the top.

(using made up numbers to illustrate a point)

10% is just icing on the cake.

in beta they had pvp gear 10-50, even a brand new 50 could at least nullify most of the expertise and have some kind of a fighting chance. unless the person you are fighting is completely brain dead/afk/10% health/ or it's 3-1 they should never lose to a new 50.

    gear>skill

  6. Are you sure that was on the only way? Cause I know on Hoth has a part where if you look at the quest map it sends you through the republic base and not the imperial part, but when you go further south I think the quest map then reflects the correct entrance. IE it the quest map seems to send to the quickest path rather than the path you need to take.

    probably.

many places on hoth are zone divided by a base, so whatever base to zone transfer is close will light up. I know I have ran into pvp areas multiple times due to simply following the green arrows. there are several other planets that use an underground passage or building whatever to lead to the same zone, but different faction areas.

think it's voss that has a zone line that you walk into a temple and the right side is republic the left is imperial, both light up for the quests in that zone, but going one way flags you the other does not.

  7.

Because WOW had 7 years to experiment and develop features - and then TOR ignored whole bunch of free R&D.

Over the last 7 years WOW implemented those features because of player input and now there's a lot of functionality that we expect to be included in the baseline game. Other games have taken a look at what their predecessors did and took the good stuff and built on it.

basically this. the game while fun for the most part is very unfriendly and annoying.

you cannot move/resize the UI. why?

companions close any open windows when they return.why?

you can only have two windows open.why?

there are orbital station and useless hallways galore.why?

joining pvp as a group auto disbands you and ques you solo when it's over.why?

the AH just plain sucks ***.why? look at other games AH and see what they did right, you don't need to reinvent the wheel (and make it a square).

why doesn't my companion gear show when I mouse over a piece of gear in my inventory so I can compare?

pvp (daily quests) sucks for most, que times, gear, whatever...

ability delay, sharded servers, massive instancing, 18hr fleet pass etc...

    could go on and on.

the problem is they saw what other games did right and then completely ignored it. saw what they did wrong and implemented a lot of it. it's death by a thousand cuts, nothing in this game is truely bad, but there is a whole lot of minor bad things, so the annoyance adds up fast.

when you see the AH in WoW/Rift and the then one in Swtor, you have to ask yourself why it sucks so much with all these other games to draw ideas from.

  8. love my sand people outfit. lv 40 atm with my sin. I am finding it harder to justify it however, since I'm starting to get rather nice orange quest rewards. Taking the mods out and putting them in my outfit works but is becoming expensive since to pull those mods it's getting upwards of 2-3k a mod. Not sure if I'm going to keep it till 50 or not, since it's just easier to take the quest rewards than to hassle with the mods.

I agree there should be "social" gear for all armor types, and not just light.

  9. Ive been playing with pyro today per the OP's post. I recently switched from Arsenal to Pyro to test out.

Keep in mind, I only have 2 champ pvp pieces, and the rest are my lvl 40 pvp pieces. I do fairly well on the DPS charts at the end of the round, but my issue is that the damage is way too slow and not enough burst. 1 on 1 against a tracer spammer (and from lag), I'll usually get owned even when I'm hiding behind some obstacle (again this is due to Bioware's or Mythic's failure at coding LOS with latency in mind).

The one thing that I DO enjoy about playing the pyro is that I can move around and I just dot people while doing mobile damage. I hate sitting in one spot because 2 of my main skills require me to cast/channel them.

I'll probably play with the merc pyro for a bit

just takes getting used to the build and learning it's strengths and weaknesses, the burst requires just as much setup as arsenal. the build is good in group play, 1 on 1 you will have a problem, if a melee gets on you about all you can do is rapid shots and hope for the best. it does require more thinking than arsenal (imo) because you rely on many of the default merc skills.

been playing it for a long time now and although I liked it better before the talent change it's still more fun to me than arsenal despite its large weaknesses.

  10. Description says "Increase stealth detection by 2...", but i don't see any differences! Stealthers still can sneak up close and start combat without detection. If that skill is broken I will gladly redirect points to other skills.

stealthers can increase their stealth level by 3 through talents. if you run into one that does not have that they are much easier to see, but if they do then they are 1 level "higher" than you so are much harder to see, without Infrared Sensors they are 3 levels "higher" than you and all but impossible to see.

  11. I definitely like Pyro for PvP on my 42 Merc. What I had a problem with was going out and questing. It seemed like multiple weak mobs just didn't die fast enough. Any tips?

use Mako and sweeping blasters. you will usually max out your heat but heat vents fast when you rest. 3x sweeping blasters + 1-2 rapid shots will clean up most groups, rest for like 2-3 secs and move on. alternate dfa opener +1 sweeping baster and fusion missile +1 sweeping blaster+rapid to clean up, then 3 sweeping blaster+ 2 rapid shots.

if you get gas procs off sweep it goes much smoother, the rapid shot use is for when you do not get a proc on 1-2 mobs and they have like 10% left. jet boost that 1 ranged mob that is usually 20 feet away into the others and turn off Mako's stun, it will just screw you up.

  12. Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

not much else to day really. the system was broken in beta and nothing has changed. BW has never acknowledged any complaints about it, so until they decide the system needs to be fixed all we can do is ***** about it to the other players who know it's screwed up.

they said in beta that player feedback didn't really matter, and that they were going to do what they wanted. well this is it.
