  1. I'm a Sage healer and I have no complaints with the changes made. I'm still unkillable 1v1 unless its a WH geared Mara, and even then if I play it right they'll be chasing me for a good deal of time before they bring me down. Sure you can't pop 1.3s deliverances anymore, but the sage healing skillset has always been more of a "keep everyone from dropping below 50%" and not a "heal someone from 5% to full instantly" sort of setup so losing a little bit of burst heal doesn't do all that much.

Commandos might be in a different boat, but I don't have a lvl 50 one myself so I can't comment on them.

  2. It's not any different than when I was playing WoW and new games / MMOs came out. I mean, half my guild went and played Aion when it came out, but we still logged on to do our raids at night.

Except that in WoW presumably you would go back to it and their would be people playing. If even 25% of the people on my server switch to play Diablo getting a WZ to pop is going to be almost impossible.

  3. I'm sure my time is gonna switch heavily to D3. My guess is I'll log in, see 20-30 ppl on the fleet waiting 30 mins for the single wz instance running (not one of the eight ppl picked? Better luck next time!), then log back out. I want to farm my WH gear, but outside of certain time windows its impossible.
  4. 2 50's WZ's at peak times total all weekend (and 1 to none at other times) has left a thoroughly bitter taste in my mouth. I don't foresee myself playing much anymore unless population numbers drastically change. PvP is still fun PvP IMO, but only when I don't always fight the same 16 or so Imperials because they are the only ones left.
  5. Maybe this doesn't work this way with the Nostromo, but on a regular keyboard you can have "1-12" at the top of the keyboard assigned to one thing, then the "1-12" Numpad keys assigned separately. That way you can directly assign those keys to the naga and save the extra ctrl/alt/shift for other things. There is a button you gotta flick on the bottom of the naga to make it act as the numpad though, and like I said before, I dunno if the Nostromo by default uses the 1-= at the top or the numpad, but I imagine it can be switched like the Naga.

Helpful stuff, I didn't read it all so you might have mentioned it, but the Naga and Nostromo do support Macros, you just gotta manually incorporate all the casting delays and such via the razer programs. I know ppl who swear by it, although for my healer at least I've never been able to come up with anything I'd always want chained together.

  6. You've been lucky. When an assassin/shadow warps with the ball from mid to the upper platform on the far side of the fire trap and no one from their team remotely close to them, then it's pretty obvious. Easy way to pick these people out is their characters stutter in place for a second before they teleport.

A sorc/sage probably pulled them while jumping and so you wouldn't be able to see them because of the ledge. Regardless, I've played hundreds of WZ's as well and never seen any kind of hack. Bugs, glitches, and lag issues that look likes hacks sometimes I'll admit to seeing, but an actual intentional manipulation of the game client has never crossed my path.

  7. The rotation has changed but the healing numbers aren't that different. Most of your healing (in terms of raw numbers) should be coming from your Sanctuary that is cast whenever it isn't on cooldown, then it's just business as usual except you won't be using your Rejuvenation procs on Deliverance, instead use them on healing trance or sanctuary, with a benevolence tossed in here or there if everything else is on CD. About the only time deliverance should be cast is when you aren't getting focused and someone on your team needs a lot of HP in as few heals as possible, in which case pop your Force Surge/Crit relics and hit them with 2x guaranteed crit deliverances (as opposed to pre-patch, when you would want to cast the 1.5s big heal as often as you could).

Pre-patch my best Civ War game was ~650K healing, and I was fighting/healing the whole time. Post patch It's been 600K but that was with me just standing around for the last 1/3-1/4 of the game cuz the other team had given up.

  8. Well then I guess you wait on the transfers. I dont see what the big deal is. You wont take long at all to get back seeing as you are on a heavily populated server. What took 600 hrs (doubt its that long lol people tend to exaggerate) prob take like 60 on fatman where you dont wait for WZs. Also is all you ever want to do simply work one guy to 50 and thats it? No wonder you arent happy.

25 days of playtime (when last I checked a week or so ago) x 24 hrs in a day = 600 hrs, and I still don't have all the War Hero pieces. That's with reasonable q times since the times when I can play my server has a healthy population. Yes all I want to do is get on person to 50, and have that person be in best-in-slot for every slot with all the legacy unlocks. That doesn't happen overnight and is what keeps me playing, not clicking conversation wheels and watching exquisitely voice-acted cutscenes (or spacebaring through them), or killing mobs with the AI of a rock from lvl 1-49 so I can get roflstomped in recruit gear by everyone else who has full WH when I get back to 50.

Regardless, I'm not complaining about my server, just acknowledging the incredibly obvious fact to anyone with 2 brain-cells to put together that BW needs to do something about server populations. Are you of the A, B, or C category good sir?

  9. Why not just reroll on a heavier populated server? I mean if it bothers you that much and you feel bored reroll on another server and level up a guy. It takes no time to level up once youve done it with a character. You can pvp your way instead of pve if you want on fatman for instance. There are choices out there for you at the moment. You just refuse to take advantage of them. Do not tell me how hard it is blah blah to start over. This game isnt even 6 months old. It will take no time to get back where you were on the original server.

I want to punch a kitten everytime someone tells people to re-roll. If by "take no time" you mean "take about 600 hours to get back to where you started, which at that point will put you ~600 hrs behind in the gear grind for 50's WZ's compared to everyone else who wasn't forced to re-roll, all at the same time not gaining any new legacy", then ya, it will hardly take any time at all. I don't want to level alts, I don't want to redo the valor and PvP gear grind once I get to 50, and I don't want to lose out on legacy and the missed 50's dailies until I get back to 50 for all the cash..

Don't tout re-rolls like they are the end-all ultimate solution to everything when they really shouldn't even be a serious consideration for a player since its BW responsibility to manage player populations and keep a healthy environment for as many of their paying customers as possible, i.e. every single one of them (at least in regards to population numbers, brush the QQ about Ops and Mara's under the table for all I care).

My server isn't even that bad. We got ~30-45 min queues in the morning, but other than that they usually pop pretty quick. I don't need a transfer but I certainly wouldn't mind getting them. That doesn't mean I can't sympathize with all those people on lower pop servers who literally can't play their characters anymore. Anyone who doesn't think that is a problem and something that should have been addressed last month, is either a) a total moron blissfully going about their way on The Fatman with blinders on to all their surroundings, b) an introverted egoist who is probably so self-delusional that they are convinced the only reason their server is full is because people joined it for the express reason of playing with them, or c) someone who re-rolled themselves, thus missing out on all the stuff I mentioned above and trying to get other people in the same boat. Misery loves company.

  10. yeah thinking about doing the same. They seriously nerfed the sorc healers which should be on par with the Sage healing, but are not.

Not to mention the latency speed hacks that the pvpers on my server (mostly republic - which is odd, you would think the "good guys" would not cheat) are running. They claim to have addressed it, but it is rampant.

I cannot keep up with the flavor of the week char, rerolled a marauder, but I bet it gets nerfed btt I hit 50.

I can only hope this was a troll post, and so i'll respond to it in kind..

You didn't know BW decided to boost sage heals and give all players on the republic faction a speed boost to fix teh faction imbalance? Are you telling me you sorcs don't get free noble sacrifice and 1.3s cast deliverances anymore?

  11. Only 2 of the 5 points I posted were related to rage spec.

Also, the best pvp spec is still annihilation post-patch, though all three are viable.

If you actually understood the class or played one you'd probably know that, but I'm beginning to count you among the ranks of people that would prefer Bioware to simply balance the game in favor of your class rather than learn how to defeat others.

P.S Only annihilation gets the 6sec interrupt timer. Seriously, you're even trying to sprinkle in more 31/31/31 with these rage-specc'd marauders rooting everyone and interrupting constantly. Also, powertechs get the same interrupt cooldown when specc'd.

If I wanted BW to balance in favor of my class, I'd have been here ************ and moaning about how delivarance isn't a 1.3s cast time anymore and I can now run out of force. In reality, I wholeheartedly agreed with the nerfs to sorcs/sages cuz our healing/sustainability was over the top. Now we actually have to think about what to cast/when to use noble sacrifice instead of just rolling face across the keyboard.

Anni is great for solo q where you want to get big numbers next to your name, but in an organized pre-made Rage is way more useful. The three mara's I fear most on my server are all rage spec... there is no escaping from them once they see me. I might be able to keep them busy for a bit of time, but I'm not gonna get them off me unless they just decide to leave me alone.

PS- a good mara isn't just using specc'd disruption to interrupt with. Force Charge and Force Choke (Warrior abilities) are interrupts too along with an aoe mez if they really want to keep me from casting anything. Keep trying to defend how UP your class is with it's top tier dps, best defensive CD in the game (which also greatly benefits from Rage spec), double gap closer, and ability to just peace away and heal up in the unlikely event they might actually lose.

Any nerfs that do go through will quickly be adapted to and overcome by good Maras/Sents, so why are you (and all the other mara's in this thread) so afraid of them?

  12. I'll indulge your ignorance.

    Based on your original post.

    1) Only carnage gets any roots outside of the inital 2s charge.

    2) Only carnage and rage get speed increases, annihilation only can use predation, which, if you do you're a bad annhil marauder. (Very situational need for predation, like getting to a node in time.)

    3) Only rage gets two charges.

    4) The healing/damage buff is on a 5 minute cooldown, allowing it for it to be used a whopping 2-3 times inside a warzone.

    5) They have a channeled 4sec stun and an aoe 6sec mezz that breaks on damage contact.

Please stop posting unless you actually know what you're talking about.

So you post a counter-argument that confirms everything I said so long as the Mara is a rage spec, which any good mara should be. Clearly I should stop posting, your infallible logic has truly demonstrated how they lack any and all forms of utility, I guess I'm just hallucinating when all the good Mara's on my server keep my immobilized and interrupt 2/3+ of my abilities with cast times, while still beating me to a bloody pulp.

Mara's need a nerf. Any Mara/Sent whose worth their weight on the field will acknowledge this and adapt to any nerfs with little to no problem, just like the good sages/sorcs did.

  13. Lol @ mara's lacking utility. Multiple move speed increases, multiple DR abilities, slows/stuns/roots (to be fair they don't have a knockback?), 2 gap closers on a 15s CD, one of which also interrupts, a healing buff that can be applied to the team, a healing debuff that can be applied to enemies...

Yep, sounds pretty lacking in utility all things considered, good thing they get crazy DPS to make up for it. To the pro player claiming force choke doesn't do any damage, you do realize you aren't supposed to use it until you get your DOTs up on someone, right? I'm in BM and augmented WH gear and I can assure you if I'm not cleansing myself of the DOTs every time my restoration is off cool down I'm gonna take a boatload of damage if they get me in a choke for 3s.

O, and they can get more expertise than everyone else to boot thanks to the ability to modify their offhand saber's color crystal. I realize it wasn't so much them getting buffed with the patch as expertise getting buffed (in terms of damage) in 1.2, but come on, no class should be a jack of all trades, master of most. They need some stuff scaled back a touch.

  14. At the time of this post (3:45 pst) there are 18 +/- 8-16 (depending on WZ groups) ppl on the fleet, 55 50's online total. It used to be 100+ 50's at any time of the day... gimme more ppl plz, at the very least gimme cross-server wz queue's since that is what I play 99% of the time anyways.
  15. The PvP gear is really only good once you hit 50... just questing around should net you all you need for equipment until you hit that point. Some of the class missions are quite difficult, especially those at the end of each act, but if you stay 3+ levels ahead of what the game recommends nothing should be that bad.

You PvP by clicking on the little faction icon on the bottom right side of the mini-map to enter a queue.

  16. Would like to know as well... seems pretty handicapable of them to put a WZ training dummy that doesn't take into account expertise because it isn't classified as a "player."
