First of all, if my post title did not clue you in, I am getting sick and tired of all of the pandering to "serious" game players. For goodness' sake, this is a game. This is not a job, this is just a waste of time which players, to one extent or another, enjoy. For myself, certain aspects make it less and less enjoyable to work...I mean play this game.
That said, I might be a minority player in saying that I have 10 characters and only one is level 50. I bought Rise of the Hutt Cartel but have not bothered to reach the new level cap of 55 with any of my characters. Why? Could it be that I don't give a you-know-what for bragging rights about a game? I don't know...maybe I just enjoy playing a game for the game's sake.
Still, more and more of this game content is exclusive to level 55 players, which probably make up the bulk of the players who have accounts, because most players are guys and guys seem to just NEED to be #1....never mind that they are just one among many many other level 55 players......
So, why don't the game developers take a hard look at the overall structure and STOP following WOW's lead: just because the first major MMORPG had level caps and most content for those at cap doesn't mean SWTOR has to follow suit. Content should be available across levels, unless it is level specific, such as flashpoints or planetary missions, of course.
PVP, especially, should include 4v4 arena warzones for all levels, so that players at all levels and all skill levels can practice. Speaking of, why can't players play in a practice warzone? We should be able to form a group of 8 and enter a selected warzone (such as hutball, which in particular could and should have practice mode, it is, after all, a team sport) to compete 4v4 in practice mode. This would enable groups to perfect strategies on both offense and defense.
I know I am moving from one topic to another - but honestly it is difficult to put all of these thoughts in coherent order. Suffice it to say that I have created many help tickets in-game only to be told by "droids" that I should be posting in forums where "Developers continually read feedback". I doubt that very much, but here is my post.
Lastly, tangent-related but I really can't be bothered to create a new thread (why should I? I am paying SWTOR, not the other way around, remember?): WHY ARE THE SPACE MISSIONS 1980 ARCADE LAME? WHO CODED THIS FLY ON A TRACK B.S.?
Go look at Star Wars Battlefront II. You can still play it online. You can jump in one o four ships and fly out of a hanger into space and fly around freely and shoot lasers and missiles. You can land on your own or an enemy ship, jump out of your vehicle and run around inside, doing things like disabling shield generators, auto turrets (which you can also sit down at and use to fire on enemy ships as an AA gun), and more.
Why, when BFII was released many years ago, is SWTOR relapsing to some of the classic arcade games like Bomber Squadron? Are you too lazy to code free-flight in space or is it not possible on your platform? Do you have any data as to how many players (or better, percentage of active players) actually engage in the space missions? I can't be the only one who finds them incredibly lame. STWOR would be so much better if we could engage in space battles PVP or vs AI where free flight (dog fighting) was the goal, rather than a lame fly-on-track and hit-the-targets-and-win-a-stuffed-bear-for-your-sweetheart LAMENESS.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Or rather, fix this game for players at any and all levels and for space flights.
