  1. You do realize that PT's also get a 9% aim boost too, right? It's in the Shield Tech tree. Most Pyros don't get it though. I agree with the person that said Pyro PT's are more mobile than Merc PT's. Mobility is very important in PVP. All of the PT Pyros abilities are instant, and Flame Burst just rocks.
  2. What the heck are you talking about? What do you mean that Pyros have the defensive capability to use flamethrower? Pyros have no extra defenses that Merc PTs don't. Also, Pyros don't use "Flamethrower.". Thats for Advanced Prototype. Pyros use "Flame Burst." Get your facts straight. To the OP: Yeah, Pyro PTs are better than Merc PTs. The only benefit they have is that they can heal themselves (but PTs have taunts.)
  3. Basically what this guy said ( for Pyro). Everything past lvl 27 is just icing on the cake. Not sure about AP or ST, but you're pretty dang effective right from the get-go.
  4. LOL. I guess when you compare any class to Mercs there isn't any room for complaints. . You are right about IM being your standard opener. I (personally) don't want to use IM when I am high on heat, and if the target isn't burning the sensible thing to do is A, use FB, or B, use Rapid Shots or Unload to get the target burning.
  5. While true, Rapid Shots and Unload only have a 16% chance to proc CGC, where FB has a 100% chance to proc CGC.
  6. I know I should RS first but I can't RS unless the target is burning. The target isn't burning unless I use IM or FB, and FB would probably give me the PPA proc, even when RS is not on cooldown. I know you understood what I was saying, just posted this so anyone that doesn't understand now does.
  7. While true, I was mostly talking about when you want to burst down a target, Rapid Shots isnt exactly very "bursty." I still use it in PvP though, to a minor extent.
  8. I agree 100% about Bioware staying away from this class. I don't want PTs to be the next Op or Sorc.
  9. This is true. Never really thought about it like that though... But still, to get the target burning the easiest thing to do is use FB or IM but IM is very heat intensive. I was mostly talking about PVP when you don't want to use Rapid Shots a whole lot. PvE is something else entirely *edited* Actually, RS only costs 8 heat when the target is burning.
  10. I never said anything was wrong with Pyro. I just think that bugs (if this IS a bug) should be fixed. But when PPA procs when RS Is not on cooldown you cant chain back to back RS. It just irritates me. Heck, this may even be how Bioware intended it to be. I don't know.
  11. So, does anyone know when/if Bioware is going to fix PPA proccing even when RS isn't on cooldown?
  12. I'm assuming you're trying to kill a tank-healer combo. You're trying to defeat 2 people by yourself. It takes a team to foil a team. Get another DPS to help you. If you are indeed a VG and cannot kill a single healer (unless it's an op) well , I really hate to say this, but L2P. VG/PT have the BEST burst in the game. Healers can't heal through burst.
  13. This http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501bIbRrRdfsZRMr.1 is what I'm running with. I'm debating about taking one point out of Mind Sear to put into Close Quarters for the 0-meter Force Leap. Some advice on that would be great. Also, how good is Dual Wield Mastery? Is it really worth the extra two points? I would have to take 2 out of Jedi Crusader, which really helps with Focus Management.
  14. A better comparison would be MS and a Strike vs. 2 Slashes.
  15. Since most combat takes place at the 3-4 meter range, I find it easy to just take one step back and use Force Leap. Thats a pretty interesting spec there. I would SERIOUSLY suggest putting two points into force fade (100% damage reduction is awesome). Yes, I do PVP a lot.
