  1. What's with the paranoia there, bucko?

You a Sorc that's had immunities?

    Good Lord you're obtuse.

If the issue was actually about a player exploiting, the class of said player has absolutely nothing to do with the situation. Thus, you banging on about sorc this and sorc that is rather contradictory to the point of your post.

Therefore, people have drawn what appears to be the natural conclusion - you're whining about sorcs, and we've heard it all before.

  2. Conversely, if you'd like a new model for your saber, there are 2 options I'm aware of at the higher end of that level range.

Tatooine: Complete full Tatooine Bonus Series, reward is a saber (Level 28)

Taris: Commendation Vendor sells sabers (Level 36)

  3. However with all the clain stunning is so annoying! so what i believe most classes need is a way to escape the holds (kind of like a PvP stun escape power which can ONLY be used in PvP). And getting rid of the force field in the team rooms

I agree, I really wish I had a button I could press to remove stuns and other CC. That would be the best button ever!

  4. You should receive points for each score and a medal for scoring plus a medal for a hat trick.

I'd be very wary of adding this. It would likely discourage team play as people are attempting to score for medals instead of passing to a better-positioned teammate

  5. The longer I play the game, the more the answer is Xalek. Even though I am a Sorc, all the spare tokens I get are converted into tier gear for him and his HP just keeps creeping up and up and up.

This. Even with Xalek's bugged Shield/Absorbtion stats he reaches a point that he's better than Khem, since you can outfit him in your old pvp/tier gear.

  6. Hey it costs 30 force! We wont mention that 1% of 600 is 6 and its channeled for 6 seconds making an uninterrupted cast give you 6 more force than it used while not counting the 6 seconds of regular force regen that happens as well

Sure sounds like you know what you're talking about.

Maybe I missed the trainer when he gave me a 6 second channel on Force Lighting, because mine's only 3.

The ACTUAL math is that Force Lightning COSTS 6 force not including natural regen. A full force lightning channel is 4 ticks (once on application, once per second thereafter), thus returning 24 force at an initial cost of 30.

  7. In addition, trading in Warzone Commendations is the only way to get Mercenary Commendations

This is untrue. Mercenary commendations can be acquired from chests in the Outlaw's Den on Tatooine (free-for-all PvP zone) at a rate of 80 per 2 hours - four chests, each containing 20 comms, on 2-hour independent timers.

While it is not particularly efficient to only farm these chests, it becomes the most efficient method of bag farming if you park yourself in the Den, and drive quick circuits while you're waiting for your next match queue to pop.

  8. Buying extra pieces and ripping the mods/enhancements out to replace poorly itemized mods/enhancements in your other pieces is also a very common use for extra comms.
  9. I don't see a problem with it but just so you know, there is a cooldown time for resetting phases.

So while you can reset farm, you will have to be in there farming for around 10 minutes before the cooldown allows you to reset again.

Ah yes, forgot to mention this.

From what I can tell, it appears to be the same resetting timer used by WoW. 5 resets per hour seems to be the limit.

I specifically was using a heroic instance on Belsavis to test, reset approximately every 6 minutes, and was unable to for a further half hour after my 5th reset. I haven't had a chance to run tests over multiple hours, so I can't confirm 100% percent, but I believe this is the case.

  10. From a rules standpoint, I don't see why it would not be allowed, and I have seen no indication that it is forbidden.

From a technical standpoint, yes this is quite possible. For an instanced heroic where the completion criterion is kill credits, you can kill up until you've just about completed the quest, then leave the instance. You have to both reset the quest in your log, and also right click on your player portrait, under Group >> Reset Instances.

For a heroic with a loot objective, avoid looting the quest item(s) and follow the same procedure (Leave instance, right click self >> Group >> Reset Instances)

DO NOT complete all objectives and then leave before trying to reset, as I have had issues with it not letting you back into the instance even after you reset the quest in your log.

  11. Secondly to all the people saying that many medals is impossible, no it is not, in theory a assasin/the mirror can get ALL medals(18), i have never seen this happen irl, but i have seen a screenshot of a dude with 17 medals.

Theoretically this might have been true before they fixed Pure Shockfrozen Water, but it certainly is not true anymore. An assassin/shadow can receive a maximum of 14 medals, as they no longer have access to healer medals.

  12. I got a simple question...don't know if this has been answered or not because I have been busy playing the game. Can PVP gear fit your companions if they wear that type of gear?

for instance, say your a trooper, wearing heavy armored PVP gear and your companion can wear heavy armor also....can that companion wear that same heavy armored PVP gear that you are wearing?

One thing to remember for gearing your companion. You can use commendations to buy any gear you want for your companions, but unassembled gear tokens can only be used if your companion is the same archetype, because the unassembled tokens are locked to an archetype (ie. when I receive an unassembled champion piece, it can only be used by Sith Inquisitor/Jedi Consular, thus I can only use that token to get gear for my Inquisitor companion)

  13. BTW, off topic: Is there ANY other way to get merc comms other than that silly 3 to 1 exchange? I've been reading these forums and haven't been able to find a clear answer. Sometimes they can be found in chests, sometimes not, etc...

Outlaw's Den on Tatooine (the free-for-all PvP zone).

4 chests spawn on a 2-hour independent timer. Each contains 20 Merc commendations and a few thousand credits. A chest will spawn in a random location in the zone 2 hours after it was last looted.

If you keep all four locked down you can get 80 Merc commendations every 2 hours, but you will sometimes have to fight other people who are looking for the same chests.

If you want more detailed info feel free to send me a PM

  14. The channeled spell takes for example 3 sec...let just run it for 1.5 sec and you can stop the animation and instead cast an instant ability. You dont need to wait for the whole duration. In other words there is no GCD between both spells.

Yes, but if you cancel that 3 second channel after 0.5 seconds, you will have to wait 1 second before casting anything else, because the GCD starts when you START casting an ability/channel.

If you channel it as long or longer than the GCD, then there will be no cooldown. It's almost like it's logic or something.

Bah, I really shouldn't feed the troll.

  15. I have found that the "Stat Bolstering" is VERY finnicky at lower levels.

As a level 45 I had a level 10 crit me for 3000 damage. It was mind boggling.

And I had level appropriate gear so none of that please.

Also I'm not a TERRIBLE player, but I can get lazy ;)

From what I understand, the bolstering is designed to be slightly more powerful the lower level you are, as this helps to offset not having actual talents/trained skills that a higher level would have access to

@OP: Reading between the lines in your story, it sounds like you leveled between the two WZs you did, as you had gotten level 10 with the lightsabre, and then put a level 11 hilt in it after your first WZ. Is this correct? If so, it could be accounted for by my paragraph above.

  16. The only issue I see with Resolve is that the bar isn't long enough. It should be a bar out of ~2000 max, with a visible line at 1000. It's nearly impossible to get someone's Resolve over 2000 anyway (technically, up to 2199 is possible, but capping it at 2000 wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing). The current setup is confusing, as the bar caps even before the target goes immune, so it's possible to see a full bar on a target that isn't CC-immune.

And even that, while I agree with you, is still a fairly minor issue. The bar being full at 800 is still easily distinguishable from when it actually turns white at 1000. I do agree that the resolve bar should show past 1000, but it certainly isn't game-breaking.

Once again Daellia, thanks for your informative post, I appreciate you helping to clear up some of the misinformation floating around here.

  17. It is likely legitimate, I've received these for both of my wow accounts after they were inactive for 6 months+ and used the free week to catch up and shoot the breeze with some of my old raiding buddies.

Basically they're just giving you a free week to try and get you sucked back in, didn't work on me.

  18. To me, a casual player is anyone who will not commit to a set Operations schedule. Once you make a commitment to show up on a schedule and maintain an attendance rate above an agreed upon percentage, you've crossed the line from playing for fun when you feel like it to being obligated to play, regardless of whether you want to or not.

That's the dividing factor for me in trinity MMO's.

    This right here.

I started defining myself as a casual after I quit my last raiding guild in WoW. It has nothing to do with the amount I play, as I can still put in 20+ hours in a week, but it's what *I* want to be doing, when *I* want to do it.

I still min/max my character to the extent available to me, I still theorycraft the best specs/gear combos. I'll even still raid sometimes, if I happen to see a pug starting when I'm hanging around the fleet, but I no longer plan my real life schedule around my raiding schedule, nor am I letting anyone down if I don't feel like logging in for a day or two

  19. Seems fair to me. Do you know accurately what the MVP votes give the person? Such as more valor, xp, etc?

    Definitive answer:

1 MVP vote gives you 1 Warzone Commendation and 50 Valor

    Its not :)

You can see the change in rewards when you are voted MVP (your reward numbers change on top of the scoreboard).

    1 MVP vote = 1 medal = 50 valor and 5 commendations

This is incorrect, you receive 1 commendation, not 5
