  1. Three more times tonight I was kicked out of the game, or had my latency drop down to nothing for a few seconds, and of course during a fight in a heroic area. My wife is playing WoW at the same time and having no problems, so it NOT MY internet, it is the SWTOR servers. FIX THEM, get it together. I'm ranting here because the error message that pops up when you get kicked out says if this keeps happening to go to swtor.com/support. So here I am. If you would like to move ALL my characters AND ALL MY FAMILIES characters to a lighter load PVE server, then fine. I am NOT spending my own cartel coins on that move, just because your serves are total crap.
  2. Oh yea, almost forgot. After getting kicked out of the FP the second time, I decided to just forget it and move on. So I log out, and back in, which resets the FP and puts me outside of it. I start walking and then get kicked out to the server selection screen. At which point I am unable to get back in, being told the servers are unavailable. And no it is not my Internet connection, as I immediately browsed to this site and posted this in much frustration.
  3. I'm really getting tired of getting kicked out of the game because the server load is high. In the past two days I tried running Esseles to get the speeder for my character. First time, I got kicked out, about 1/3 of the way through. When I got back into the game, I was tuck in the FP. Nothing left around me to click on, could not use fleet pass or anything. I was stuck! I had to log out of the character. Today I tried the FP again, and right at the end talking to the captain and bam, kicked out again. I quickly get back, but once again, nothing left in there, including no console to click on. So I ran the entire FP, but I do not get credit for running it and no reward. Last weekend my family and I tried to play three new characters together as a team. One of us was constantly getting kicked out of the game. I realize we were in the starter zone, of Tython, so very popular. But when people can't play new characters, what is the point? We went over to Sith side to try new characters there, and that was fine, no issues. But we really didn't want to play Sith side together. I just got back to the game, excited for the new KoTFE content and expansion. I applaud the developers for coming up with that. But they should have realized it was going to bring a lot of new players. Especailly with the new movie out, getting a lot of old palyers the SW bug again and coming back to the game. Launch another PVE server please, and respond to your new player surge that I'm sure you hoped for. Now take it and run with it, before players like me decide to say scew this game again, because they don't maintain the hardware.
  4. Yea thanks. Some guildies helped me out, told me to drop the FP quest and just keep the daily. it worked.
  5. This may sound dumb, but hey, I can't figure it out. I click on the icon I see the options for FP and for Planetary locations. Although I have no idea what the planetary locations section is for, I care about the FP. I had grabbed the BT quest clicked the icon for group finder, selected FP button and hit 'join qu'. Great it worked got a group a while later. Now I'm 16, I picked up Hammer Station from the currier, and then tried the group finder. I can't select the button for FP. I click the button to see the list of all FP and they are all greyed out, including Hammer. I reset the quest, I abandoned and got it again, all with the same results. So essentially, I'm not able to join a que for a FP I infact have the quest for and am even of level for. Am I missing something here on how to use the group finder? Or is this a bug?
  6. I know right, silly me thought that was a no brainer and expected that to be an option in the group finder.
  7. So vigilance is the more damage tree and focus is more like utility? Thanks for the build link it actually looks fun. Does of do well in solo pve play?
  8. I don't want to make a tank as I already have one. For the RP idea of this char. the guardian fits much better than sentinal. This guy is going to be mostly solo play through story, and some pvp to supplement the xp and gear. So I wanted to know if there was a good none tanking spec for the guardian. Don't need to be a beast or anything, but playable. Thanks
  9. Wow, really, they took out all rewards for loosing in pvp? I guess I missed that in the patch notes. That kind of pisses me off too, for much the same reason. I have characters I play solo, when my wife isn't available to play with me, and that's about all I do, pvp. I do the warzones and my class quests, and that's it. It's fun, it's diverse and I leveled up decently well. Now what am I supposed to do with these characters? Sure there are the planet quests, but that's not much fun solo, and frankly not always possible solo. I agree with the statement, this is a game, meant to be fun. BW has always been a big proponent of that attitude. But spending time playing and not gaining anything for it at all, is not fun. I wno't even get into the factor that loosing in warzones, isn't even dependent on you alone.
  10. Yea, it's a great game in general, and I give them huge kudos for the famous BW, story arc and choice wheel. The class stories are awesome! That said, some of the basic little things that make a game session really fun, that have been already, should have been in the game. Crafint is not really needed. I'm not a big crafter mind you, but I enjoy choosing a craft that gears my toon. I found I don't need too, because of quests and the occasional FP drop stuff, and using commendations to buy mods to level it up. meh. Fun but it's too easy. No drive really to try and get the better stuff. I already have it. And I'm a casual player. No day night cycle is kinda lame. Not needed for content I realize, but still, a realistic factor, and should be soooo small to code. Interactive world items like chairs and stuff. I mean really, we go into a cantina and we can't sit down? Lame. The cantina should be the central hub of social interaction and gathering, but it's not, fleet is. And not even the cantina on fleet. The worlds are a little sparce, not all but some seem so. My highest is only 32 so have not seen all the worlds. But my biggest dissapointment was Nar Shadaa. I mean in all the cannon, books everything, it's a huge, busy bussling place, that is crowded. It sooo does NOT have that feel to it. It feels dead, And there isn't even a cantina on the planet? Really? Cansino central, and no "cantina" content. I'm hoping the first year will bring about all the basic stuff that other MMOs have been doing for a while now. Now I realize, they didn't all have this stuff at their launch, especially not even WoW. But they have a for awhile now, and it should be good.
  11. I have only done FP with guild who are friends. But in veneer I start off marking what I cc'd and I plan to start working on. Once the group has jelled and we have a rythum, I don't bother. I just start the fight hitting the strongest Target and let the group do their thing. On boss fights I communicate, give out jobs, "you cc this, you grab the teas/adds and you are back up heal. And I use the group markers mentioned. I have the targetting device but its hard to see sometimes.
  12. Ah ok I get it now. Well that's still kind of cool, giving Maxwell out toons more options for content. Thanks
  13. So I've read stuff about setting FP difficulty, and not familiar with that. Is that something all of them can do or just the high level FP? I would enjoy doing some lower end FP that I missed because I leveled so fast before trying them. But they would be much more enjoyable if they were a challenge.
  14. Ah I see, so it's not a fully implimented system. Too bad, but I guess that leaves something to look forward to? Hah
  15. So of course I can't search the forums to try and find if this has been talked, because I'm sure it has. So please bare with me. What exactly is the legacy system all about? I understand the legacy tracker progresses, as you advance further in your class story line. I'm not there yet, but I know you get to choose a last name at some point in your story. But what does the legacy do for you? Is there a game mechanic for it, do you get some advantage to it, access to certain gear, or zones or something, based on legacy? Or is it purely just for your own gratification and tracking? Thanks
  16. Yea I think you are right on this. Only because I am seeing A LOT of nodes sitting there, that have a yellow arrow for my mouse, but can't interact with. And a couple of times, I started to walk away from a node I was harvesting, and stopped when I didn't see the text of what I got. I turned around and went back to the node, clicked it, and sure enough it was not "looted" yet. They need a timer on these, or even better, just make them lootable by anyone with the appropriate skill. That way there are no waisted resources on the planet. Because of this problem, I was unable to harvest much slicing while on Corosant. Now I hit Taris, and I'm too low level with my slicing to harvest there. Greeaaat! From one bug of crafting to the next. I'm thinking crafting is just not worth the time and effort yet.
  17. Yea I understood about the types, basically armor for none force users, and amor for force users. And I will specifically try to RE something that force user stats, on my synthweaver, but I have yet to see anything in my inventory that I could RE, that was not crafted by me.
  18. So on my Empire character I have synth up to about 120 or so. It sucks, I have never made anything that is actually useful to me, ie better than loot or rewards. Which is the main reason I pick up crafting in games. I'm now playing a Rep character and picked up armortech. Right off the bat, I can make some gear that is slightly better than what I already wearing. Sweet. Not only that, but I was able to RE stuff that I had looted or gotten as rewards. That is a nice feature, but I have never had that ability on synthweaving, to RE stuff I didn't make. So what's up with that? I really think there is a balance issue here, and it's kind of annoying.
  19. It you go back into the station, the elevator at the top of the map takes you to where you can get it again. At least that's where it is on Empire side.
  20. I'm doing synthweaving, and on the GTN, most of the schematics I see on there, have Republic class specific requirments. What gives? I suppose I can get those, make the item, go to the Nar Shadda GTN and try to sell, but what a pain. I got crafting to make gear for myself and guild mates, not the other faction, for the sake of making money. I didn't think the crafting in this game was going to be so restricted. And why is that so many of the schematics I see on an Empire planet, are for Republic classes? It's kind of frustrating really. Amy I missing something?
  21. Sorry if this all been addressed. I read the pathetic patch notes in the morning that was like 1 paragraph. Been working all day and haven't even gone in game yet. Guess I better check out what it says, and hope it's more then just "nerf slicing".
  22. Read my recent post on the problem with synthweaving, and the same problems exist for artiface, but a little less so, only because artiface uses multiple crystal types. But basically archeology is broken all to hell right now, and it's killing those two crafting skills. Currently out of the two, I would recommend artiface. You loot, or can buy, or get as rewards, orange modable gear. That's great, and can be modified continually as you level, from what I can tell. But you need to have mods appropriate for you level, to keep them up with you. So go that route.
  23. I started a SW and grabbed synthweaving, archeology and treasure hunting, soon as I got on the station. Gathering crystals is very, very slow. Why? Because half the nodes out there don't work, which means I have to send my companion out for misisons. Which takes time and costs me money. Second part of the problem is that only about 1 in 6 crystals I harvest or get from missions, are used in crafting synthweave. That's rediculous!! I'm a level 23 character that has been trying to keep up with crafting as best I can but I can't. It costs me too money to keep sending out my comp. for missions to get resources, that I should be finding on my own. And I just don't get enough resources to craft fast enough to keep up with my level. I thought that's just how it was or I was doing something wrong. Well other than the broken crystal nodes on the ground. By the end of a play session, I had maybe enough materials to make 5-6 items. But then I played another character, and grabbed cybertech, scavenging and slicing. After a play session with that character and running around the same planet, Dromund Kaas, I had enough materials to craft 15-20 items. The really messed up thing is, I harvested most of those resources on my travels. It hardly cost me any money, and my crafting is on par with my level. At the end of a play session I can crank out those 15-20 items, RE some and sell some on the GTN for some extra cash. Great! That is so not what happens with my archeology and synthweaving, and it's almost to the point where I'm going to just drop it and forget it. I really enjoy making gear for me and my guild mates, but nothing I can make is high enough for anyone anymore, and this only after one week of playing. I'm spending gobs amounts of cash sending my companions on missions just to get stuff I should be gathering on my own. So this is crazy unbalanced and going to break the crew skills system here and mess up the economy over time. They need to add about 20% more crystal nodes to the worlds, and for Force sake, fix them so they all actually work! I only came acorss 2 scavenging nodes that didn't work, after 2 full nights of playing that characters.
  24. All good tips I ended using in Hammer. If there was no elite I hit a strong and the group just do their thing, and stuff went down fast. If more than one elite I had the sorcerer we one. I had the mercy handle the adds and keep them off of the heal. Being ranged the have an easier time doing that. I did the trick of taunt one and damage other, but I'm not sure how much threat taunt generates on its own. I ended up fishing out damage to both back and forth, and taunting the one the group was burning down, only when it turned off of me.
  25. Ah ok thanks guys, I'll look and see if that's the issue.
