Found the problem

Thanks to my terrible hotel lobby connection, I have been able to identify at least part of what seems to be the problem. While playing late last night with my friends, I missed the queue pop because I was alt tabbed. Normally not a big deal, but my friends started complaining in mumble that they had played the entire first round with 7. I then noticed that my pvp icon was still glowing and when looking closer found it said I was still in queue with my friends currently in the match. Guess what, I clicked the icon, left the queue, and within a minute there was an 8th in the warzone. PUGs got ammunition now: premades ARE ruining regular warzones lmao

So it's been a year since launch, and I'm curious to hear some other stories. We've gone through Ilum, server transfers, new ops and warzones, and now on to F2P! What has your experience in the game been like? Favorite memory? Least favorite? For me it's been a little rough, seeing the guild that picked me up after launch fall apart, yet I have been lucky to have guildmates who still are around and playing, even one who I met in my first weeks of play and PvP'd with for a year now! My least favorite memory is most definitely the day before 1.2, I still remember the disappointment I heard from all of my guild when we were updated that no Ranked Warzones would be in. With their arrival in 1.3, I was on a new server and my guild had been gone for weeks thanks to a de-populated server. It just wasn't the same I don't feel bitter, but I still remember the sting of that particular disappointment. My favorite memory is a lot harder to pick from, because there have been many shining moments for me. I think I'll go with an old one, my first "Zerg" on Ilum. Us Reps from The Crucible Pits (Represent!) pushed Dara Mactire and the Imp Zerg from mid all the way to their base. Having just hit 50, this was quite amazing to witness (at 2-5 frames per second). And, of course, the following 20 minutes of /say banter and angry threats going around between two very large guilds. Ah I miss Ilum I would really like to hear other stories from the Community, how have y'all fared?

Aye, Kitru is absolutely right. I was simply generalizing in my statement, but if you'll look above you will notice I mention all melee attacks. Generally you will want to shoot to use Double Strike more than Saber Strike, however as you become experienced you will want to start occasionally using a Saber Strike to attempt to proc mind crush since it has roughly a 12% higher chance to proc the buff (it hits three times, double strike only hits twice, thus 3 chances to proc the buff.) This is an advanced force management technique however and only to be used when in no danger of force-capping, so you might want to learn yourself up the basics first now that you've got the general idea down. Haha yeah, most people still use Combat technique for the 23/1/17. Whatever Technique you run depends solely on the make-up of your build. You'll notice those 17 points we all grab in the Balance tree do not require you to be in Force tech., which is really why we do it so that we can have all the extra tanky goodness. But yeah, you are right that there are plenty of hybrids around with all sorts of crazy pre-requisites. I like the infi-balance hybrid where you run infiltration tech but only up in that tree 13 points, and go full on 28 points in balance. Pretty crazy we can do that effectively

No worries, your questions make perfect sense You are absolutely correct in that Force Tech. gives you the insta-MCs. The general rule of thumb for the three trees is Kinetic Combat uses Combat tech, infiltration uses their infil tech, and balance uses Force Technique. If you have been running as combat tech, then you wouldn't have seen it yet In Force Tech, Force Breach applies a damage over time effect instead of an area effect. When that DoT is active on a mob, and you hit it with a melee attack, your melee attack will have a 60% chance to trigger the proc for MC. I can't remember the image off the top of my head, but it'll be purple on your buff bar. So you have to: Use Force Tech Apply Force Breach Hit the mob with Double Strike And then the proc can happen! In regards to your last question, absolutely!! More realistically though, it would help me a bunch if you could show me your exact spec using torhead or something so I can provide you with better info. If you are high into the balance tree, it would not be beneficial at 50 to still run Combat Tech, although while leveling the extra survivability sure helps. The reason it doesn't necessarily help you is that: There are several skills whose effectiveness is limited while out of Force Tech. You no longer have your most important dot in Force Breach, and you lose the ability to proc your hardest hitting dot. At level 50 those two alone would cost you almost 300 dps. Or: A lot While combat tech increases your armor rating, you'll notice it also REDUCES damage by 5%, which is nothing to scoff at. In addition, it increases your threat generation by as much, meaning you are not going to be group-friendly unless you are the actual tank. Honestly, at your current level it all comes down to personal choice! If you like the extra living from combat tech, keep rolling with it and you'll be fine until you hit the end game. However if you want to make sure you are getting good practice for what balance will be like at level 50, go ahead and post your spec for me so we can look at it in better detail. Hope that helps!
