  1. You guys are playing the wrong game. Thry Call of Duty or Candy Crush those don't involve leveling. God forbid you have to actually level in an MMO! Leveling right now is a cake walk and you're talking about making into an 8 hour romp which just asinine and WILL ruin the game. Right now it only take a week or two to level to 60 with the current system. Low level content is dead as it is. So quit asking for a free pass to 60. Bio made a huge mistake with 12x and I hope they never repeat it.

You are the minority. A raving mad minority, which narrows you down even more.

"Change BAAAD. Me want same sunny day, no want wind, same temperature, nighttime never, every day forever and ever because it feel good and if it not broke no fix it because me feel confortable and cozy and god forbid me have to adapt."

Yeah. Give me options any day, and gate those options by whatever minimum prerequisite makes sense.

  2. I agree as well, just suprised more people havent started complaining yet.

It's a decent Pve Update. Not much more than 2.3 and 2.4 (Czerka & Oricon) combined with some more cutscenes.

And thats pretty much it. Disicplines maybe great for the Devs but it doesnt offer the player all that much. Crafting is nothing new, just new stuff and 50 points to level.

PvP, GSF, GSH, heroics, companions, races, game mechanis - nothing at all.

And have you looked at the lvl 60 Group Finder? Level 60 killed so much content for casuals...

    With 2.0 we got

Makeb (Rishi and Yavin offer way less quests),

Macro & Sekker mechanics with awesome quests (The Shroud thing is the best quest in the game imo)

Scum and Villainy (which had just 7 bosses but they bumped Asation with an additional 5)

    4 HM Flashpoints

    Achievment System

numerous daily/weekly reward quests for group content

class changes with actual new abilities (no replacements) for everyone

    new commendation system

    training dummies

new gear sets, new crafting stuff

and for all of that i paid 9.99.

SoR cost us twice that and had less content.

Huh... Man... reading this list of comparisons, I can't help but be dumbfounded at the sheer audacity of this new expac.

I mean, I don't wanna sound like a revolutionary or anything but, honestly, the eye-opening truth in this post is outright blinding... We should all point to it, imho.

By truth I mean it really puts the two expacs side by side and, well, there's just no comparison. We've kinda sorta been had.

But hey, dem's some nice planet graphics fer shurrr!

  3. I main a Dirty Fighting Scoundrel. As I watched the Smuggler's disciplines stream, it felt "wrong" that scoundrels were the ones who had the Dirty Fighting namechange.

I feel Dirty Fighting sounds more "scoundrel-y", as Dirty Fighting, in my view, implies closer-quarters wrangling (albeit not necessarily "melee"), while Ruffian just sounds more well suited to a dual-pistol bandido type.

Also, "Ruffian Scoundrel" just sounds awkward, not to mention redudant, and "Dirty Fighting Scoundrel" just rolls smoothly off the tongue :p ). It sounds coherent.

And "Ruffian Gunslinger" (or better yet, Gunslinger Ruffian) sounds just fine.

Sure, this is a minor thing, but if you feel like me, sign up! Make yerselves heard! All's they'd hafta do is just change the discipline name anyway, which I would hope is an extremely trivial thing to do, so, maybe, if you feel like me, we can convince 'em to switch it up!

    (yeah right)

  4. There are 2 design decisions (unimportant in the grand scheme of things) of which the reasoning behind I just don't see.

So maybe I'm missing something. I mean, there *is* a reason, I just can't figure out the why.

1- Is there a specific, practical reason the missions log is capped to 25 missions? Is it a programming issue? Is it so in some way it prolongs our grind? What am I not seeing here? I've been here since practically launch but I've never understood this.

2- The new "double-tap" Missile Blast/Grenadesamathings. Is it meant to be more fun? Is it supposed to be a visual enhancement? (I think it looks, and feels, dumb and clunky) Is it so that people clearly understood, or maybe so they wouldn't complain about, that they tweaked it to do more damage but with more heat? I dunno, it's a really minor thing, but I liked Missile Blast as a single missile. Seemed more "elegant" that way. To me, at least.

    Enlighten me! :rak_02:

  5. There's been a couple of threads on this topic before, and one of them ran pretty deep.

The major complaint was: "No! You can't re-do all of your choices!"

The solution to that is simple: Allow you to make whatever choices you want to make, even if they differ from the ones you originally made but just don't alter any stats from your original playthrough. Think of it as though you're a tourist. After all, it's your story, and your re-telling of it, and this would not have any affect whatsoever on other players...

All this of course if the one sole purpose is to be able to see your class storyline again. And only for that purpose. No rewards, nothing, except the experience itself.

  6. As obnoxious and arrogant as OP is (which makes ya just wanna automatically disagree with all his/her points), I gotta say this idea is very enticing, for a variety of reasons.

One, for example, is that if you're getting the same gear with WZ comms that you'd get with other comms, it would do away with the hassle of multiple gear sets. Of course, the WZ comms path should be "longer" (more comms required to buy gear). I know this might just be me, but I just hate lugging around a whole other set and the switching of it and stuff... It's just annoying. It's not a big deal, really, but it does annoy me.

Another reason this could be a good thing is just simply for a more "streamlined" system. Expertise has it's place (in the current system) but it's just kinda "too convoluted". It really does feel like a "jury rigged" system to fix balance issues (whether this problem comes from WoW isn't relevant).

And yet another benefit I can think of off the top o' my head would be more "fluid" open world PvP situations, where PvErs forced into PvP wouldn't necessarily get their derriéres handed to them for not wearing "proper PvP gear"...

All that said, in the end, all this would do for me (I can only speak for myself) would basically be: "less annoyance/more streamlining" I think...

  7. I'm all for an option to re-do class storyline. But mixing that up with "endgame progression" is just not a good idea.

As someone said above, simply re-doing your storyline should be enough incentive, and I've read many posts expressing interest in that, and only that.

Re-doing storyline, if implemented, should not have any impact on anything whatsoever. It should just be a superficial romp through the storyline just to be able to once again enjoy the story, in a coherent, back to back manner, that ideally would make the story shine as it wouldn't be buried in a dozen side quests.

So +1 to re-doing class storyline, -1 to having it "scaled" and dropping ops or even HM FP gear.

  8. No, your full OP post doesn't justify it, that's all. It simply isn't a good idea.

It wasn't my idea. I saw it mentioned on another thread/s where I saw plenty of interest in it, thought it might have some benefits to veterans, and made a voting thread about it. Clearly this inspires staunch negatives and I see almost none of those who seemed to be interested. So, that's it. End of story, end of thread, far as I'm concerned.

For those that thought/think I have a vested interest (Glowrod: "If you don't like the game cancel your subscription"): This wasn't about me. I didn't even vote for or against. I am surprised at how intese the negatives are. I just don't see the big deal if such a thing were implemented. I just don't. The "you'd have newb 50s with lowbie gear running around queing for HMs ruining everything for everyone" is just an asinine stance. For starters, fresh 50s get the "welfare" gear (Tionese/Recruit) which is good enough for any HMs except LI. And the "skill" to play your class... well, I agree that there could be people that don't know their class queing for HMs, but I have a bit more faith in that either player's already know how the mechanics work or if they don't, they would be intimidated from queing in HMs until they've learned their class via dailies, for example...

All that said... just let this thread die, please.

  9. Many of you are clearly not reading the full OP, or if you are, you're not getting the part where you'd have to have Legacy Level 50 as a minimum requirement, which usually (but not always) means you're already done the whole "levelling" bit enough times on a few alts where now you're just mindlessly grinding and not really "enjoying" it. Of course this is only the case for some people, not all.

Anyway, the negatives have apparently won, so let this thread die now...

  10. First off: Against.

Then to your post... Why is everyone, who doesn't agree with your idea a "negative nellie" ? If you do not like to get answers, do not ask questions.

I personally am pretty close to legacy 50, and I would never want to use such a "boom, lvl 50"... then again, I also would not want to play in a group with someone, who is the designated tank of the group, but did not even have that char 30 minutes earlier.

If you want a char with a different mechanic, then level it from the start and learn how it works. The whole leveling field is a way to get to know your character and to know, what you can do and what you should not do.

Hey, I was just kiddin'. I was just surprised (and amused) at how quickly a flurry of "against"s appeared, being that I actually made this thread based on comments from people on another thread (don't remember which one) that were actually asking for this.

Remember, I haven't voted for or against. This is just an experiment to see what's up with the concept....

Apparently, it's despised more than fried turds! :rak_02:

  11. No, it's just that your idea is so bad that it's laughable. Why don't you just add a God mode while you're at it...

I mean, aquiring a legacy level of 50 comes after much, much, MUCH, playtime, and most likely after leveling 2 or 3 other alts (or more). Maybe It's "god mode", but so what? It's just for content you experience exclusively on your own and that you've already done 2 to 5 times (planet quests/flashpoints/space missions).

This is aimed mostly at veteran players who can skip the levelling part they've done many times already. Consider there are some players (myself included) that will only make an alt just to experience the class story, and nothing else, so, having to grind planetary quests/space missions/flashpoints is mind-meltingly boring. Then there are those who don't have time to play 18hrs/day (like SirCopperfield ;) )

I know I saw many others pining for this on other threads... I wonder if people read all of the OP instead of just replying to the thread title...

  12. Hahah, wow, it seems the "negative nellies" are the most prominent in the forums, eh? :p

It's strange but I'm pretty sure players in favor of something like this were plentiful... Still, we'll see.

Keep in mind the requirements. Specifically, Legacy level 50 means either you already have plenty of alts, or simply that you've been playing for a long time, so there's really not much that'd be "taken away"...

Anyway, edited OP for clarity. Will do tallys if this takes off. Won't if not.

  13. Would you like for there to be a Legacy option to skip to level 50 instantly?

The minimum requirements for access to this option would be:

    • You must be Legacy Level 50.

    • You must have chosen your Advanced Class.

    • Must be a subscriber.

Vote for or against this here for all to see what the general concensus is.

NOTE: As OP I will not vote either way, as I am not invested one way or the other. I do have an opinion, but ultimately whether the matter in question would be implemented or not isn't really my concern. This thread was done out of curiosity, having seen a few posts expressing interest in an option of this nature and thinking it might be a boon for altoholic veterans who've done the grind enough times that it just becomes a repetitive routine...

  14. The Makeb expansion is new story.

This is true. But at the same (or near same) time they are adding 5 new levels and new gear, etc, in the form of the "2.0 patch" on the side...

What I'm suggesting is pure-story with no thought given to extra levels or anything to complement it. I'm saying "pure-story expansions" and nothing else...

  15. Sidestepping your ridiculous interpersonal debate, I think you're not considering the part where Re-customization in any form would cost players something, be it a ton of credits or CCs. That's where the restrictions for people modifying their appearance every week would make more sense. That's the logical "gate" I'd imagine BW would go for. Your "3 tokens" idea isn't crazy, but it's too... "specific".

TL;DR: It just makes more sense to charge heavily (either in in-game credits or CCs) for full (or even partial) Re-customization that would send you to something akin to the Character Creation Screen, than to implement a new system...

  16. I started a thread about this same thing, before I found this one.

I support this idea, BUT i think there needs to be a large set of restrictions. Here is what I posted in the other thread:

    1. the account would need to be at legacy level 50 or higher.

    2. this would be a one time purchase per account.

    3. no quests would be complete. and no companions would be earned. (player would need to go back and do all of that if its wanted)

    4. new toon could be any class or race (that you have unlocked).

    5. would cost something like 2200 cc for premium, and 1100cc for subs (if not free even)

    6. you could even tie it into the coming legacy achievement system. Say you need 2500 ach points as well.

My reasoning for this idea is this, if you have a legacy that is at 50 or higher, its safe to assume you have already done the majority of the class stories. You have probably leveled multiple toons. This would be a reward for players who have invested a lot of time into the game. Personally, I dread leveling another toon even though i want more crafters or want to roll another commando and go heals only (so I dont have to constantly respec).

    Just a thought

Honestly to me, I enjoy the post 50 content more than the grind to 50. Mainly because I have done it 6 times. You can only do Taris or quesh so many times before you want to stab yourself in the eyeballs with a pen.

    IMO

This, I can get behind, being a level 50 legacy myself. I could really use the "straight to 50" for new toons.

May I suggest you post this on the Suggestions forum?
