  1. I like a few of the changes you made in yours, but the one I really don't like is the 2 points into Sedatives. I feel like as a class that would not be as reliant on stealth, that would not be key. And if you are not going to take the 5 decrease energy on backstab, you would be starved a lot so I feel the Endorphin Rush buff on Adrenalin Probe is needed. Likewise, if you have that decrease energy on backstab, you wouldn't be starved as often as well, but I still would feel like Sedatives is a wasted skill. I also feel like Tactical Opportunity is the main skill I was spec'ing to hit in Conceal, cause having that would make you always have a huge stack of TA for the damage/healing buff. Then again I guess its completely dependent on how you play the class and spec, so we all have different ideas. I do really like 1 point in Tox Screen a lot though, thanks. Put together this instead with your suggestions http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401rcfMzhRozZMIModzR.1 I may actually get back into PvP to see how it goes. Its nice to hear a spec similar to this being used. I'd definitely feel like they'd have a ton of utility in PvP, more aimed towards healing, but still adequate DPS.
  2. I don't really like OP's hybrid build for reasons stated above. Lethality and Conceal are both very different as well and having a hybrid between the two misses some key skills. Slightly related, but has anyone tried a Healing/DPS Hybrid build such as this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401rff0zhMozZMIModzRZ0z.1 I think a build like that would be really fun in PvP, as you can stack 3 TA's, do adequate healing to yourself and others (you still end up with the invincible surgical probe) and can probably output a fair amount of dmg as well. I'd love to see a spec like that go into use, and if I was still into PvP, I'd probably try it, but unfortunately Bioware made my Battlemaster gear from pre-1.2 **** (I ripped out the mods and stuff from the old ones) and now I've lost complete motivation to PvP cause of it.
  3. Sell Hyper-Battle stims. Normally will go for around 10-15k depending on server, and its pretty easy to get the matts imo. Same for Exotechs if you come across the schem. Exotech stims are the #1 cash flow for biochem imo. The Hyper-battle stims really aren't that great for money tho, maybe 3k profit or something each, but if you crit, you get 2, so thats doubled. Nonetheless, its nothing like Armstech or Synth or anything else, but the key point is the money you SAVE not having to buy stims for raids and PvP matches (which you should ALWAYS do if you're not Biochem). The other way to make cash is to crit Columi implants, but as you stated, you're not into raids and therefore have no schems. As a side note though, these normally crit once out of every 5 or so. The matts cost around 75k-100k depending on server I'd say and the critted implants sell for 750k-1M+ depending on server and augment. If un-critted, they still sell for around 150k-200k. These are really good cash, but Biochem money-making is tailored around PvE... sorry.
  4. Delayed response but: YOU'RE NUTS. CS is the #1 DPS cooldown I use as Conceal Spec. Using Cloaking Screen + Acid Blade then starting your DPS rotation (Hidden Strike, Shiv, Acid Blade + Backstab, etc...) is INSANE burst. With this in mind as well, it allows another acid blade to be applied in between backstabs. THIS IS MORE SUSTAINED DPS AS WELL. CS also dumps threat by 100% and allows you to pop another medpac during the fight. If you don't pop this everytime its off cooldown (with the exception of saving your burst for a specific moment, ie. Fabricator) you are doing it wrong! but.. This would never happen, ever. Why? Because in PvP we'd be even more unstoppable. Every single fight you'd be in, you'd either blow CS and murder the person (if I blow CS, theres no way I'm losing a 1v1) or simply purge, blow it and run away (in which case theres little chance im dying). Implement this and I can already hear the QQ's, hell, I'd QQ in PvP about it. EDIT: Your suggestion is absolute mint though, but the first part of your post is what everything above is tailored around. I know a lot of people have said the same thing about this as well. And also, there are frequent times where I will pop CS as a gap closer, because of the speed increase and knowing that my next hit will be big.
  5. The spec posted slightly above is the PvE viable one. Slip away and Jarring Strike are useless (I kept them in my spec for PvP though, probably going to remove) On a personal note, I think the points put in to raise your endurance is a waste, so I'd probably put that in Incisive Action so you can always start off every fight with a Stim Boost (as popping it up mid-fight can lose you dps when you really need it). From someone that runs HM Ops often with a PvE guild and is Concealment spec, don't go into Lethality. The dmg output in Lethality is even worse, conceal is already pretty low but Lethality needs a huge buff, til then it should be extinct. Also, take HUGE advantage of your Cloaking Screen. A lot of Ops don't use this which makes me cringe, not only will it allow you to start your whole rotation with a Hidden Strike, but it also completely dumps threat. It can be used to revive teammates as said above, but thas not priority, dump this whenever its off cool-down and do your full rotation followed by adrenalin probe. If you time this burst properly, your team will love you. I normally use countermeasures right at the end of the rotation as well, so that I make sure I don't pull aggro. The rotation I use mid-fight is: 1. Acid Blade + Cloaking Screen 2. Hidden Strike 3. Shiv (2TA) 4. If stim boost not active pop it + Acid blade + backstab 5. Corrosive Dart (if not already on, you should try to always keep this up on your target) 6. Lacerate (you should get TA back) 7. Cover -> Explosive probe 8. Depending on what is off CD, either Shiv/Lacerate. Try to always hit you Shiv's, Backstab's (with acid blade), Cloaking Screen (with acid blade), Corrosive Dart's all immediately off cool-down. Orbital takes quite a bit of time to lay down, so in a fight like against SOA, slap it down exactly where the top is going to fall on him, and wait until the tank gets him down, then blow your burst. My guildies absolutely love me for the SOA fight and Fabricator (FP). On a PvP note from a Battlemaster, I'd almost consider re-spec'ing to get Pin Down (like I said, endurance is not really needed imo). That root is probably what I use to save my ***/take any 1v1, its by far my favorite skill I've spec'd into for PvP. Get used to using it, normally I use it everytime its off cooldown. My favorite thing is when fighting a Marauder in 1v1 (which will absolutely mess you up faceroll style if you're not smart), root him when you see his rage high then Cover -> explosive probe, then either CS +Acid Blade -> Hidden Strike or Acid Blade+Backstab. Depending on your gear, this will do huge damage to him, especially considering everything stacks the moment you actually make contact with him. EP can crit for 3k+, Backstab and Hidden strike can now hit over 5k with adrenal and relic popped, and you put a 2k+ acid blade DoT on him. As soon as I do this, most marauders crumble and instant proc Undying Rage, in which case you simply Debilitate them and laugh. Hope that helps, sorry if I rambled a bit, I got carried away.
  6. It has been stated by Zoeller that there are more 'Mysteries' available at this time that have been in the game for awhile. Time to walk around more planets!!!! Good job on this one guys, and grats to Boisha. Really great work, I feel like we went way too in-depth tho. Especially since I think its more simplistic than the orobird is, at least after you get the Jerky,
  7. Saying "someone in this thread" would make it too narrow. "somewhere on the internet" keeps it vague for you skeptics. The reality is though, that this is the internet. Anyone can find anything, and if he says that "at least one", we'd obviously be able to find a post on some forum about some guy having a tiny tauntaun run out somewhere. The reality is that whenever you search for things about the Hoth TaunTaun, this thread comes up, and anything that isnt this thread, is primarily copypaste from this thread. With that in consideration, its pretty easy to induce that he's talking about something in the first 70 pages
  8. Due to SWTOR's mechanics, using anything on the Wampa's corpse would be impossible since he has the ability to be skinned for Bioanalysis. This makes right clicking unviable, and if any object is dragged to somewhere on the screen, it is assumed for deletion. Personally, I don't think the Wampa has to do with anything, it simply explains the dead soldier that was next to the chest before (pre 1.2). imo, they wouldn't put a huge clue to a vanity pet within the notes either, its not like you see "Incubator placed in the Dune Sea"
  9. Also, I seem to recall when I first landed on Hoth with a Toon I got an item that 'protected from environmental issues' or something. It was snow-gear of some sort. I had never known what it did, and sold it soon after, entirely forget the name as well. Does anyone remember this item, or know what its used for? (Was a long time back so I apologize if it was just some buff or something, but I just remembered about it). If it does protect against weather conditions, could it protect from highmount ridge debuff/some exhaustion zones? Cause that would be a huge stepping stone.
  10. I don't think so. The grade 47 Magenta Crystal needed the Refreshed and Sustained Tat buff, then the Orokeet (later put into the game) once again required the same buff. If the buff idea had been scrapped, we'd still be wandering around with little eggs. I wouldn't be so quick to cross things out, especially the Ice Thinner, since it is very related to where and what we are looking for. The MGSS grapple node things are really easy to spot tho, and I'm sure if there was a visible one on Hoth, one of us would have seen it for sure, so I'd say thats a no-go.
  11. 'Frightened Taunlet' would refer to the NPC you click on AFTER the final trigger, to use the NVCSSC on. You're not gonna stumble across a level 1 baby TaunTaun on Hoth just chilling there. The hard part is finding said trigger, and what you need for it.
  12. Data Mining never really works that great, but has anyone found 'Angry TaunTaun'. I have never stumbled across a hostile TaunTaun, and have it auto-attack me. http://www.torhead.com/npc/c2QWsid/angry-tauntaun This could easily be used for what I mentioned as well above. Get the hostile TaunTaun to follow you (angry because it lost its child) and kite it to somewhere and sap the baby tauntaun that comes running out to its mom.
  13. I completely agree with this. From what Zoeller stated in his post, I'm pretty sure he simply means that someone had reached the last 'trigger' but unable to fathom it. What I think would make perfect sense is to get this TaunTaun to follow you (probably with Jerky buff and, possibly, another one as well) and lead it TO the space center, which would in turn trigger an event in which you have to use the NVCSSC to capture the Taunlet (probably running to its mother). And remember what someone else said. The main factor of half of the vanity pet searches is TIME. The orobird, you need to sit underneath the solar panels for quite some time, or at least long enough that someone can't just stumble across it. Stand near this TaunTaun with jerky buff/jerky in inventory and wait. This would also be the reason as to why nobody has merely 'stumbled' across the right TaunTaun, because you're not supposed to. You have to do something to know that it is the right one. If I had the coordinates to that TaunTaun (sorry if they're already posted). I'd down my jerky to try it probably.
  14. Since people appear to be posting server names and asking about... Anybody on 'The Swiftsure', imperial side have the schematic? I only have 1 jerky and don't really wanna use it up on a 'hunch' or take the 20% chance RE. Toon = Mainstream - Send me an in-game mail
  15. Could you give me the coordinates to said cave? Starting tomorrow I'm going to have a lot of free time, and am looking to farm them for awhile.
  16. Sorry to pester, but is the Ice Scrabbler Liver attained through killing mobs of Wampas/TaunTauns and looting? Or by killing them and Bioanalysis skinning them? I've been trying to farm these for awhile now and have no such luck, so I'd just like to know how everyone has gotten theirs so far. I plan on doing a few more raids on the world bosses for (hopefully) the schematic, but if no such luck then I'll probably cross my fingers and RE in the one sitting in my inventory right now. I haven't done much searching since there is a lack of Jerky on my server, but through Zoeller's quote of how at least one person has been to the right area and there is a lot of truth in our posts. I doubt its on Alderaan, especially considering that Alderaan merely seems like the place for supplies (ie. the adegan crystal, the egg, the MGSS for datacron and now the NVSCCS). Then again, when saying that, it could be flipped, since most of the supplies are attained in Hoth for the TaunTaun.
  17. 30 minutes I believe. Maybe 1 hour. I was scanning the area around there for clues (mostly just the giant pit, forget what its called [turns out the area is for some quest, although I've never seen a quest lead there, and I never saw the area before 1.2]) and I grabbed the north one, fiddled around, went back up after around an hr and it had spawned again.
  18. Couldn't find it, unconfirmed. Confirmed, its pretty hidden and hard to get to, but close to the one up north so nice to farm. I just got a jerky drop from Gargath, anyone know the chance of learning the schematic through RE? I'm tempted. My server is The Swiftsure, and as far as I know, no one has the schematic. I am also very interested in the tauntaun ordeal myself. Have pursued a few leads but haven't gotten that far. Does anyone also know the best place to farm Ice Scrabbler Liver? And if its a drop or involves skinning the wampa (sorry, I'm sure this was posted already but I'm having some issues finding one). Thanks,
