  1. I have gone back and forth subbed and un-subbed so I will explain why I leave and why I come back. First why I left: Simply put I got board and discouraged. long version below 1. Every planet was the same. Sure one had trees, on had sand, one had mud and toxic puddles, one was a city, one used to be a city but all the environments were made using the same building blocks. The same hand rails, the same random doorless entries that forced you to run around a wall. didn't matter what planet you were on or faction. In my opinion they were not iconic at all and did not make me think Star Wars. Every space port was a carbon copy of the last. Nothing unique from planet to planet other than some random plants and the color of the ground. I was board at how they decided to stack the blocks to make buildings you cant enter or pointless platforms with the same stairs used any time they needed to add stairs. It was all the same. This alone was a major reason I quit. Nothing felt new regardless of how far I ventured or leveled. 2. Plastic... Every thing looks like its made from plastic. Now 1.4 did improve some of that but last nights game time was spent glitching around until I got sick and had a head ache. Either way every thing is shiny like its made with plastic. My robe, the dirt, the trees, my companions skin tight outfit. every thing is shiny like plastic. 3. Spandex. Every one is wearing spandex or some sort of skin tight outfit. Nice robe... made of spandex... nice neoprene Mandalorian armor Iove how the armor stretches and bends in on its self must be really good at not protecting you. No hard armor and not a loose fit article of clothing available. 1 end game set made me want to continue playing. The Battle master set for my Sith inquisitor. I started earning tokens at level 10 and exchanging them for BM tokens only to have that dream crushed after an update that drove me to quit again. The gear I wanted was now subpar, I could no longer trade up for BM tokens and the new set was more stupid spandex with a HUGE head. I re-rolled sith so I could look bad *** because my Jedi had a huge bubble *** caused by bad designers. I didn't want to spend time grinding out in a dull uninspired "shinny plastic" environment just to look stupid. 4. I was told I could pull the mods out of the poorly designed WH gear and sport the battle master look still at end game but it required earning two sets of the BM gear. One to trade in and one to convert the mods into from the BM set. Sadly though there is no info on how any of this stuff works so I am still atm contemplating on what to do since there is no in depth tutorials reassuring me that I wont look like a complete sissy at end game with my speedo designed armor with my giant stupid squid head helmet. 5. I used to do environment concept design and character design so having characters look stupid and the environments look shiny, cookie cutter and uninspiring is hard for me to get into a game. 6. Also not enough options for PvP. Why I keep coming back or keep my sub live even when I get fed up with the game. Short version. I like the PvP 1. Its Star Wars. 2. Low level PvP. TBH I love the 1-49 War Zones. If there was more maps i would do nothing but War Zones.... As long I can have cool armor to work towards. IMO I think they did a good job balancing 1-49 pvp. 3. Story missions. I love how the story missions have voice acting and are animated. I like how I can make choices in the dialog. I love how the funny one liners and I think the stories are well thought out. (though I will admit they didnt need to do this with every quest. This will hert them in the future and will slow down new content because now they have to VO and animate every quest.) 4. Play style reminds me of Tabula Rasa. I loved Tabula Rasa. 5. Companions. 6. Best customizable UI of any of the games I have enjoyed playing. Things ithink they could do to improve the game. 1. Fluff, fluff and more fluff. Pointless additions regardless of how small. 2. Pointless mini games 3. The ability to interact with the environment. I mean, come on... you give us an epic huge bar in center of our fleet station but we cant even sit down? 5. More PvP maps and War Zones 6. An epic reason for us to fight like fighting over resources. 7. real space battles.
  2. If you cant afford those things then you must not be playing the game at all. All the things you listed you can buy with money made from simply playing the game. or craft them your self. You do not have to do WZ or OP or group etc to acquire basic needs. If you have no money its because you are wasting it one trivial items or general mismanagement of your regularly acquired funds.
  3. What is considered proof to you? Every one who has posted reasons against it has to have some magical proof? All you have to do is play 90% of the MMO's out there to see the damage that is done by RMT. Only 1 MMO comes to mind that sells money and its a game people play while AFK. But this type of game the possible flooding of the market is bad for every one. Its bad for the hard core players who play often and its bad for the casuals who do not play as often. 1) Its bad for people who like to craft and sell their crafts. Cost of crafting mats goes up > Price of final product goes up > only the RMT players can now afford it > lowers demand > lower demand = less money to the crafter > Higher prices > High prices means a crafter can no longer afford to craft and has to choose to either RMT also or find a new game 2) PvP player is the least effected as their best in slot gear is acquired via effort and time spent towards a singular goal. This does not mean they do not need credits to do other activities they find fun. Inflation will even effect them as cost of needed goods climbs in price. 3) Casual gamer. Because of the hike in prices on the GTN a casual gamer is no longer able to upgrade equipment as intended by the original game design. > no longer able to get into groups because the gear req is to high do to inflation. The casual gamer will also be forced into having to RMT just for basic needs. This will increase the amount the casual gamer has to spend on being able to play the game and enjoy it. 4) Casual hardcore. This type of gamer doesn't play all day but when they do play they know what they want and push for it in their limited game time. These players will use every avenue they can to get what they want. These are the players most likely to RMT. The problem is at first things will come cheaply to them. a few dollars here for these mods and few dollars here for an augment. But with more and more players having to RMT day by day do to inflation eventually these players will be spending an exceeded amount of money. what once would have cost them ten dollars to buy soon becomes 20 or 30 because the people selling the items are forced to sell their items for more do to inflation. So the underline problem is in this type of game structure a RMT system effects every one negatively even the people who choose to RMT. The more they RMT the others have to the more they have to and back and forth. It will drive players away when items are unobtainable with out RMTing. So in all honesty the OP's view is very short sided and narrow minded. Bad economies in games can drive off new and old players alike. It deters crafting, it deters team play and fairness. Why would i want some one in my group who has only decent gear? Since you can RMT I expect every one to have top notch gear. But sadly the gap between those with money and those who RMT for it will become to great and people will quit. The more that quit the even more you credits devalue. You want to see a game turned into pure garbage because of RMT look no further than the epic fail known as Diablo 3.
  4. That awkward moment you have to tell your 5 year old Star Wars obsessed son that this Lego kit is yours but he can look at it. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k216/Rainstater/IMG_2848.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k216/Rainstater/IMG_2803.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k216/Rainstater/IMG_2794.jpg
  5. I would be willing to guess the facial animation didn't take priority. It was just done faster or was already done do to it's simplicity. A bug can take a lot of time to fix depending on how the bug was generated. I am willing to bet you have little to no experience in coding for games. There is a reason programers make the big bucks and are so in demand. They have the hardest job of them all.
  6. I used to be an animator, (first job out of school) Specifically character animation. Sorry to say but its easy. Adding in a dual spec feature takes a lot of coding and balancing for both PvE and PvP. The OP is comparing apples to oranges.
  7. OP made a QQ post. I made a sarcastic joke. There is a big difference between raging/ranting and making fun of some one.
  8. How dare they give us 1 small minor new feature that took them likely little to no effort to add to the game. OMG I'm totally going to rant about it. AHH RAGE! I don't care about the facial expressions either. But to rant about how you think they should of added some major new feature instead of some super minor tiny feature? You cant even compare the two. One took them a few days to add to the game if that. but you want them to add some large dual spec update that would take tons of time balancing let alone coding and implementing. I think my faith in players is at an all time low.
  9. Technically this game is not going free 2 play but Subscription based with a F2P option that has limited services. This game will be just fine. It already has a larger player bass than most other F2P games. I my self have at least 5 friends waiting for it to go free. I'm sure it will get a rather large influx of new players. Most will sub for being able to spam War Zones. COH being shut down is classic NCsoft. They will close any game they wish, successful or not so you cant really judge by anything NCsoft does.
  10. Why does it even matter? So some childish fools are tossing hate around about players from other servers. Instead of taking offense to it ignore it and prove them wrong with your actions and abilities. If you take offense to them saying people from your server suck then part of you must agree with them. If you flame back it makes you no better than them.
  11. Your friend must really feel special that you force yourself to play this game you think is horrible in order to spend time with him/her. That the time you spend with them in SWTOR is nothing more then you disrespecting them behind their back blatantly flaming something they enjoy. You're actually a pretty crappy friend. If I had a friend who was pretending to be my friend and pretending to enjoy something I enjoy while really hating every minute of it I would stop being that persons friend. No one wants a fake friend.
  12. This is why I will never play a NCfail game again. Yes even GW2. Because NCfail is well known for dumping games. As the news with COH proves it doesn't matter who developed it or even if it's successful.
  13. Their reason makes sense to me. It also opens up room for content updates. I would guess it wouldn't be very hard to add a line or two into any major conversations to give them their own story. With the game going F2P It could even be a revenue maker by having new races added as a subscriber only option or a 1 time fee. I wouldn't pay to play a new race but only because the race I wanted is in the game already. If it wasn't I surely would.
