You should max out the memory on the imac if you can. I run Parallels at work but I'm working with 8GB of memory. I gave the VM 4GB and swtor runs pretty decent. My windows 7 version is professional 64 bit.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but the que times are are very excessive. Imagine how bad it's going to get when the game "officially" releases.
