  1. The OP didn't put much thought into this thread. The game itself can already be pretty hard to play in certain situations if you don't have your companion with you. So to buff the enemies, plus make companions non combative is kind of over the top. I don't see them ever making a server that doesn't allow you to have a companion that fights, since the leveling and story lines have a lot to do with your companions. This type of server sounds like it would take a LOT of time and money to create, plus take away from normal content in the game for everyone else that doesn't care for this idea. If you want the game to be harder, just skip all the planet quests except for the class quests, and complete them until they get to the difficulty you like, and then play from there. Whenever I get bored I just start doing quests that are meant for higher levels to make it more interesting. Once you are level 50, and you have beaten all the hardmode OPs....then I suppose you just have to make another character or quit. If you get to this point, I think its safe to say that you are in desperate need of a break from this game, as you probably had played it way more than a normal amount of time.
  2. I wouldn't pay my own money for that kind of feature. Even RUNESCAPE has had the feature in their game for a longggg time, and its free. Of course SWTOR is on another level than Runescape, but that is why we already pay $15 a month for it, plus the original $60 from the start. It would be nice to be able to re-customize your character in the game....it would also be nice to be able to race change.... It would also be nice to be able to scan a random NPC in the game...and make it so that ur character can look like it. This would drastically increase the amount of playable races... and I believe many people would be open to this idea even without the options to customize the scanned NPC appearance. Honestly, I don't really care if I was able to change the color of my Kel Dors skin....and I also don't care if couldn't look corrupted. I JUST WANT TO PLAY AS A KEL DOR!!!!
  3. Blizzard is smart, and that is why WoW is starting to look like a kids game. They are trying to make their game appealing to people that haven't experienced a MMORPG yet. Now they will be able to suck in a whole new crowd of people for years to come.
  4. It would be a cool idea. I hate to say this, since I don't like thinking of things in a negative way.... this game isn't really much of a OPEN WORLD MMORPG. It somewhat is open world, but for the most part.... everyone is kind of restricted to running in certain areas of the world, sticking to paths and roads, running between mountain passes, areas that are basically forcing you to go a certain way....etc. Just like the Space Missions are right now, a set path. If they create something like the OP is describing, it will never be as epic sounding as hes making it out to be. We would be restricted to being able to fly within a small area I would assume. We wouldn't be able to go off and fly around the space station as we please, and there would probably only be one or a few designated areas you could land on in the space station that you are attacking. There would be many people complaining that its too much like an FPS... if people aren't good at it they won't play it, which is why I think lots of people play MMORPGs in the first place....since lots of them aren't all that good at other types of games. MMORPGs are more of a thinking game, more strategy to them...while games like FPS are more based on hand-eye skill and reflex. For example... Im not the best at FPS games, and I find myself having more fun playing MMORPGs sometimes since I find them easier to play... even though I believe a FPS game would be more fun if I was good at it.
  5. Might seem like it has a crap load of players as all the players were filtered onto a small select amount of servers. There are still less than 10 servers that reach the high population. While you have games like WoW, which hasn't had new content in almost a year, has over 10 servers that are usually marked as full, and then usually around 20 something servers marked as high, MANY servers marked as medium, and then however many marked as Low. I would never go as far as saying this game has a crap load of players YET. Never know if it will have lots in the future, but it sure doesn't right now. Although, Bioware is really pulling off a good illusion by having a hand full of servers packed.
  6. Well to be fair, SWTOR should have learned from many other MMORPGs, that adding this stuff to the game is important. This is 2012, not 2004... the demand for everything to be in a game is a lot higher than it was back in 2004. People don't want to wait for this stuff, and then pay for it years later in an expansion...when they've already gone through the exact same situation with other games. Some people feel they have already paid for these types of features among the MMORPG category when they paid for it over 5 years ago in WoW. People expect new games like SWTOR to have the all of the stuff that other MMORPGs have in it, but bringing it to another level since it is a newer game, and it has better technology to be more creative with it. They don't want to have to wait for it to be added to the game, when they could just go pay $15 for a different game that already has had it for many years.
  7. I don't have a quote of it, but this is the exact same reason why I have said before that they needed to release more races in the game at launch, or at least VERY early on. There is a decent selection right now, although most all look the same, but the color of the skin is different, with the option to add a different looking tattoo or jewelry. Since there isn't all that much to do at lvl 50 right now, people level alts. By the time races come out that people want to play as, the player will have already made the classes they want to play Then the new race release will be pretty useless, and might even have a NEGATIVE EFFECT. The players will be left with the option to level a whole new character of the same class, or a class that they do not care for.... which will end up not being fun even if its a race they love. Ive realized this on the day the game was released, since I VERY BADLY wanted to be a Kel Dor Jedi Guardian. As lame as it sounds, it was something that was really important to me, as I was looking forward to it for a few years before the game came out. In the end, I was pretty upset, which left a bad first impression for me. I had to SETTLE with making a Human Jedi Guardian, which was my second choice, although it was far behind my first choice. Now if they release the Kel Dor as a race, I will be upset knowing that I will have to create a whole new character just to be the "Kel Dor Guardian that I've always wanted to play as". Seems like too much work just to have a different appearance. I also wouldn't want to pay to change my character looks, since there isn't any benefit from it racially speaking. Unlike in WoW, how races have their own racial abilites, this game just has a special social visual...which isn't worth the price of a race change if they make it a paying feature in the future. The race situation in this game is much like the situation where they need more social Role Playing stuff in the game. Im not a role player myself, but I have to admit, being able to do random things during down time to pass the time sounds like it would be a lot nicer. Just like how having your character look exactly how you want it to look. Liking the appearance of your character could add to the fun, and also it could make someone want to invest a lot of their time into the character.
  8. Another fail of communication for Bioware. Very frustrating. Its also frustrating knowing that it was the highest populated server at the time it happened.... why not pick a EAST COAST SERVER?! It was 4am in the east, while it was 1am in the west....
  9. Lol, smart move by BW...pick the highest populated West Coast server when its only quarter to 1 on the west coast, while its 4am in the East....
  10. I have a lvl 8 legacy on one server... Which I got from leveling a Jedi Guardian to lvl 50, and a sniper to lvl 18. Then on another server I have a legacy lvl 4.... Which I got from leveling a Powertech to lvl 44, an Assassin to lvl 19, and an Agent to lvl 9. When I transferred my PT, JD, Sniper, and Assassin all to completely different server.... It brought my lvl 8 Legacy to the new server, and the lvl 4 legacy was left behind on the server my PT used to be on. It would of been pretty cool if it took the experience from both legacies and put it together, although I didn't expect that to happen. I'm just happy I was able to bring my highest Legacy over.
  11. Yall don't realize that this same thing happened when the game was launched? Just deal with this for a week or two, and the hype will be over. The ques will be gone, we will still be on a very nicely populated server, and we won't have to deal with months of dead servers since all you little whiners can't wait 10 minutes to log on your character for a couple weeks. If they start spreading the servers out right now, its just gonna have the same issue as before, have PATIENCE!!!!!! 10 minutes of ur life isn't that much... I'm sure you can go do something productive for the time as you wait.
  12. Hmmm... for some reason, when I select my characters on Shadowtown, the destination for The Bastion won't light up. Im not even on my game right now
  13. Lol, i just name my characters after characters in the movies...but with a adjustment to my name.... Like Bronobi....Brolo...Broder....Broda....I dont care if people get annoyed by it, its a simple way to make a name, and you'll be recognized on all your characters easier.
  14. So....you want server merges....but you only want the merges if they are to your server, so that you can keep your names? Since it seems like that is the only reason you are mad. If they are transferring a bunch of servers to a low populated one, that would mean the low pop destination server would increase quiet a bit if most active players on the servers go for the transfer....pretty much a merge, minus the people that like to stay on a low populated server. Quit ur whining.
