  1. Dont guard in a pug. Pugs run around the middle of huttball taking oodles of damage and you take half of it, probably while being fired at from that sniper on the top ramp.

The key to immortal PvP (I'm a battlemaster I've done plenty of these 3 warzones) is to commit yourself at the right time. For example. At the beginning of Huttball every melee rushes in to get to the ball and battle anyone trying to get it. As an immortal Jugg this is wrong. You will be focus fired from the snipers and sorcerors. Wait for your enemy to pick targets (not you) then charge into the melee and AoE taunt everything. Bam 3 medals. After that you can intercede an ally and help kill someone. By taunting you keep your DPS alive a bit longer for them to win the fights.

In a WZ like Voidstar you stay in the middle and dont commit until the melee is thick. 95% of people wont switch targets because they want the kill. As long asyou are not targetted by 2 or 3 people you will change the course of the battles. You have 5 interrupts, use them on healers and ranged dps who are unloading on your allies. You have 3 damage reduction abilites, use them only when you get focus fired.

The key as immortal is to be unassuming in PvP. You are not a tank, no one is. Any class can be focus fired down. You are a damage mitigater. You are there to taunt other dps smacking your allies around and to lock down a healer. If you get 1v1ed you have plenty of tools to help you win the fight.

Don't guard DPS pugs. Guard a healer if anything and only when you see him in trouble. make the most of your interrupts and force jumps. Lock healers down. Without them healing the taunted enemies, they will not beat your DPS allies. Play smarter and you will feel more powerful.

I 100% approve this message, in short and less apathetic to the noobs, LEARN YOUR CLASS!!! Not EVERYONE is DPS, not everyone has "mad heals yo" . There is a guard stat for a reason used it.

  2. In all noobiness, i find it admireable of bioware to implement the use of taunt in pvp . To be perfectly honest, this is the first mmorpg that makes me use taunt-system in pvp and get rewarded for using it .

And i find it this to be brilliant !!!!! :) ; jugg basically is a tanking class ( hence no monster dps here) , ther4 they shuld hv another job which is eating dmg from enemies to ur friends. But i think there arent enough skills to help us do a betetr job in pvp.

i think we need to have a bit 'more helping tool ' both pvp and pve.

My thought is the additional effect on the sundering assult's debuff , for eg: a 1% dmg reduction for enemy if they attack target other than you , stack 5 times .

    A thought on this

I know for a fact WARHAMMER did it before this game. It's nothing new, just BLIZZARD's never could figure out that making moves do different things in pve/pvp in WoW was the way to balance classes while not NOT nerfing. oh and all squishies had detaunts in warhammer too, making you untargetable for like 5 seconds.. talk about being a beast. I mean how hard is it to come up with something like that to make a game rock in pvp?

  3. raid is for nooobs who dont have skill and need to go against npc to feel better isntead of players... sorry he is talking abuot serious pvp and not some pve... and obviously you cant call a class balanced by killing brainless npc

LMAO serious PVP, are you getting paid for some pvp swtor tourney that only you know about? BAHAHAH serious PVP

  4. For a tree specific skill, at lvl 40, boltstered to 50 in the WZ,s....it does....300 damage on impact and get this....1063 over 18 seconds!!!

    BWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!!

18 seconds? Really? This is our grav round? Our tree sepcific skill? Excuse me while I ROLF o' copter!

My God. No wonder no one plays this spec. It is pathetically weak.

    Incendiary....missspelled

That's funny, since lvl 10 I have lead or come in the top 5 in total damage in EVERY WZ I have been in. I have just hit 21 with my lowbie 20 pvp gear and I just cracked 300k total damage 8 medals and 51 total kills with 15 killing blows. I have seen better but Pyrotech (incend missle procs rail shot a lot) Oh yeah I am the guy fighting on doors and turrets et and capping at the same time. I must be a beast.. oh wait! Yeah I am a beast!

    Babble-Fett :D

  5. It's kinda of obvious, well at least to me, that the specs are "intended" as follows:

Watchman - Dot up time for longer duration Raid Boss fights or heavily armored players in PvP.

Combat - combination spec for sustained burst and AOEs. Weaker targets in PvP and trash mobs in raids.

Focus - PvP spec with CC/Interrupt/Anti-cc abilities on lower cool downs.

Just read the tree abilities/spec and it's kinda of clear, barring game mechanics that don't work as intended but that has nothing to do with the tree.

  6. I see all these "hatin posts" I have to agree with the OP and even though my Sentinel and Scoundrel are lowbies. Scoundrel owns all.

The aoe, dots they have and a lot of "get out jail free cards" to play. low cool down flashbang, "ball kick" (my fav) They are beast. To be quite honest. I play my toons pretty nasty. I don't mean I am the best but I do tend to win a lot of fights. It's all about the right spec for the right job, THAT and most of the players base are avg skills at best. I run into a few people that might give me a run but most of the time it's because they are 25 lvls higher than I am. Scoundrels I feel are built for these games that BW set up. I play my guy to win not just kill people. Spec for low cool down for dots, aoes and you can hold off over 1/2 their team easy till someone spawns to help you. It's almost cheating. I have always been a team players and Scoundrel is a nasty super fun class. It ain't all about the dps imo.

  7. How can you even tell balance at this point with how many terrible players populate the game? I have yet to play a game with a worse playerbase, skillwise.

I take it you didn't play WoW? holy crap to me PC games in general have the largest crappy player base in pvp. They have a nice small% of elite players too, but waaaaay more crappy players. I don't mean just skill I mean situational awareness and total lack of gaming knowledge of strategies. It boggles my mind really and they queue for WZs over and over and over.

  8. I, for one, love the game types. I like them all but after a while the maps get old. I realize the game is in it's infant stage and thing might be on the way; however, I rather put my ideas out now.

WoW had some great games in pvp, but most just like the standard king of the hill, breech, capture the flag sorta of mechanics. WoW never kept it simple they added too much crap and took the basic fun out the pvp. I don't want PvSE (player vs seige engines)

I talked to a lot of people then/now and they agreed, keep it simple.

Now on to the point of my post. What would be some good map layouts for the current games. Be as specific as possible, you never know who might read this

Outdoor desert landscape or forest-swap hybrid for "cannon-type games"

The hutt-ball game with similar board but make trenches on the sides or maybe pit-like/trap instead of fire traps.

Maybe an actual soccer/football field with more open area and have power ups on the field for fast running or capture a turret that assist in defending the end zone or just player activated traps all together, like maybe you capture point A and that activates the fire/pit traps sorta thing.

I would like to know what everyone thinks about this or any input of map layout design or types of games. Input is input.!!! :D

  9. Lol this is my favorite forum thread yet, this shows why people "hate" assassins, because you don't take the damn time to read anything and just want to faceroll! THIS ISNT WOW! I'm glad for 0 facerolling!

yeah, sadly to be a great game the masses win! They crappy players cry so much till everything is given to them eventually. :(

  10. First warzone healing is beyond under powered. In the current system I can focus heal a single player and 2 good dps will kill them every time. I'm not even talking about good players with smart CC, we'll get to that in a second. Short of healing a tanking class if it's 2v2 the two dps beat a healer + dps and this is what they call balancing around team play.

I wanted to highlight this point specifically and say without hesitation, FINALLY!, this is great news to hear.

Wait you mean you can't heal through TWO DPS hitting on a target? I remember in WoW and their awesome OP healers (I played them all). They not only healed through 2 they healed themselves through 3-4 sometimes. I am glad you can't heal through more than one dps. That IS balance my friend. I bet you wouldn't cry if you could heal 6 people with a 4 sec insta-cast aoe heal, WOULD YOU? I bet you would think you were sooo awesome and cry when BW nerfed it. Learn to adapt, I swear this generation complains the most out of any of them. I can't beat even geared class X and I always lose to such and such class. Well the common denominator is YOU

Sorry for the come back rant, just really tired of hearing it. I am not the best healer by far but I can hold my own and if I can't heal through 2 dps then, so what? you die sometimes. Most of the time the dps you are healing sucks and doesn't cc/peel/ or just doesn't know his class well. It happens. The elite players make up a small % of this game and sometime you might run into them. :D:cool:

  11. Ilum is still a lagfest but my crappy computer is mostly to blame there. Ability delay in WZs is gone though. It's like playing a different game.

I agree with this statement. I was running about 45-70 ms lag and I would spam flashbang about 4-5 times till it finally went off. I played this morning in only two WZs and hit it once and it worked and I would normally stop fighting at about 5% health BEFORE the patch because I assume it wouldn't go off. I still died but at least it was from running away AFTER the ability hit my target, first try. Woot! TY FOR LISTENING BW! :D

  12. I feel that SWTOR is a good game, but in order for it to be a great game, there are some areas that need to be improved if it wants to be a viable contender in the MMO market. Here are some of my thoughts~

    1) Ability Delay: (in progress)

they are fixing it as you pointed out :)

    2) Cross Server Queues

yeah I hate long queue times too, anything over 2-3 mins is a waste. ;)

    3) CameraSnap

don't know nor do i care. doesn't effect me or my play :D

    4) Remove Ilum PvP Dailies

I am not high enough, but i remember from WoW and getting ganked while trying to do dailies blows.

    5) Able to queue for specific warzone

Doesn't matter really. They are all boring after seeing the same map for the 300th time.

    6) balanced classes(hopefully in progress)

This is PVE story based game. Unless they make abilities do one thing in PVE and another in PVP eg. Taunt or Detaunt, then I agree with the balance issue.

    7) PVP RNG loot and commendations

Yeah RNG for bags is stupid unless you can sell the gear on the AH then it might be good. :D

    8) Premade Warzones

I remember when WoW started that and my pugs against mad geared premades. omg loads of fun. We would lose WSG in like 5 mins- 3 capped. Maybe make the daily only premade. :o

I really enjoy this game, and it has such potential to be a really great game. Thanks for reading my wall of text, if anyone has further additions I would be happy to add them to my list.

I enjoy this game too. I like relaxing on the story and vowed I would only PVE.

I PVP'd two toons to 20 already and probably will do the rest of my alts too, I still dunno. PVP in this game, just like any other PVE based game, is an after thought.

I learned from WoW, that people don't do world pvp once you have BGs (warzones) and 2 everyone has class A alt in case class B gets nerfed, so they always can be on top of food chain.

A lot of people ***** and complain about class A being over power just because they can't beat them.

I am no pro, but I can hold my own and every class I play I lead or am in the top of whatever catagory I am supposed to be tops in (healing, dps, objectives).

So with that said. I am either the best player ever or the vast majority suck at this game. I will go with the latter. If you lose a lot then the common denominator (I hate to say it) is YOU ;):D :D

  13. Really only reason i would like arena is cause sometimes i just want to kill people..

Why do MMOs refuse to put just a Team Deathmatch game mode 8v8 Deathmatch on Huttballs map would keep me entertained forever

I agree with this. I never understood why blizzard just didn't make Arathi Basin / WSG type games on different maps with differnt themes. I hated all the other "games" seige is crap imo. players vs tanks really!?!

  14. I say no. Blizzard admitted in a interview that Arenas was the worst idea they had and they wished they could go back and NOT make it.

Arenas with rules maybe. I say 3v3 and one has to be a healer or everyone gets same gear and when u make ur team you start at rank zero! no stupid LoS maps, just a plain, empty arena so ur skills matter not objects in the arena.
