  1. No. That is taking the argument too far and off base.

What you're suggesting is that people do not want to play the game but instead get instant quest rewards and complete dungeons.

What people are actually saying is that they do not want to spend hours in General Chat. Spamming LFM.

You can't argue with him. He doesn't like anyone to have fun.

  2. not really a big deal, there will always be one that can implement a system that will not kill certain aspects of the game, in this case, the community.

guess ill be looking forward to GW2 if this cross server dungeon finder gets implemented.

no skin off my teeth. but i was hoping bioware would want to entice players to keep playing. guess not.

I've canceled my account. If they add LFD I will most likely resub. It does appear they want to entice people to keep playing. Just not people who panic over little changes that help more than they hurt.

  3. you may be right.

because the wow forums are still complaining about its implementation.

LFD+bad on wow forum search engine gives 6926 topic hits.

guess it was all me though. :D

Some of those threads are actually positive. Not to mention many of them are well over a year old. But you know, when your argument fails you start reaching for anything. Hang in there, pal.

and yeah, it was so bad that even queing with my guildies we made sure we were a full group so we wouldnt have to deal with drama.

i quit wow on the dec12. the day i got TOR. mainly because of the community.

I think it is pretty obvious that a lot of people here didn't share your terrible experiences. Again, it was probably you.

  5. i quit using LFD because of all the griefing. i got tired of going through 10 different people quitting out or getting kicked, making a dungeon that should have been 15 minutes into an hour long undertaking.

no anyone that has played wow knows how bad the LFD system is, and thats why most people only use it with groups already formed with guildies and friends.

Sorry you had bad experiences. It was probably you. Most people I know used it and loved it and never had those problems.

  6. exactly. people that like the LFD system in wow are one of two things:

    1. lazy

    2. the griefers that want to grief groups through cross server anonymity.

    lol...

Or people that don't have tons of free time to play but still want to see content, and a LFD helps them do that.

Or people that are introverts and feel uneasy spamming for groups in town and like the convenience that LFD provides.

Or about a million other things than the 2 very narrowly thought out options you provided.

  7. 1. It will bring more complaints about long Q's. It will not fix the problem that it was intended to fix but just make it look like it to the individual. You know there will be posts of where are all the tanks or where are all the healers posts right after they do this.

    2. LFG will make it better for the selfcentered player. Now those players can find a group that they have no accountability for. Who cares if I ninja that item, my companion that I am not using can use it so hey I am going to roll on it because there is a 99.99% chance I will never group with these guys again so why do I care about them.

    3. It destroys comunities and guilds. Why even join a guild now since you can now just randomly join a LFG and get what you want. Again no responsibility to anyone but yourself.

    4. It promotes bots and afk play. Even if they add a kick feature it will be like WoW's (you know it will because they copy everything from WoW) that after a while of kicking them you wont be able to kick then and have to let them get away with being AFK.

    5. It destroys the community on the server. Now you will have less people questing on the planet because they are now afking on the fleet waiting for their Q, therefore forcing anyone that now wants to do a flashpoint into using the LFG.

    6. It will now add in the *** posts if why they have 3 players rolling on the same type of gear for their mains (for the ones that actually not selfcentered wanting all the gear.)

So just so you can get a group easier (dont think it will really be faster) you are ok with all the problems it will cause.

Your entire stance is so misguided.

  8. "It's not true!!!!"

You sound like Luke denying Darth Vader was his father.

Nope. My experience with LFG was way more positive than negative. You get occasional idiots but no more than you get if you just spam in town. Difference being if I spam in town it may take an hour and if I get stuck with idiots I have to leave and spam for another hour. If I end up in a bad LFG run I can just leave and be ready to go again in 15 minutes or so.

  9. For real.

I am more than happy to put the effort in to roll two toons if I want to so Dual Spec has no interest for me. If I have to use it in order to be equal in game I will quit.

I will never ever use a xsvr LFD.

    Facts.

Now prove me wrong or were you just trying to look cool?

    Driz

You'll use both as soon as your realize how much more fun it makes the game. You can puff your chest on the forums all you want but nothing you say holds any water. You just like to stomp your feet when other people get nice things.

  10.

Why not have a special quest at leve 1 which rewards you with a token. When you use the token you automatically get levelled to 50 and given full BM gear.

Thats far more efficient and convenient than the way things work now isntit, no?

MMORPGs work on TIME / RISK * REWARD basis.

Single player RPGs and FPS games do not.

    Driz

Sorry but this is a terrible post and not at all comparable to what people are talking about. You should delete it because you embarrassed yourself.

  11. That's an opinion. I personally am finding the lack of some of those "features" (PvP in a box, flying mounts, and Cross Server PvE I'm looking at you) to be why I love this game so much. I don't have to worry about idiots from other servers acting like fools because they didn't get their way or ninjaing. I don't have to sit there and watch as PvP becomes these little 2v2 and 3v3 fights that lead to sweeping changes every single patch. I don't have to worry about a lot of that stuff in this game and that's why I love it.

As long as they make it so you can't roll need on stuff you can't use there is nothing to worry about with ninjaing anyway. That is not a valid complaint against a robust LFD system.

  12. Wrong, flashpoint couriers are on each planet. Finding a group for a flashponit levels 1-48 would be much easier to do from the planet in which you first get the quest for the FP and not in fleet. Why? Because that is where you will find other players that are your level who may be looking for those FP's.

At level 50, FP and Ops can be asked in one of a couple places, Fleet or Ilum. At level 50, finding a HM FP and ops is easy to do in both places. People are constantly trying to do dailies.

Destroyed my arguments? Hardly. Now you just look like a noob who hasn't played the game at all.

Oh, so you changed your point. Cool. Way to go. Ignore anything that was said and say new things.

  13. Welcome to life. One big match of gathering people for activities. I have to hire more people at work. I have to convince more people to join the Fire Hall, more people to go to church, more people to play on the flag football team.

Interacting with humans in such a way is how our voluntary society came about. Most people wouldn't like it if some matchmaker randomly assigned them teammates (whether that be in marriage, at a job, or wherever) so why that has to be the norm on an MMORPG confuses me.

Because it is a game and not real life.

  14. Wrong, it destroys content.

When one can stand in fleet and sit in queue all day, that leaves 90% of the games content unused.

When BW spent all that money on the voice acting, you would think that they would make sure that we were out experiencing it and not sitting in ORG waiting for the next queue to pop.

That is what people do already. Sit in fleet and spam for groups. They can't even leave fleet if they hope to see any content. With a LFD they could quest and do other things while waiting.

Would you like me to destroy any of your other points?
