  1. Thank you so much for the guide. It does a great job of providing a number of details!! One thing I thought of that could make it even better is a brief high-level summary of each of the talent trees playstyle. This would help a new person decide which one to learn more about, such as Combat focuses on DOTs /bleeds (this is an example and not accurate). I am enjoying playing the class, but as I am only lvl 16 I am still in the "spam" phase and am looking for information to determine which tree to focus on and if the class will continue to be fun to play in the mid/end game. Thanks again for your post!! Scott
  2. Thanks - I will try it asap. I am left to wonder what, if anything, I can do to improve my performance?? Is my experience A-typical? Is it a function of my graphics card? RAM? 32-bit versus 64-bit? Too hard to really be able to tell. I understand I will need to read up and play with it - but I sure hope there is better experiences to be had. Scott
  3. I was able to log into the game for the first time last night, which was great. Unfortunately I can now see how the game performs on my machine and it is not very good. The sounds and graphics don't seem to mesh, lips moving out of synch with dialog and the characters seem to have very rough edges to them. The cut screens and loading screens look great though... It was late by the time I was able to log in, given the patches etc. so I am hoping to be able to mess around with the setting more to gauge how much impact I can have by adjusting the settings. One quick question I have - where can I check to see the FPS I am getting in game? I tried looking briefly through the game settings and didn't see it anywhere. Thanks as always, Scott
  4. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! D you have been a huge help. I am currently finally loading up the game and crossing my fingers I can actually get it to work!! I was able to "borrow" a 32-bit version just to see if I could make it all work and what kind of performance I would get once I did. If all goes well, I will work this weekend to get the 64-bit version installed. Thanks again and hopefully I will see you in game soon. Scott
  5. Thanks D!! Given the way this process is going, and say I am able to install Windows 7 - what is the next issue(s) I am likely to face? Just curious what I should start researching... meaning do I need to look around for specific drivers or other bits of software? Or should the game load once I have Windows and I should be able to play straight away? Thanks, Scott
  6. Yeah, I have been checking there and on Apple discussions and there seems to be a rather complicated way to get around this issue (I think). It involves downloading some files and then copying the Window 7 disc and then creating a new install disc. What I am unclear about is if I switched and installed a 32-bit version it I would experience the same issue? I hate to buy ANOTHER copy of Windows 7, given the expense and uncertainty around what my game experience will be once I am able to actually load the game. Thanks agian for all your help daemian!! Scott
  7. A quick update. I was able to create a partition on my iMac, but unfortunately it looks like the firmware to support the 64-bit version is not readily available (and/or I can't find it so far). Any suggestions? The error I am getting is the that when I go to install Windows 7 it asks me for my CD boot type (either 1 or 2) and I can't select either of them as my keyboard etc. does not work. Thanks, Scott
  8. You can go to any computer parts web site and look for a 4GB card. Basically you get to 6GB by using one 2GB and one 4GB. I am in the same boat and considering buying on myself. Scott
  9. Ok, I will and hope I have enough space... I have 138 GB free of my 300GB hard drive. Is the game that big? Completed defragmenting my hard drive and still having the issue where is says "The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved." any ideas? I am going to check the Apple community forums as well. Thanks, Scott
  10. Well I started the bootcamp process and ran into a snag before being able to even partition my hard drive and now am in the middle of defraging it in hopes of getting rid of the error. More to come. Scott
  11. No it is an 64-bit OEM version of Windows7. I was trying to save a little money that way. So if it doesn't work I think I am out of luck and would have to buy another copy. Not sure if it would "technically" work on another Mac, but I don't think I could return it and get the other one. I don't mind spending time to look around and try to find the right drivers, although I am not 100% of what all that entails. I guess I could treat it as a meta-game before the real one. Scott
  12. daemian - Thank you so much for all your help. The link you posted earlier was the same one where they indicated that I could use a 64-bit version with my computer. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac-core-2-duo-2.4-24-inch-aluminum-specs.html I am still unsure of whether to try the 64-bit version of Windows 7 or go back and get the 32-bit version. Is the only difference the amount of ram that it can leverage? If so, given the age and specs of my iMac - do you think it would help me to have more ram available for Windows 7 and the game? I am thinking the answer is yes, but wanted to ask your opinion. Thanks as always, Scott
  13. Will do! So to make sure I have my facts straight. I could run the game using a version of Windows 7 at 32-bit, but your recommendation is to try using 64-bit. The reason is because that would allow the game to use more RAM - is that right? I am assuming that I will be able to find the 64-bit drivers I need once I install bootcamp and Windows 7, despite that my system runs at 32-bit speed. Gosh I wish I understood what I am actually saying...lol. Thanks again, Scott I can't wait to see if this is actually going to work.
  14. Thanks for the quick response. The only reason I was thinking the 64-bit might not be as good, if in fact it could run in the 32-bit version is because that is what my Mac OS runs at. I also should have included the fact that my iMac only has 4Megs of RAM, which i think is all it can have. I noticed you referenced 6, any idea how that would work? I currently have 2-2Meg cards. Thanks again for your help. Without this thread I doubt I would even try this - given how many issues people seem to have. Scott
  15. Hi - Well I am taking the plunge and bought the game and a copy of Windows 7. I plan to run it on my iMac 2007 24" Model 7,1. I think I meet all of the minimum requirements, but ultimately need to try it to see. My question is: Do I need to have the 64-bit version of Windows 7? My computer is using 32-bit native at the moment and it is supposed to be able to run 64-bit as well. I bought the 64-bit version thinking that is what I needed, but wanted to check here to see if anyone knows for sure. (AND before I open the box and pay for potentially the wrong one!!) A follow-up question: Is there any advantage to using one over the other? Meaning if say the game can be used in 32-bit mode (which is what my computer is set up for) does it use less RAM or run faster or slower with one version over another? Thanks in advance to all help! Scott
