And u obviously keep missing the point. you dont NEED to pay for anythign to play guildwars... you can buy the game install it and play as much as you like without spending any more money. the fact that people CHOOSE to buy extra bank space, character slots and costumes, does not make it a p2p game. SWTOR REQUIRES you to pay a monthly subscription to play the game. THEREFORE you cannot play swtor without PAYING MORE MONEY. Stop sitting there saying guildwars is pay to play when u obviously dont understand teh difference between buying a game and not paying more to PLAY it, and games which REQUIRE you to pay more IN ORDER TO PLAY.

because i played the game for many years, and was able to be the best i could be at it without paying for anything other than the disc's to play it. The facts the same, i dont hate on people who pay to play this, the same way as i dont hate on people who play WoW ect im making the point that this game, like guildwars can be very successful and very profitable without making you guys pay extra money... simple

Only other person on this thread that talks sense lmao They keep dismissing the fact that Guildwars IS an mmo which HAS masses of people playing and IS free, with the only microtransactions taking place having NO affect on making one player better than another. You can keep posting about how i believe everything should be free, but if you've read the other posts you will know thats not what im getting at. The fact is your paying so much for a game and so much more to play it when there is no need to do this at all, and untill u understand this fact ul keep on paying and wasting ya money =]

please answer me this.... HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED GUILDWARS? wow how hard is it to understand the concept that you can actually pay for a game and play it online WITHOUT paying anything more? You can quite easily become the best at a game like that without paying any more in fees or so called 'microtransactions'

Fact is other big MMO's have done it free and made substantial profit, the fact that you like most of the people who have posted on this thread all believe that the cost of hosting is so expensive that we must pay them loads of cash to play shows how easily tehy can suck cash from you =]

Funny how games like Guildwars could still make profit and stay in business whilst keeping their game free. Lemme explain to you how greed works... they make you believe that the only way to keep the game going is for you to pay more... people like yourself fall for that scam, pay silly amounts of money and the game stays the same, expansion packs come out 6 months down the line, and hey presto you've paid even more money for a game that still hasn't changed... lmao

And the upfront cost of the game doesn't cover these costs? Its not like im saying it should be 100% free... im saying should be one or the other, either they ask me to pay for a game, or they ask me to pay to be a member of a game...

That would suggest that you would still be able to get to the drink inside without a straw... so in game terms the straw = bonus content, and the drink = prepaid content, therefore making your straw idea laughable as you cant get to the game content without paying more for it

Your just not getting it are you... lmao Why pay for something you cant use? Please explain this to me. If i had walked away with the game i would not have been able to play UNLESS i paid more. The fact is more only NEEDS to be paid, so that the £45 million they make from you 1st million players, turns into £54 million thanks to the 1 million £9 monthly subscriptions.

of course F2P games exist! ive just given u a big example... LIKE GUILDWARS YOU PAY FOR THE SOFTWARE WITH THIS GAME, BUT UNLIKE GUILDWARS YOU THEN HAVE TO PAY MORE. just incase you didnt get it the 1st time. This game WILL have expansion packs just like guildwars did, just like WoW, but the fact is you will still have to pay to play this game online. All it comes down to is greed
