  1. Ion cannons are your best friend. Also, be sure to try out the retro thrusters. They are acutally pretty useful., and can get you out of tight spots and annoying tails fairly easily.
  2. I am on Jedi Covenant, and have noticed this as well. Between my toons, I have played 72 matches, with only 6 losses...all of them to other Republic squads. It seems like the pubs destroy the imps every match, and I am not sure why.
  3. Hello all, So, I have been PvPing on my guardian for over a year now. I typically spec defense. Here lately, it seems that I am underperforming (DPS-wise) compared to the other guardians on my server. I was hoping for some advice from the community. My build: http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/guardian/17/?build=021222100212120222102000000000000320001000000000000000000000000003022021010200000000000000000000&ver=20 Also, advice on rotations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Where Is It?

I couldn't agree more. Also, arenas.
  6. As far as knockback, CC's, and survivability goes, I think that TOR is pretty balanced. Part of what makes bosses fun and interesting is how you handle their abilities. If you're fighting a boss that knocks you around, tank him against a wall. If he has serious stun potential, take an off tank with you. Positioning and threat control are parts of Tanking 101 that make being a tank interesting. The part of tanking that I am having to adjust to (coming from WoW) is the idea that not everything needs to be tanked. Mobs in instances here are so spread out, that it is difficult to keep them all. Some of the weaker ones, though, can be cc'd or simply burned by the dps. As long as the healer isn't getting constantly interrupted or brutally murdered , it's all gravy. Tanking in SWTOR takes some practice, no doubt. Just be sure that you are a) managing your defensive cooldowns effectively and b) remembering basic tanking doctrine, you will do just fine.
  7. I am going to imagine that this issue has been addressed previously, but I wanted to post this thread rather then rummaging through an indeterminate amount of old thread pages to find it. I lament the lack of add-on support in this game. In a way, I suppose I understand why: the engine clearly has enough bugs without introducing player-made ones. With that in mind, how do we go about getting threat and damage/healing meters introduced into the game? I find it difficult to benchmark my performance without these things. If anybody has any advice on how to do this without the use of these meters, I would gladly accept it.
  8. I guess my question here, is does the original piece still have to have the mods in it to trade? Could you buy a piece, pull the mods out, and stick it in your cargo hold until you are ready to trade it?
  9. I appreciate the reply. So, as I am somewhat new to PvP, why is this build inferior? Honest answers please, I already know I am new and don't need to be reminded.
  10. This. The problem with many Huttball pugs is that you always have three or four guys that go in there and promptly forget that they are not playing Call of Duty. You'll see three of them attacking one guy, instead of trying to help get the ball across the goal line. Huttball with evenly matched teams is actually pretty awesome.
  11. So, I'm thinking about running this Jedi Guardian build in PvP. Thoughts? http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/guardian/17/?build=021202231013100202100000000003203002102200010000000000000020000000000000000000000000&ver=15
  12. Tank spec, forgive the lingo. Old WoW player, here.
  13. So, I play a Prot Guardian. I realize that my DPS isn't supposed to be awesome in pvp. It seems, though, that even though I am in full Battlemaster gear, I just can't seem to beat anybody one-on-one. I love my PvP toolkit, don't get me wrong. But everytime I guard something by my lonesome, it only takes one guy attacking me to take me out (unless it's another guardian). Is my DPS supposed to be consistently outclassed, or do I just suck at it? Note: this isn't a complaining post. I just want to know if I am doing it wrong. Thanks, all.
  14. Thank you for the prompt and informative reply
  15. Ok, got a real n00b question: So, when I unlocked my "legacy" by completing chapter one, I received an item that states "use this to craft a power piece of legacy gear" (or something to that effect). It's called an inheritance item. I just can't figure out what I am supposed to do with it...how do I turn this into a piece of gear? Thanks.
