  1. apparently i need a usb thumb drive to run the memtest- I'll need to go buy one I guess, and legg- Very clever, I'll try that. ^^
  2. @ Leggomy You're correct. You'll see on this benchmark graph that the pentium D 2.8 performs slightly worse than the mentioned minimum speed processor- The core 2 duo @ 2.0ghz http://www.cpubenchmark.net/common_cpus.html Everything else, however, is above minimum. Please allow me to clarify: The problem does not lie (YET, it may very well just be too old of a pc) in my system not being fast enough to run the game. My problem lies in the launcher being stuck in a continuous loop of downloading the client. It doesn't even try to run to game. So in short, I'd like to fix this error and TRY to run the game given my current system. If it fails I'll let you get in a giant NEENER NEENER NEENER, but until then don't poop in my punch bowl.
  3. Zero- yeah oops, I pasted the wrong link and changed it like a moment later. Sorry bout that one. ><
  4. Sul- yeah you're right Now that I've calmed down I don't think I'll go shooting my CDs. However, I am still, and have been continually downloading the client for a few weeks now. Maybe not so much attention seeking as wanting to express anger. I'll try the mem test- Thank you ^^
  5. Yeah the problem is with the launcher- I can't finish installing the game. I'm reasonably certainI can play with the graphics turned down, but I'll keep yall posted when I get the launcher fixed. I contacted tech help on this one- they made a ticket and what not and emailed me, containing this - "... We are aware of this issue and we do have a specialist team working on resolving this issue for everyone affected by it. Unfortunately all we can advise at this point in time is to keep on trying to patch or repair the game. ..."
  6. So I went back to Target and they allowed me to exchange mine for a new copy, while that may not do anything for me, I do believe I can sell the unopened copy, so though I like the idea of using the discs as clay pigeons, I wont if I can get my money back. I don't believe that it's an issue of my computer not being able to handle the game- Pentium D Dual core @ 2.8 gig, 2 gigs memory, ATI 4350 with 1 gig mem, running xp. The issue is not being able to install the game- I get the "Installation Failed". Then When I click repair, it downloads one of a handful of files- English video 1 at 1.8 gigs, or another at 12 gigs, only to return to "Installation failed".
  7. After a couple weeks of messing with it, I throw in the towel. I was excited to play the new star wars game but after patching and repatching, downloading, scanning disks, and downloading the client over a dozen times, I still can't play! To be polite I hold my tongue and simply state that this has been an aggravating experience. If the store does not take it back with a receipt I will happily use the discs as clay pigeons, and will submit video. Thanks, John
  8. Disregard please. After using Google I found that the search function isn't up for now.
